I am flying to India and back in 2 weeks with a 7 hour layover in Singapore. I was planning to just wait in the airport lounges at Changi but my friend (US Citizen) who is going with me wants to get out of the airport and see the city since he has never been there before. I am an Indian citizen with US green card that makes me eligible for Visa Free Transfer Facility (VFTF) in Singapore for 96 hours. I have used that once before.
However, now my Green Card is expired. I have applied for a renewal and have the USCIS I-756 that extends the validity of the green card by 48 months. But I don’t think the Singapore immigration officer would accept that letter. I emailed the local Singapore consulate but they responded that it is completely up to the immigration officer if they allow me entry or not. So, my question is : should I try my luck and see if the immigration officer grants me entry? I’d be OK doing that if they just deny the entry and I can just go back to transit area. But I’m worried there might be other consequences of “trying my luck” “like extended questioning in a locked room or a denied stamp in my passport. Does anyone have an idea if that would be the case. At this point, I don’t want to apply for a Visitor Visa as then I have to physically go to the consulate in another City. Plus reading online, Singapore sometimes denies visa applications for short layovers anyway. So, if there could be issues with being denied VFTF, I’d just rather not go through immigration.
If someone have you experience or insight into this process, I’d really appreciate it.

My office has a J139 and I'm trying to find a way to indicate to others at a glance whether I'm on the phone or not.
I looked into this, but from what I've heard it plugs directly into the phone and will only light up while the phone is off the hook and doesn't have any way to tell if you're using the speakerphone.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I just need to rant.
I absolutely hate April in these last two episodes. I wasn't a big fan of her before that, but after watching the shooting episodes, I genuinely don't know how Meredith wasn't pissed at her.
Derek was working on calming down the shooter. He was working on it so well that the shooter had lowered the gun and was listening to Derek. But dumbass April decides to barge through the door loudly (when she knows the hospital is in lockdown due to a shooter!) and loudly says "Oh Dr Shepherd!" and whatever else her line was. Does she not have any common sense??
And that causes Derek to reflexively turn around, and that in turn causes the shooter to remember his original mission, and he shoots Derek. Which then leads to Derek nearly dying, and Meredith having a miscarriage.
Meredith saw the whole thing unfold, and I don't know how she wasn't more angry at April. She did tell her that she didn't have the right to cry the way she did, but still.
It just genuinely annoys me when I see people like this go to pieces during a crisis. I know April was maybe just emotional and an empathetic doctor, etc., but why in the world would she just start whimpering and going into hysterics at the worst time? She's a doctor who has worked in the emergency unit before too; I feel like she ought to have been more equipped to handle this. Christina also had to tell her to shut up when they were trying to find an attending on the floor, because she starting panicking loudly again.
Even Bailey and Christina started crying and feeling scared through the whole ordeal, but they didn't lose their heads and go to pieces the way April did. I know April was scared and saw her friend shot dead too, but I'm just so irritated at the senseless way she barged in on Derek and the shooter.
I'm sorry if anyone is an April fan or anything. It's just that I'm watching this for the first time, and needed to vent. It's true what they say about fictional characters: the story may be fictional, but my annoyance is real.
I started watching Season 7 now, but I'm finding myself skipping scenes that April is in, because I cannot stand this character.
