2025.01.24 14:51 GoldenXXBliss YA Sci-fi/ Paranormal. Girl meets a ghostbuster sort of group at her new school, these teens hunt magical creatures. Random ice freezing of a bus. Shapeshifting/possessing mind supernatural creature.
Female MC, starting at a new normal high school, meets a group of teens at school who are sorta ghostbusters but for magical/paranormal creatures and no one is knows of them doing it. The group consists of an older boy and girl (seniors I believe), and a younger boy the same age as the fmc.
That younger boy has talked about his older sister who he witnessed as a child, disappeared into thin air (literally like just vanish) and no adults believed him and thought the older sister ran away. He insisted that he knows what he saw, which was her just going poof.
One day on her way to school the school bus she's riding randomly gets frozen by a creature and the older girl of the group is yelling at the students to leave the bus and she investigates the ice ( I remember the FMC was thinking something along the lines of "who does she think she is to be yelling orders like that" about the older girl). Later that group recruits the FMC and are looking for a shapeshifting creature that can inhabit human bodies and take control of them. They go and sneak into the school at night to search for it and are attacked.
FMC also becomes best friends with another girl at school, and the best friend is suspected to be the supernatural creature but PLOT TWIST!! turns out it's the FMC HERSELF that the creature has inhabited. She has no memories though of being possessed and doing bad stuff.
Also while the group is trying to track down the creature they find a photo from the past (like 1900s or earlier) that had the FMC's new best friend's face in it and that's how they thought she was the creature but it was photoshopped by the creature. FMC is saved from the creature after she is confronted by the group and her mother. Everyone else at some point knew that she had the creature inside her mind/body and trapped her to capture it. I not sure how long the mother knew of the creature thing inhabiting the FMC's body/mind but it was unexpected that she knew.
I think the book could be a standalone from the way the ending was wrapped up nicely but the missing sister of the younger boy in the group was never found or anything, mainly cause she was mentioned in passing to like explain how supernatural stuff existed everywhere. But maybe that could be something that gets explained more in another book?

2025.01.24 14:51 SunStar34 Pulling out of a nasty bender!
Had 23 drinks three days ago, 16 drinks the next day, and 8 yesterday. Still detoxing and a bit shakey, but not in a dangerous sense and I’m making my way. Shooting for 4 today, 2 tomorrow, and 0 ever again after that.
My brain is telling me that I still suck because I had 8 beers yesterday, but it’s actually quite an accomplishment.
Wish me luck as I continue on my journey!

I am going back to school online and need a laptop. My major is business administration so I will need everything Microsoft office, windows 11, etc. I want a laptop that will be a work horse, plenty of storage space and ability to use USB ports for files, and decent enough specs that I don't have to upgrade anytime soon. Budget is $1k, but I would really like to stay under $750 if possible As an aside, I am a gamer, so while it will be professional use mainly the ability to use for games too would be awesome.

Im looking to get into something like HOMM3 or something similar. Or even a 4x style game. Anything in between….An addictive “one more time” as my eyes are burning. Ha Ive never played much of these genres but I think this handheld could be great to find something Android or emulation based that I keep falling back on when I get bored. Maybe this has been discussed to exhaustion before? Thanks either way!

Quando Takumi descobre que a Ntsuki é uma ENJO KOSAI ( GP ) tanto no ep 8 e 9 no ORIGINAL ela se pergunta COMO ELE SOUBE. No ep 9 fica sentada no chão se perguntando como ELE SOUBE e que era cruel ele ter descoberto, que aquilo era um pesadelo, OK, ela queria namorar com o cara e a casa CAIU.
Já na versão dublada em português, pra quem não conhece a história e só ve aqueles trechos a pessoa pode entender tudo errado, pois ela fala: ""Nossa como ele pode pensar isso de mim"" , tanto no ep 8 e 9, ou seja uma total distorção da realidade do original já que de fato ELA ficou chocada pelo fato do cara TER DESCOBERTO que ela era uma GP.
Ficou bem realista ela ter ficado chocada já que mulheres são assim, enquanto ninguém sabe os segredos delas tá tudo DE BOAS, mas quando são desmascaradas entram em depressão e até tentam inverter a LÓGICA.
Ia fazer o cara de BOI manso, ainda que um "CUCK retroativo", ( já que a princesa tinha decidido a parar de trepar por grana ) e queria namorar com o cara e talvez casar e JAMAIS o MC saberia de nada.
