Hi Team :)
First of all I’m conscious about the path I am going to take in my modular journey, but since I’ve read a lot of interesting posts over there. I’m really curious about what You have to say. Every idea would be my pleasure. I use eurorack as a synth unit run with octatrack. Couple of synth on the shelves too :) Every idea is welcomed :) It is not a shout for help though. Go :)

Look, I know we live next to military bases and it’s not uncommon to hear booms. However, the other day my girlfriend and I were outside in mission valley and heard a huge explosion sound that seemed different than typical military stuff. I’ve heard more than that too. This is also being heard in a lot of other places in the US.
Has anyone else heard anything like this?

2025.01.25 04:10 Glass_Ad_2086 AITAH for asking my friend for $25?
So I had a friend of about two and a half years who I used to go out to clubs and stuff with all the time on the weekends. We got pretty close and we never really argued or got into conflicts with each other. About a month ago I was in a bad spot and I texted him and asked him if I could borrow $25. He didn't reply. I sent him a message a few days later just trying him how my week was and he didn't reply.
About two more weeks later I sent him a text asking if he was going to hit up any clubs this weekend. He hasn't replied at all. I'm assuming he doesn't want to talk to me anymore because I asked to borrow money from him. I don't know that for sure, but he had been texting me earlier that day and we were cool.

2025.01.25 04:10 LV3000N Thoughts on Annihilation
I’d love to hear your view on this book as well.
I loved the cosmic horror element. Almost lovecraftian in nature. The explanation of The Crawler being completely incomprehensible was very well done. I ended up imagining it as constantly shifting and moving in a geometric way whilst emanating light. The creature in the reeds was also really fun to imagine despite appearing briefly. The exoskeleton like face appearing in the water was terrifying.
The realization that “annihilation!” Was a hypnotism command to induce suicide was really crazy and such a cool way to reveal what the title of the book was about.
In my head I almost imagined that the light at the bottom of the “towetunnels” stairs was the entrance into the light house. An “as above so below” kind of thing. But the line about it feeling like eyes were watching her as she walked away made me wonder.
I really enjoyed hearing about her relationship with her husband and how they always seemed to feel distant from each other. By the very end I felt that despite being no where near eachother and him not even being alive they were closer than ever having experienced Area X. His writings in his journal to her were heart warming in a way.
The “brightness” was such a crazy way to explain the transformation (whatever transformation that is) and was so interesting and different. I loved moments like her killing the surveyor with a supernatural ability to sense and feel the environment and impending danger.
Finally I loved the ending. Her acceptance that she was destined to become a part of the environment in the end was fascinating and her attempts to seek out her husband whether he’s alive or dead was a bit harrowing as well. She just wants to experience what he experienced after being transformed both mentally and physically.

The DAC makes this awful noise over my headphones every 15 minutes or so, basically sounds like a loud, digitally distorted screeching that lasts for around 5 seconds. What the heck can I do about it?

yes i FEEL better because i’m lighter, but i still don’t think i’m much more physically attractive.
now, instead of being insecure for being fat, i’m insecure about a lot of other things that only showed itself after i lost weight. if you’re curious i went from 230lbs to 155, 5’4.
i now have a lot of loose skin that will cost thousands upon thousands of dollars that i don’t have if i ever want to remove it. stretch marks that will never go away. i also learned that i have naturally broad shoulders, a small chest, and the flattest most unattractive ass i’ve ever seen. all that only really revealed itself after i lost weight. and as a woman, those aren’t features almost anyone finds attractive when they’re altogether. i’m terrified that a future girlfriend (not a typo), will take one look at what i look like underneath my clothes and instantly get turned off and leave.
i’ve been fat all my life. oh, and i’m also only 19. so i literally have no idea what it’s like to be thin and pretty. and i don’t think i ever will. i feel shitty blaming my parents but… 200 lbs at 13 wasn’t healthy. and don’t get me wrong, i do feel better, but i’m still just as insecure as i was before. it didn’t go away, it just manifested itself in a different way.
