I know that TikTok isn't totally banned, but when people start switching to new Iphones there is no way for them to redownload the app. I wonder if the restriction will make the app slowly die and we move to another platform, or it will become more desired than ever? I got a new phone recently and still have my old one with downloaded TikTok. I've been seeing that they have been selling for 10,000$? It seems insane, what do you guys think? is 2025 the year TikTok dies?

I have a question that I’ve been wanting to ask for a while. I am doing a very simple V Carve of a zebra. It is just the head and about 4”x3”. I am using 3 clearance bits 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16 then the 60 degree v bit. The calculated time is over an hour and a half total. I am only going to a depth of .03”. When looking at it it will do a section here then go across and do another section and then come back very close to the first section. It will do the MANY MANY Times. Is there a way to have the software tell the machine to do a project in the shortest time possible? Start in one section and then the next part will be close to the first then the third part will be close to the second and so on? This makes perfect sense in my brain so I hope it does for you too. I sometimes find it necessary to remind ourselves of this in feminist circles from time to time.
Patriarchy dehumanizes and objectifies women. It suppresses our feelings, emotions, thoughts, attitudes, desires and wants, so that we are "robots" that only follow orders. We are compared to "objects". Since objects are inanimate, they have no feelings, emotions or thoughts.
Women are denied humanity, until we forget that we are in fact human, with blood running through our veins, a heart beating in our chest, a brain with anxiety and a desire for survival, human survival instincts, etc.
In addition to the fact that we are human, we still live in a capitalist society. And this fact alone forces women to do things they don't want to do, because they NEED to survive. For example, as much as we feminists would like to work in an environment with only women, this is not possible, because we live in a capitalist society, and we NEED to work to earn money, to earn a living and to survive. So we "forcefully" accept working with men, because we NEED to survive.
I am saying all this because I have the impression that sometimes feminist women forget this. We read so many feminist books, so many theories, we participate in so many debates, and we forget that we are human, and so are our sisters.
And as a consequence of this, we bring to our resistance movement this dehumanizing behavior that is applied to us daily by men. We forget that in addition to being feminists, we are human, with feelings, frustrations, emotions, anxiety, depression, that we live in a perverse capitalist society, and that we are all trying to survive with the few resources we have.
We are not JUST intellectual theory. Feminist intellectual theory helps us deconstruct our internalized misogyny, love ourselves more, seek our independence, and stop idolizing men. But we are also human (let’s not bring dehumanization into our resistance movement).
It’s okay to apply a face mask to your face before bed because acne hurts your skin, and it’s masks that alleviate acne. That doesn’t make you any less of a feminist, much less a woman who is unaware of how the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries act on women’s self-hatred. It’s okay to love your father, who has always treated you very well. It also doesn’t make you any less of a feminist or unaware of how men are socialized to hate women. It’s also okay to love your son, who is a man, and try to teach him to respect women. That doesn’t make you any less of a feminist than any other feminist. It’s also okay to just be human, trying to make your life easier. You don’t have to be an activist all the time, 24 hours a day. You also don't have to be "resistant" all the time, because being resistant is tiring. Sometimes you can just be a tired human being who doesn't feel like talking about feminism, and just wants to play video games, eat pizza and watch a series you like. You are not a robot without feelings like the patriarchy said you should be, you are a HUMAN with feelings and emotions, and that is normal.
It is normal to be HUMAN, to be aware of how society affects you, and to have EMOTIONS, feelings, to create affection with other human beings, and still live your truth as a 4b (because like I said, you do not live in isolation). Just as it is normal for you, as a HUMAN, to make mistakes. To make mistakes. It is HUMAN nature to make mistakes. Even if you are a feminist and are aware of how society works. Because, once again, you are HUMAN, and no one is more or less feminist than you, just because you made a mistake.
Finally, seek therapy with a feminist psychologist. Therapy is always good, it’s good for you, and most of all, it helps us understand ourselves as HUMANS. Because, as I said, the patriarchy constantly denies us our HUMANITY, and sometimes we do it to ourselves and our sisters without even realizing what we’re doing.
Recognizing the humanity in ourselves, forgiving our past mistakes, and being kinder to ourselves is empowering. Because the patriarchy wants us to be emotionally SICK, and being emotionally healthy makes us less vulnerable to men.

I installed the weighless gold mod (for ps5 console) and now cannot trade with the first merchant at the inn (Quartermaster Talli). I've already made purchases from her but when I returned to buy a staff I was saving up for, I'm told I don't have enough gold (even tho I have over 900- the item is 770) on my character. And the gold disappears when I get to the trading window. I'm stumped. I hate to do a bug report, but I guess that's my next step. Could it be an item? I'm very bad at noticing the finer details..

Just wondering if any other HFs are finding it harder to match? We’re looking for our second AP through Cultural Care and I’m getting very little responses, and ghosted for the few interviews I do schedule. It seems like the app is showing everyone the same people because most of the people I want to chat with are unavailable! Is it me or are others finding this?
I’ll list our details in case it’s me… we have 2 kids, aged 4 and 1.5. The 4 year old is in school full time during school year and in camps during the summer so mostly need care for the younger one. We do ask for 40 hours per week but no weekends. 15 minutes away from a large US city. Dedicated car with unlimited use. All gas, groceries, toiletries, phone plan, and gym membership paid. We pay above the minimum stipend. Our house is nice but we’re not crazy rich (3700 sq ft in a suburb). The au pair room is on the same floor as the other bedrooms, but down the hall and she has a private bathroom. I work from home full time.
I’m not picky on country, age, or experience as long as they have some experience with toddlers and good driving.
Is there anything I can do to be more appealing? We have so loved our current au pair experience and I’m nervous we won’t be able to find another! I’m open to feedback! Or maybe I need to switch to APIA….

Like yes, everybody talks about him being one of Beast's dog trained flying monkeys anyways, but lately the brown nosing has become pretty intense and I wonder why? Could it be people keep bringing up how "Beast's ship is sinking", with him now panicking to rebuild his image after the show flopped in reviews and all the scandals causing business to tank? So Karl might be deliberately instructed to kiss his a$$ all over socials, even more than usual? Or is he just trying to secure favorite-points in case daddy's finances fold, on his own accord?
Here, he's now been lovebombing Jimmy nonstop and applauds / jumps / hugs / worships him without him having actually done anything to contribute to save tiktok? Or keep any promises he made? Or follow up with actions to any of his big boy words? Why is Karl implicitly lying and trying to give Beast glory for something he didn't even do? It's gross and unwarranted.
People also pointed out that Karl spammed his own strictly-minecraft Youtubechannel with Jimmy centered content. It reminds me of Beast's recent tweets (they are uploaded is this sub too, you can look them up) where he tries to position himself as the nation's selfless hero and seems to ACTUALLY believe the outlandish, narcissistic BS he's saying, it's comedic gold in the most dystopian, gut wrenching way. Maybe Karl is externally encouraged to be such a huge Enabler, but to see a grown man sell his dignity like that to help feed into a false image is just super disturbing and pathetic to watch, especially given he's never done it as severely as now. Always hoped for him to gain distance from Beast and for once live up to his potential one day, but man, it's tough to see how they all bend over backwards like little weasels in this dude's presence. What do you think is going on?

I’m relatively new to Fantastic 4 lore and watched a breakdown of Ultimate Reed lore.
It stated that after messing with the teleporter to the N-Zone, Reed needed the superposition codes from Doom in order to cure the team, which obviously includes Ben.
But apparently Doom was unwilling to give the codes and as such, Reed was unable to get the cure.
My question is this. So, Obviously Reed would have made some connections in the super hero community.
Why didn’t he just get another superhero that he was friends with to mind read Doom for the codes?
Especially since curing Ben is so important to him?

2025.01.24 21:22 Leonatius How do you read Tacoma transmission dipstick?
I have a 2001 Tacoma prerunner I4 2.7l, and for the life of me cannot figure out what’s going on with my transmission fluid based on the dipstick.
When the engine is cool and after driving it for 30mins-1hr, the dipstick still reads above the “maximum” hot line (1st from the right).
I’m assuming it’s NOT supposed to read like that but I couldn’t find anything about it in the manual and there’s a lot of conflicting information online with about these dipsticks and gen 1 tacomas.
I recently had the gasket changed on the tranny pan and I’m assuming they didn’t drain any fluid from the pan after removing it but my truck isn’t as jumpy anymore and it feels like it revs higher trying to get into second gear than it did when I first bought it.

One more semester, English, religion and a co-op.. easiest semester I could ask for. then what, I move to a college in a city I’ve been to once, 2 hours from home, where do I even start with literally everything, shopping, making friends, finding work?? It’s like starting life over but I’m birthed as an adult instead of a kid with a whole future ahead of them.
And then after that? Do I find a job? Do I transfer to uni for a bachelors? Maybe even a masters after that? My prime college/uni years would be over by then, wouldn’t I just be the equivalent of a high school senior but this time and a university? Am I overthinking everything or is this all just crazy to me.
