I had no idea this footage existed until one day I stumbled across an episode of good night America on ABC from March 6, 1975, which was the first time the Zapruder film as well as this alternate angle of the moment JFK was hit with a lethal headshot that I’ve never heard get talked about in my life after years of researching the subject.

Hello, I guess I ended up here in quite the same way most of you have. I've been trying to loose weight the normal ways for years with no luck. I'm 5'3" 380 and frustrated. I walk everyday I try my best to diet and no dice. My pcm recently suggested I try zepbound but I'm nervous about starting a new medication. What has it been like for you all ? Side effects? And what has help you deal with negative effects? She wants me to try going vegan too which I have no clue how to do properly. Are any of you vegan? How do you get your protein in that way? How to deal with the reality of loose skin when insurance likely isn't gonna cover removal surgery.
Yes I am aware strength training is best for weight loss but I have near constant hip and back pain from a serious injury and it makes weightlifting painful and difficult, it's also when my weight gain really took off. I was very active before my injury. If you have back pain I'd love to hear how you work out?

I have a 15 month old that we cosleep with and love the ease of getting him back to sleep during night wake ups by just breast feeding him. However I am 5 months pregnant and feel we need to start night weening to pave the way for full weening and getting him more independent before our new baby comes. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated as I have no idea where to even start! He can wake up several times throughout the night, or just once or twice in the early morning depending on teething and all the other factors in little lives. I’m afraid we are going to have a really hard time with him and I don’t want to traumatize our relationship before the new baby joins our family! Thank you everyone for a safe space to ask questions!

2025.01.24 22:53 FranDreschersLaugh Revising while drafting?
I wrote a "shitty first draft" of my novel last year.
(I actually wouldn't even call it a first draft. More like a "zero draft.")
Now, I am writing my "true first draft," and it's going much, much better. I'm pretty happy with the voice, characters, etc.
Here is what I have so far:
- A full outline of the major plot points
- Character sheets I'm confident in
- About 10K words written (a handful of chapters)
I keep noticing issues that make me feel like I need to stop and take a step back / revise before moving on.
For example:
- In one early scene in the novel, the MC is arguing with her partner. I really liked the scene but then I realized... "Wait a second, maybe they shouldn't be arguing this early. Like, I should build up to this argument instead. That makes more sense for their arc."
- ...So then I end up trying to go back and revise their arc and then re-write the scene based on that.
- Then, I'm happier with the scene/arc BUT I wonder: "Am I just going to change this again later anyway? Should I just be writing this through and going back for major developmental edits in the next draft?"
- But then I tell myself: "No, this was worth stopping to fix. It's better. It was worth the time!"
But the real problem is, I'm super early into my novel and I have a feeling LOTS of issues like this will crop up, where I'll feel uncertain about a scene/arc/etc.
So I keep going back and forth:
Should I just keep writing? OR should I revise this bit now since it has a BIG effect on the rest of the novel / how the following scenes will play out? Maybe I need a more fleshed out outline? ...Idkkkk!
TL;DR:
At what point do you stop and take a step back to revise and/or get more "big picture clarity" while drafting?
How do you discern the need to do that so that you produce a cleaner draft vs. the need to just keep writing and worry about the details stuff in later drafts?
I know everyone's process is different and unique. But I'm hoping to get some insight or knowledge that might help.
Also, I'm a published short story writer and write for a living as well (I work in advertising), so I'm not new to writing per se. I'm just trying to figure out what my best process is for writing a novel specifically.
Would love advice/insights from any authors here!
