I got a client who wanted me to upcycle/restore some old/ruined jewelery of hers. She had already previously ordered some pieces of mine so things were going pretty smoothly until it turned sour.
I received the things she wanted to restore (about 4 items per the original agreement), and she somehow snuck in 4 more things...
I mentioned to her that there was more in there than we originally agreed to and she was deflecting/dismissing me by saying "oh one just needs the elastic replaced and one just needs the hooks changed and one just blah blah blah. And I thought you charged way too much to begin with etc".
I was immediately pissed off, because before this, she had already asked for a discount and I obliged by taking care of the shipping cost of the supplies I'd need for HER restoration. Now you're sneaking in more stuff and damn near insulting my time, effort and creative energy? I don't f**king think so, lady.
I immediately told her that I have to decline her order because it's bad enough that she was dishonest about the workload by sneaking more stuff in and expecting it for free, but now she's insulting my time. Told her to respectfully take her business elsewhere and offered her a refund on the stuff she had previously got.
She had the nerve to react "wow, was what I said really that deep? I'm wowed". Ma'am you should be "wowed" about YOUR dishonesty, lack of transparency and respect for the effort that handmade creations take. Gtf out of my face 🤣 if she was honest from the jump, I could've probably agreed to do the extra stuff for free, but the dishonestly, entitlement and justification of it all was what pissed me off.
Tbh I had a strong feeling that she was going to be difficult or stressful but I didn't want to react based on just that feeling, until I saw that I was absolutely right. Take your money.
Anyone else dealt with such sneaky clients before?

Me (f21) and my fiancé (m22) are getting married this year. Long story short, during me planning the bridal party a friend of mine ghosted me and I left it alone because she keeps to herself and is not the person to initiate conversations etc. With that I had asked her multiple times if she would still be able to be in the wedding. Weeks go by with no response. Then when she does finally respond she says “if you want me to I can” I left it at that because she ghosted me. Fast forward I’m scrambling to find another bridesmaid to replace her that I’m comfortable with and would have a good time with the rest of the bridal party.
Last minute I asked my fiancés youngest sister (I initially didn’t want any siblings because 2 are not old enough to go out to bars and what not and the older sister were not close with). Youngest sister was excited when I asked her. (Made this decision because fiancé wouldn’t say no to his brother not being in the wedding). Now as of yesterday I’m put in an uncomfortable position. Older sister finds out and she’s not happy. We did not intentionally exclude her by any means. It’s just the way things happened. I’m stressed out because I found out through another bridesmaid (fiancés cousin) and I don’t know how to go about talking to her or if I even should.
Should I do anything?

2025.01.24 20:31 allllllly494 Barriers switching to traditional provider/insurance coverage
Was looking at my prescription coverage for the new year and saw that Mounjaro was fully covered (as in $0.00!) but of course, needed prior auth. Not sure if that's actually what I'll be paying, but figured it was worth a try as I've been paying OOP for meds up until now. I have about 25 lbs to lose and interested in switching to Mounjaro as it seems to be more effective. My concern is I've gotten down to a borderline overweight BMI after being on Ozempic for 1.5yr. I didn't start losing weight until 1.5-2.0mg but was unable to continue higher doses due to cost.
I'm anticipating difficulty finding a provider willing to prescribe AND get PA approval as my initial BMI was 29.7 and no qualifying Dx. The PCP NP I saw before starting Ozempic was basically jaded from the '90s fen/phen era and wanted nothing to do with GLPs. On top of that, I have an HMO plan and would need a referral to see a specialist who also may or may not be open-minded. I travel a lot internationally, so med spas, telehealth, compound mail-Rx aren't an option for me.
As the FDA is working to end compounding, I'm wondering if anyone else has had experience dealing with these hurdles. I know I have to try regardless, but I'm concerned that pursuing the traditional route is going to end up being a huge waste of time and copays.

With the outage on Tuesday 1/22/2025 impacting RingCentral, Zoom, Teams Voice, etc.. I assume that this is a major backbone carrier who had issues that affected all the consumer facing cloud services. I know RingCentral has promised root cause analysis within 3 days (which does that mean business days as in Monday?), but I cannot find any info apart from users of these platforms complaining which I believe was not in fact any of these platform's fault.
How is it in our inter-connected, real-time world (X, tiktok, etc..) that there is no talk of what actually caused this outage and who the provider was?
Does anyone have any inside info? It almost seems like all these cloud providers have some language in their contracts that they wont name upstream providers in situations like this.
