2025.01.24 20:31 Davissw Firepit at Daycare
We are looking for a new daycare for my soon to be 2 year old. We toured one today that checks every box but, to me at least, has one glaring problem: an above ground wood fire pit.
They had it going when he arrived and they commented they us it most mornings. Its hard for me to quantify how smoky the backyard was but it was "quite" smoky. The daycare is also mostly outside.
Aside from the inherinent danger of a toddler climbing into a fire pit... I'm very concerned about my kid being subjected to smoke for several hours on most days.
My partner is less concerned. For me this is a hard no simply because of this but I feel bad because it seems perfect aside from this. Can anyone give me some vindication that this is a deal breaker? Or alternatively, help me understand why it's no big deal?

I recently ordered a CS, and I have a Holosun EPS "full size" on the way, but I can't seem to find a reliable way to mount it up without having to replace the front sight to a lower "carry height" front post...
Does anyone have any recommendations? Or should I just go with an EPS Carry and make it easier on myself?

I just started to uber eats today to try and make money until I find a permanent job. It’s rough out here, I spent 3 hours and only made $20 Total and that’s only because I signed up for the higher hourly rates, if I hadn’t I don’t think I would even cover gas!! I have an A2337 MacBook Air M1 7C with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD in Space Gray, which is still currently enrolled in annual AppleCare+. Battery has 247 cycles with 87% health. The top of the laptop is skinned in dbrand mahogany, which is no longer available.
Under the skin it is in good condition, though if you look at the picture, highlighted by the green reflection, there seems to be an indent, I am not sure when that happened, and the bottom of the laptop has a small dent and some scratching. The left screen corner has an indent from when the bag it was in was dropped many years ago, but it does not affect functionality at all, and has never been an issue since it happened. Included is the original box and accessories, the charger also has minor damages but again not affecting functionality.
AppleCare+ renewed in December and I was told by the Apple Store that it is possible to transfer the contract to a new owner, so the price reflects the fact that this laptop is covered through the end of the year and after that you are free to renew or let it lapse.
I'm asking $560 (OBO) shipped and insured, or local cash in the Reading, PA area.

A memory was triggered in my mind a few weeks ago about my first love 34 years ago, and I've been obsessing over him ever since. I was 21 studying abroad and he was in the US army stationed there. We were going to stay together and talked about our future, and he was the first man I ever loved. When I came back to the states, I broke it off after a few months because I just wanted to have fun and enjoy my last year and a half of college. I've got pictures of us together and ones he sent me in his letters, and I look at them all the time now and have googled him, found where he lives on google maps, and I can't get him out of my head. I don't even know what I would do if I managed to reach out to him. I'm married, and I love my husband, but I keep playing this "what if" scenario in my head. Does anyone have any advice? I feel like I'm losing my mind.
