Lenovo Slim
The Autocad work will be in 2D, she won't be doing any 3D rendering. The display requirements for AutoCAD:

I can't seem to find the GPU ram specs on any of the links above. But they are lined up as follows;
ZenbookA14: Qualcomm® Adreno™ GPUI am assuming the Intel Arc series in the Slim is the choice to go with given the requirements, but curious if anyone has any experience with any of these and any light AutoCAD (or gaming as a proxy) work.

Got married and moved to the US last year. I can apply for removal of conditions at the end of the year.
I’m pregnant and so scared of this new administration, so I’m asking here not if I could travel (technically yes) but if I SHOULD travel.
This would be my last chance to go to my home country (Colombia) before I have my baby. I wanted to go and enjoy the food, see my family and have my baby shower, but now I’m conflicted.
My husband also planned a surprise trip for us to go to Mexico before baby gets here. I’m inclined to ask him to cancel and we can rebook some other time but we would loose money.

Hi everybody, a beginner here.
How does one scale down a 5 gal recipe to 2.5 gals?
I assume that with the ingredients (grain, hops, yeast, adjuncts), you can simply cut them down in half, but I am not sure what to do with water amounts. Specifically the water for boil, because as far as I know, water boil-off rate is constant, and does not depend on the volume of water.
My assumption is that if the recipe calls for 7 gals of water for the boil, then calculation for reduced water amount is: 7 gal - 1 gal (expected boil-off amount) = 6 gal 6 gal / 2 = 3 gal (expected volume after the boil, including the sediment) 3 gal + 1 gal (expected boil-off amount) = 4 gal Thus, I need to use 4 gal of water for the boil
Or am I overthinking this, and I can cut water in half as well?
The reason I am looking to scale down a recipe is because I found a number of beer styles I am curious to make, but I have no way of trying them beforehand to know if that is a style I will enjoy. Where I live, there's a government enforced monopoly on alcohol sales. So if the authorized gov store (and a very small number of private stores that import/sell beer) does not carry what you want, and you can't find a local brewery that brews that style, you are out of luck. So styles like (but not limited to) dark lager, dark IPA, imperial stout, english mild, gose, barley wine, braggot are very hard to find.

Hi All, I wish I found you guys weeks ago. I'm pretty sure I've developed a (new) twitch trying to figure out this laptop fiasco. I've kept the service warranty going on it until they refused to renew. It's definitely a lemon. We've had the power supply tested at my work station, upgraded the docking station, monitor the power and yet this laptop is now requiring a third battery change (they've always been replaced by a certified dell tech with certified parts). The last guy broke the track pad but Dell wouldn't fix it. The audio and light adaption do not work properly and the back won't screw closed completely bc tech accidentally broke the corner. With all that said, should I just replace the battery again OR concede to a new laptop.
LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE
- Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: USD $2000 (but preferably less)
- Are you open to refurbs/used? leaning toward no. Exhausted with the amount of service that's been required on my current laptop
- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Top priorities: Performance (it's taken the place of a desktop and travels with me quite often) & build quality, battery life is not as big of a deal, provided it doesn't die and refuse to allow critical updates with a drained battery. More often than not, I have access to a power source.
- How important is weight and thinness to you? good bonus features, but not the priority
- Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. larger, 14"+
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. most uses are cloud/internet based. ChatGTP, Adobe Suite, photo/video editing, social media (kill me) website maintenance, Microsoft office suite (lots of excel), light gaming (i.e. Subnautica)
- If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? I would enjoy using the laptop for gaming, but never dared with this one bc of the battery issue. Open world/quest games, not FPS
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? enough ports (at work i use a dell docking station with monitor and Bluetooth keyboard/mouse). At home, it would be nice to have a keyboard with good feel, a nice monitor. Bonus points if it's not a pita to use the num lock/accounting area feature for spreadsheets (instead of connecting a standalone)
- Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I manage a family business that requires me to wear so many hats. I think that's why i'm struggling to find a laptop that covers it all. My current laptop, while it's now 4 years old, was not cheap, and the repeated services and upgraded peripherals to make it work properly is enough to make me feel crazy.

So I’ve been smoking weed in my room for about a month from a bong. I’ve been smoking out of the window but I do notice a smell a couple hours within the time window of smoking, and I know nose blindness is a factor. I don’t really smell it generally aside from that. Now, there’s an animal trapped in the ceiling above my room & unfortunately I did have to contact my landlords about that for obvious reasons. Landlord is coming by Monday to let the guy in & presumably help pinpoint the problem since I sent videos over to help find the location/possibly identify the animal. Which…means he’ll be entering my room most likely. What are some ways to at least temporarily rid it of the smell, or am I fucked?
