2025.01.24 23:39 GordonRammstein None of these valves seat fully. How would you replace with the short stub outs?
I was doing a Little googling and found some push fit shark bites that I was planning on trying out. I don’t own crimpers, so that’d be my easiest/cheapest option for a one off job. I know a lot of plumbers hate shark bite, but they seem to be gaining popularity and I’m willing to try. That being said, these stubs look pretty short and I think I’d need a little extra length to make them work.
So my questions now are:
A) can I remove these valves without cutting to save some pipe length?
B) what brand/style of valve would you use here?
C) do you see any problem with adding a 90 and a short length of pex to lower the placement of the cold water shutoff? It’s in a real bitch of a spot, tucked up behind the kitchen sink.
There’s a leaky filter tee’d into the cold water line that’s been dripping since we moved in back in November(long story as to why it hasn’t been fixed yet). I want to get it handled now, but I can’t shut the water off til I’m ready to replace these valves too.

Hey synth nerds! I’m moving to Atlanta in a few months. After being in the sticks for a while, I’m excited to be back in a city environment. I’m also fairly new to synths and electronic music after spending most of my musical careelife as a more traditional rock/blues guitar player. I'm planning to get certified in A+ 1101 soon and I'd like to get a job with it. I know enough about computers, I've built mine back in 2022 and had several repairs, so I'm very hands on and know how to figure out hardware problems. I'm very enthusiastic with computers as I've been using them my entire life and I'm really antsy to get a job WITH it, for both experience and money of course.
Should and can I get a job with just 1101? Or should I get certified in other areas first, like security, before I seek into the tech fields.
