I imagine this situation is probably pretty common. I have a friend who has decided to make his own ttrpg. He wants to make his own ttrpg because he gets annoyed by things DND does, but he has only played a few other ttrpgs (DND, Call of Cthulhu, Pathfinder, and Dune I believe). He wrote 30+ pages of his "system" and I can only describe it as...DND but homebrewed to be horribly unbalanced. He hasn't playtested anything yet, but just skimming through it it's pretty clear that it's not playable. He was already happy with it after only a month of working on it though. I suggested that he try other ttrpgs first because what he made felt way too close to DND but he got very offended by that suggestion. He's already asked another friend to make art for it and he's convinced that he can get it published and make money off of it...
There's probably no talking him out of it, but maybe I can send him some things that could help. From what I read/heard from him, it sounds like he wants to make an universal ttrpg that's customizable (custom spells, abilities, training in different skills, etc.). I don't want to utterly destroy his dreams, even though most of us are convinced that he will never publish/make something playable.

2025.01.24 11:24 Master_Document_2053 Root canal and numbness the day after procedure
I had a root canal done on Wednesday (2 hour long procedure and have to go back in 3 months to finish it). The next evening (yesterday) a little over 24 hours after I left the dentist my face starred to go numb on the same side that the root canal is on. It starred from the middle of my bottom lip and worked it's way to my cheek. I'm afraid my dentist office is closed on Fridays but will call them in a few hours. Is this something I should be worried about. My pain is also worse than it was yesterday. If I can't reach my dentist today is it okay to let this go all weekend?

After almost a month of back-and-forth emails, BPI AIA has decided to give us back my dad's whole money without any penalties.
But they are asking for a notarized quitclaim. Is this really necessary? or hinahassle nalang kami? Sa pagkakaalam ko kasi nag iiba presyo ng pag notarize depende sa nature nung document.
Tapos usually 1% ang fee? so 1% ng 500k = 5k para sa notary? necessary ba talaga ang quitlclaim???

My boyfriend and I were laying next to each other. He and I were watching TikTok’s together on his phone until he scrolled up and the apps that he had opened came up. I caught a glimpse of his settings app and it said ‘Private Safe’ so when he got up to go make some food, I decided to take a quick look and it’s password protected so now I am in my own head about what he’s got stored away in there. We’re open with our phones, we know each other’s passwords and I trust him but the password for this ‘Private safe’ is different to the one that unlocks his phone. He isn’t working at the moment either so it wouldn’t be work files or anything like that which makes me more curious. I know I should just ask but I’m scared to find out and I don’t want to pry into his business but he can have a wandering eye when it comes to other women. Obvious question, could it be for photos of other women?

I just watched an interview of the global girl group KATSEYE answering questions about dating. One of the girls, Yoonchae, seemed a bit awkward when answering the question. She's fairly conversational in English now so I don't think this was because of her English. Then someone in the comments pointed out how this must give Yoonchae "whiplash" due to her previous kpop academy training where it's basically drilled in candidates' brains that they cannot talk about their dating life or even hint that they've ever dated anyone.
Now the replies to this comment stirred up a discussion as to why this is, someone saying "it's sad but their choice" not sure if "their" is referring to the idols or the executives. I'd 100% say it's the executives fault. Being a celebrity is already so restricting I can't imagine the mental toll it takes to have to hide everything about who you are outside of it. This reminded me of that poor boy who was "exposed" for smoking and having a girlfriend YEARS before he joined this new KPOP boy band. I'm sure someone in the discussions will have clearer details on this than I do but it frustrated me how many death threats this guy had for literally doing what any average Korean does, and this was wayyy before his association with the boy band.
Celebrity censorship has always existed but now more celebrities feel comfortable opening up and sharing their lives with their fanbases, however the extent of censorship in Korea and in East Asian entertainment in general is so unnecessary. Whether this is the executives fault or crazed fans, something has to change within the kpop idol industry. Companies should also be willing to protect their idols more.
