It sounds stupid, but bear with me here:
I have this online friend. She's already pretty messed up with a less than ideal home life and a few mental illnesses.
Now not long ago, she just broke up with her with her GF, who she was E-dating. It lasted like, maybe not even a week. Long distance just hadn't worked for her GF.
I didn't know it at the time but a lot of her mental health had revolved around her. She had given her a reason to keep going, and gave her a future. She wanted marry her some day. It gave her commitments in life and now its all gone.
I've tried to help, but I feel like I'm coming off like a condesceding asshole, I'm prolly the only one helping, and I feel like I'm not making anymore progress. I'm at a standstill of what to do.
This ain't exactly the sub to ask but I ain't got anywhere else lmao.

2025.01.25 00:01 Outrageous-Bee4035 Love my firestick, hate the bloatware. What to get?
Title kinda describes it.
But, I use Kodi and some other apps (OnStream for example). But my wife and kids can't figure out navigating those well, so having the standard netflix/disney/hulu/max apps is convenient for them. But there is so much bloatware and advertisements on the firestick that I can't delete its annoying getting around it. Is there an affordable/cheap better alternative to the Firestick Max that's easy for non tech savvvy people like my wife and kids to use?
Not trying to by the Nvidia Shield. Way outta line.

Anyone from asia chasing coastFIRE? It's relatively easy to coast FIRE if you're not from Singapore. My number is 1 million USD. A 4-5% yearly dividend already beats the average active income of people in Asia. But here's the thing: when I hit 1 million, I would still want to work because the compounding effect after that is a massive gain. If 1 million in capital is left untouched, at 10% interest per year, in 5 years it will become 1.6 million.
I notice that when you hit a larger capital, your active income doesn't contribute much, even if you want it to, because the snowball effect is kicking in. Why do I still work today? To wait, basically—not so much because I want to hasten the process. Even rich Buffett made his real money after 60 years old.
