 | Last year I learned gem faceting and have been working to improve and integrate it into my metalworking. For this ring I cut a zircon using Graham’s Opposed Bar design and then created a sterling silver ring to play off the gem. Really loved how it came out and it went home with a wonderful person! I also did a version of this ring with a crazy bright yellow Lumogarnet for a good friend. I have these crazy blue Topazes that will hit the laps next. I completed the assessment two days before the Zoom screening. The day after the Zoom, I received an email asking for feedback and stating that they will update me on the status of my application. Is this a good sign? I’ve read that people who aren’t moving forward are often informed immediately after their assessment. I know the assessment is supposed to be hard, but I feel like I bombed it. I’m assuming they would’ve let me know by now that I didn’t make it to the next round, right?

This Is a poem about my mother that I've written from the perspective of teenage me. I'd love some feedback and just general impressions! I'd just generally like to know if it's good or not. Also for context, my mother's name is Jill.
Although you hold my hand, and gently wipe my tears, your criticism is my destruction; and your words are my worst fears. You tell me that you love me and that you hate to see me cry. Yet you yell and call me names, and make my confidence die. You say that I’m the problem, and I believe every bitter word. I scream and cry and shout, just wanting to be heard. After years and years of fighting, my hatred for you grows, but you make me feel so selfish, as I’m writing all my woes. I realize that you’re broken, that you truly are trying your best. But your best isn’t enough, not when you’re supposed to build me up instead of tear me down. Sure you make me smile, but you also make me frown. But what I hate most of all, is I see your traits in me. Your temper, your judgmental nature, and the way you always disagree. The way you slowly shop, your hair, and your need to be right. I see all of it inside me, and it floods me with pure spite. I don’t know how to feel. You do a lot for me, you love me, and you truly wish the best. But then you turn around and scream and call me names, and make me constantly stressed. Sure you don’t physically beat me….. not enough to be abuse. But you mess with my emotions, and you turn my head against me. I hear your voice nonstop, drowning all my confidence, making me second guess, telling me I need to change, and that it’s all my fault. Thanks to you I trust no one, and my heart is locked away in a vault. I know you try your best, but your best isn’t enough. I know you can’t help it, that you’re broken, that you’re damaged. I know that you have trauma too, wounds that haven’t been bandaged. But I still don’t forgive you. Maybe one day I will. But until then, you are no mother of mine, you are simply Jill.

This is week 6 of trying to decrease my supply and all I’ve achieved is pain and leaking 🫠
Baby is 6.5 months old and eats 23 oz/day, which I know is not enough for his age, but we are fortifying BM with formula among other things directed by pediatrician due to his weight being low.
Since my supply regulated at 3 months pp, I have pumped an average of 38-40 oz a day and been stockpiling the extra in a deep freezer. I’ve dropped 1 pump every 2 weeks for 6 weeks now so I’m down to 3 pumps a day and STILL producing 32-36 oz a day and I’m engorged and in pain all the time. I thought pumping less frequently would tell my body to stop making so much milk but it’s not working.
I tried applying ice packs, wearing a tight sports bra, taking ibuprofen, and wearing cabbage leaves. Nothing is working. Has anyone successfully decreased their supply or quit altogether? I want to start going through his frozen stash (plan was to feed 1/2 fresh, 1/2 frozen) so I would like to produce 12 oz or less per day… any advice appreciated!!!
