My first post here. First day of training tomorrow, absolutely zero experience in jiu jitsu. I did Taewkando for years when I was younger but gave it up during Covid and have done Muay Thai for the last year and have missed combat sports. I'm joining an academy local to me, but I'm not sure what to expect on the first day. Are there any tips you all can give me so I can be best prepared? aside from the obvious, hygiene, respect and such.

I am a female dev at a bank with 5 YOE. Due to many shakeups at the company, I have been working the past 3 years for an opposite coast team. We were given RTO orders around a year ago, which means I've been going into the large nearby office x4 a week with only one other coworker in my department.
I was informed recently that this RTO was not cutting it, and that I need to relocate to a tech hub office, all 4 of which are in other states.
If I don't relocate, I would be let go around August and given a 6 month severance package.
I'm not truly interested in staying with my company for all the usual reasons: this was my first job out of college and the next promotion would be 6 years away/I'm not getting the mentorship and support I need/my life is in my current state and I want to stay. I am ready for a new hybrid job where I can actually be with my team in person and get technical and professional mentorship.
In my personal life, the plan was to move in with my partner this year. I would prefer to do this and live off severance + savings and focus on finding a new job.
However, I'm worried about giving up a job in this market, especially living in a HCOL area.
Do I take the offer as a backup, study and interview like crazy until I'm forced to move by July, and then worst case scenario relocate?
The location I'd pick is the next state over in a MCOL city where no coworkers or managers are located. I'd rent a furnished apartment and hide out there, continuing to study and interview until I land a new position. Obviously though I'd be physically isolated from my support system and likely miserable.
On my team I'm considered a good developer, but we push more paperwork than code. I got my ass kicked in technical interviews out of college, and actually got this job with no whiteboarding/take home problems (instead collaborated on a word problem with my old manager + was asked technical questions), so while I'm starting to dive into the leetcode grind I am nervous about it.
Is having a job while interviewing worth putting my life on pause in this market?
TL;DR: Company is requiring relocation to another state by summer, do I take 6 months severance in August and run or do I move and continue to interview for my next job while I'm out there?

2025.01.25 00:54 xXWyatt101Xx T430 Toshiba Fan Optimization (Cutting) with I7-3840QM
Final product- Cut it with a Dremel cutoff wheel, then ground around the rough edges and corners with a ball bit. I've also wrapped the two heatpipes in copper tape to try and \"link\" them together, and better utilize the second heatpipe.
Heatsink before the mod- notice how much smaller the holes are on the bottom.
I also added a few small holes on the bottom of the case around where the fan is, also done with the dremel. They're ugly from this side, but when you look from the outside they're not super noticeable, I didn't drill around the entire area to try and retain some of the original intended airflow and air channels that went through the Wifi card area and ram.
I got a T430, and have pretty much upgraded it as much as i can- and I7 3840qm, 16gb of ram, FHD IPS display, SSD, and the dgpu cooler. The seller advertised it with the FRU for the Delta fan, but i received the Toshiba one instead. It was much louder than my old Detla igpu cooler, and the 3840qm still overheated (90-100 when fully loaded). When brainstorming how to cool it better, i noticed the bottom fan intake area was far smaller on the toshiba than the delta- what if i just made it bigger? so i did, as shown in the pictures. It still gets hot, getting to around 90-92 when doing some light gaming- It is FAR quieter than before however- much closer to the delta fan than before, with a lower pitch sound and more airflow. I'm sure someone has done this before but I haven't seen a post about it yet, so i figured I'd share this for fellow T430 fans.

I just got my P1S I ordered after Christmas. During the setup process after entering my wifi information I enabled LAN Only Mode on the printer before the app moved on (the app seemed to be hung as I wasn't logged in but it wouldn't let me log in either). Now I can't get the QR code to show up to connect in the app and trying to bind the printer via IP address and Access Code doesn't do anything (it says it's connecting, closes the dialog, but doesn't add anything).
- Is there anything I can do to salvage this other than a factor reset?
- Is it possible to setup the printer in LAN only mode?

 | Our Sphynx has had chronic sneezing and runny nose ever since we got her. We have taken her to the vet dozens of times with it mostly being brushed off as allergies or some possible virus. For a while we have been in a cycle (~ 5 months) of getting her steroids where should would gain an appetite and weight, become super active without the runny nose. Then as the steroids wore off loose some appetite and weight, start a runny nose and being lethargic. The vet just did a blood test and they say she has the FeCV. For the longest time we assumed it was feline herpes. The vet also said it might be FIPs and told us about the GS anti-viral drug. Upon our research the symptoms of FIPs don’t seem to match. No clouding in the eyes, no bloating. But we are concerned and don’t want to take this lightly. Does this match FIPs? Should we be concerned? Recently it has been pointed out to me that I am ambitionless, also that I lie to myself most of the time that my family see me as not worth the investment. Ever since I was in elementary I've always had suicidal thoughts, wanting to die before I enter the school gates also constantly thinking of ways to end it all. As an adult, I never really thought of pursuing anything because the thought that I will die soon is the excuse I give myself to not do anything at all. And now that I reached a certain age, I dont have any reason to live for. the thought of death has become the only thing that has been ever constant and hoping that someday I will die without even trying. I guess what scares me is the process of death. If there's a way to change my mindset then I'd gladly take it, but the scars that has been suppressed for a long time is too deep to heal even for myself. But is there still a way to save this mind though? just curious if I can still be saved.
