Hey ya'll. I'm not familiar with most of these parts on this computer. Could someone help me identify the value of this? It's price at $215 on local Craigslist. I usually play indie/pixel games. Would mind playing some more polished stuff, even at low settings. Also interested in cpu heavy stuff like Dwarf Fortress. Thanks for any advice.

I play on a beer league team in the lowest division in my local league. Our team was created new last season, as they added one team to each division for expansion. We suck. Every other team has a skill range of a few guys that could definitely play up a division down to a few players that are newer and have some issues like bad skating, puck skills, senses, whatever. Its honestly a really fair and even division. Except for my team. Our 2 best players have scored every single point we've ever scored. Which is 4. 4 total points across this year and last year. They would be 2nd liners on the other teams. There is a pretty steep drop off from the top few dudes to the bottom. The bottom guys just can't really skate or play at all, but they paid their dues and thems the breaks.
The league gives priority to everyone currently playing for signing up next year, and we had no turnover. Looking like no turnover again for next season unless something changes. Some people have made some improvements but by and large we look really similar each game today as we did last season. There aren't other options in my area so its this or you don't play ice hockey. Because this is the only option, no one is willing to quit. But we lose almost every single game 8-0 or something like that. Its really starting to have an impact on a lot of our morale. Its a lot of money and time to spend to get your shit rocked once a week all winter long. We've talked to the league, but they have committed to not forcing people off other teams to balance things since most of the other teams have been around for a long time and the other new teams in the higher divisions are relatively competitive and can score/occasionally win.
I'm not a captain but I'm a bit on the leader side of things so I feel some responsibility to improve things however I can. I try to keep the vibes up, try to give friendly advice since I'm one of the more experienced players, try and make sure there are fun after game hangs and all that. The longer we spend getting our ass beat the less fun most people are having during and after the games. I feel like I'm at a loss for what to do. I know every other one of my teammates would be unable to play hockey if they stepped away from this team, and I would hate to be a leader in a room that makes someone feel so bad they'd rather not play than be there. Admittedly I also struggle a bit with personal morale too. I am always trying to keep a happy face on and high energy but someone getting their hat trick goal with a minute left to make it 0-9 for the 15th time in a row starts to wear on you. And spending 90% of every shift in your own zone blocking shots isn't really that fun.
I'm wondering if anyone else has been trapped in this kind of scenario, how yall got out, and how you dealt with how demoralizing it is along the way. Do we just wait it out until some people quit and hope the new guys are good? Should we try to apply pressure to the currently unhelpful league to change things up at all? Fudgey the whale cake? Open to all suggestions.

2025.01.24 22:53 lebnomis New hardwood install on old, uneven floors in a century home
Our 1930 house has original hardwood that is in really rough shape. It is thin from being refinished multiple times and it creaks and cracks a whole lot. Plus, the floor has a pretty pronounced slope towards the middle of the house, and it is quite bouncy in some spots.
We are planning a kitchen renovation, and we’ll be replacing the hardwood in the process. We’re going to be jacking the floor from the basement to try to get it closer to level, and we’ll build a supporting wall to replace the old, dry-rotting beams.
The floor joists are about 14” to 17” on centre, they are 6” to 8” deep, and 2.5” to 4” wide. The subfloor is diagonally laid pieces of 1x10.
A few questions :
1 - I don’t anticipate getting the floors perfectly level. Along the inside wall of the kitchen, there will probably still be about a 5/8” drop from one side to the other of the kitchen (about 15 feet). It is a fairly gradual drop, with no major high or low spots along the way, but it's still in no way even or perfect. Will this be problematic for installing new hardwood ? Will it adapt to the slightly uneven and sloping floor ?
2 – I want the floors to be quiet and feel solid. Would adding a layer of ½” OSB and screwing it through the subfloor and into the joists add structural integrity to the floor, and make it less bouncy ? Or will my floor always be bouncy regardless due to the dimensions and placement of my joists ?
Would simply screwing the existing subfloor into the joists and adding the new stapled-down hardwood on top be sufficient to treat these issues ?
I am a DIYer and this will be my first hardwood floor install.

2025.01.24 22:53 Single_Core QNAP client isolation or private vlan support
I have an opnsense router and a QNAP QSW-M2116P-2T2S switch. I've configured my vlans and set the correct access in my rules.
And nearly everything is working as expected, however I made an iot-net which contains some cameras and my solar inverter en various other "internet-only" devices. But I would like it that there is no communication possible between clients on this vlan.
Either I am blind because I cannot find this setting in my qnap switch or it doesnt support it, any ideas? Or am I overlooking something obvious?
Configuring this in opnsense isnt possible as far as I know, since the local traffic would never reach my gateway becauses the switch is going to well ... switch it ... instantly.
