So just curious on how this all works. My underage child was hit by a car while out for a morning jog one day in August 2023. It was a hit and run DUI, driver was a young 20 year old who had just robbed the store (beer) with his buddies. When he was caught and arrested, he was held but released. I am wanting to follow this case once charges are filed. I search the case number periodically but nothing shows up yet.
Police report shows 23153(g) VC Felony DUI Drugs and Alcohol with Injury, and 20001 VC Felony Hit and Run causing injury.
Does this generally mean that the DA has 3 years to file charges?? Riverside, CA.
