I’m 51 and finally quit after decades of drinking, but spiraling out of control during the pandemic. I’m 6 months sober. Trust me when I say that I know that isn’t shit and it’s a day to day proposition. I don’t miss drinking. I miss that first hour of fun but don’t miss the hell that followed. I don’t even have to try to not drink. I just immediately remember detox, pissing the bed, ER visits, being ‘that dad” and letting my kids down and almost losing my job. My question is for quitters over 50. Did you eventually regain a lust for life or did you just exist as a sober person? I’m just fucking existing. Nothing excites me. Nothing interests me. I never thought I’d go from scared to die to be at peace with it. Is this part of my brain healing itself or is this just what life is now? Maybe it’s depression. Maybe it’s my testosterone dropping as I age. Maybe I need therapy. Maybe I’m just tired and don’t fucking care anymore. I’m dead inside.

Hey everyone,
For the last two months, I’ve been reaching out to tons of small business owners and entrepreneurs, offering web development services. I’ve sent hundreds of messages, but I haven’t gotten even a single fruitful response. It’s been rough.
I already have a small portfolio of websites I’ve made for friends and family through referrals, so I know I can deliver quality work. I also tried Upwork, spent a decent amount of money buying connects, but didn’t have much luck there either.
Now I’m thinking maybe I need to change how I approach this. Instead of trying to sell my services right away, maybe I should focus on helping people first—like building a website for someone for free, just to show what I can do and maybe get some feedback or referrals.
Has anyone here been through something similar? What did you do to finally get people to notice your work? And if you were a business owner, what would make you trust someone enough to give them a shot?
I’d really appreciate any advice or ideas.

After reading my situation, am I crazy for buying this 2005 Element? It's a Red one, and I saw it at one of my local dealers. These are all the photos I have (the rear trailing arms). The interior is very poor. The rear door has a plastic panel missing, and the wires are exposed for the rear wiper. The glove box looks like it was broken in to, and cannot be opened. And the driver seat is completely chewed up. There's some minor scuffs and scars to the interior plastic, and both front tires are flat from a slow leak. BUT, originally the dealer is asking for $4995, but after discussing my concerns, they said they would sell it to me for $3500 cash. My hopes are that possibility, down the road that I can repair my Black Element's frame. And I purchase this red one in the meantime. The good news is that I can Frankenstein parts from either vehicle. But, based on what you're seeing from these photos of the Red Trailing arm, is this worth $3500? 2025.01.24 23:42 RazTheWanderer CarPlay - Track Button on Steering Wheel doesn't work? Try This.
After months of annoyance, I think I finally figured out a workaround. Since I've had the truck, any time I parked, left the truck, and come back shortly after, when I start the truck again, the track selector button on the steering wheel would NEVER work. Works 100% of the time on the first drive, but stop at the store, and when you jump back in, it never works. When the truck sits for a long time, it's fine, but any sort length of time, you can rely on the button not working.
On a whim, I decided to try PAUSING the music before I jump out. And lo and behold, it works! When you restart the truck, the button works! So far, I've tested it about 10 times, with a 100% success rate.
Not ideal to have to do it, but if you are like me, I'd rather pause as I go to get out, rather than drive all the way home with the button not working. Hope it works for you too!
For reference, 2024 ZR2, up to date on software updates.

I know the norm here & elsewhere online is for car buyers to post about their negative dealership experiences. There's a ton of youtube videos & even other sub-reddits bashing dealerships and car salespeople
However, as someone who grew up in a car sales family (my father has sold cars for 40 years and my brother has sold cars for almost 20 years) I know that not all car salespeople are bad. Indeed the majority are normal average people who're just trying to earn their daily bread
So I want to counter the negativity spewed by others with positivity. If you've had a positive dealership car buying experience or just any positive dealership experience, please share it below in the comment section
I'll start by sharing two positive dealership experiences that I've had very recently
- Just in the past week, I helped my neighbor buy a very high demand low supply vehicle i.e brand new gasoline 2025 Toyota Corolla LE sedan in the highly sought after Celestite exterior and black interior color combo (because it's low maintenance and aesthetic). We live in Houston but dealership is in Spring. The dealership initially quoted $32k OTD but after I aggressively negotiated on my neighbor's behalf, they brought the price down to $27.5k OTD. This includes floor mats, tints, and mud guards. They also agreed to deliver the car to my neighbor and the dealership is an hour away. The dealership even ate the $150 credit card processing fee so that my neighbor can earn $55 cash back by making a $5000 deposit by credit card. I know the dealership didn't make much profit, especially since my neighbor paid cash, bought no extended warranties, and no trade in. Yet both the salesman and finance manager were friendly and not pushy. My neighbor conducted his entire car buying experience from the comfort of his home, not even one visit to the dealership! No test drive, just leave it up to Jesus! He was worried because he wired a huge sum of money to the dealership before getting the car but the dealership confirmed in the end they received it!
- Recently, I helped my friend buy a brand new fully loaded top trim 2024 Nissan Versa SR. The car had $3000 in accessories and an OTD asking price of $26,000. I negotiated the price down to $21,000 OTD and the dealership agreed as long as my friend financed with them, which he did. So he received a fantastic deal! On top of that, the Nissan dealership treated my friend and myself like we were Kings! Premium coffee, delicious snacks, and chilled mineral water gratis at the lounge area! Free tank of gas and another free tank as long as my friend returned in a few weeks and did the manufacturer survey with the salesman. Free pen and keychain! Everyone from the salesman to the sales manager was friendly! The finance manager became cold when we refused all the extended warranties but that's to be expected from finance managers. Everyone was cheering us on and congratulating us on our smart purchase! We both left with huge smiles on our faces and drove away into the sunlight in a fancy shiny new Versa with tons of luxury features that even a Mercedes Benz wouldn't have 20 years ago!

Everywhere I’ve read that the chance of getting a health/attack/defense/MP funi is equal in areas where they spawn but I have literally not encountered a single health funi in 20+ encounters. The statistical chance of that is (3/4)20 = 0.00317 i.e. 0.3%. There is no way I am that unlucky.
Does anyone have a surefire way to farm health Funis?
