It's hard pretending you're not sad and upset about something when you are in fact sad and upset.
I've always wanted to be a student teacher in science for years now. I got happy when I was finally chosen, but a virus started spreading in our class. It's not deadly or dangerous, but the school wanted to protect us so they shifted us online. A couple of days later, I got a message saying they've replaced me. It's sad since this year is my last year here and I never got the chance to become a student teacher in science.
It seems that everytime I hope for something, that something never happens, but everytime I convince myself to just not hope for it, it happens.

This is so frustrating.
This isn’t specific to any professional, but all — and in particular it’s my GP currently.
I understand it’s a professional relationship with boundaries and I’ve no intent to cross them. I try to be open and honest about how I’m feeling, what’s impacting me, but it’s difficult.
And I’d try changing GPs, except this happens with every one of them. I experience it with counsellors too.
It isn’t sexual/romantic (though admittedly he is attractive, so I am willing to say perhaps - though I’m not sure? - this may slightly influence things? I really don’t know) but more so a parental authority figure who I’m scared of disappointing, so I agree to things I know might be of little help and try to be a “good” patient by not advocating for myself, being compliant, over-compensating with explanations as to why things failed. It also interferes with any prospect of future physical examinations due to shame.
But he’s an attentive GP, even if he doesn’t specialise in mental health, and actually - at least for the most part - is okay with my requests to see face to face as he understands I struggle with communication. He gives me time to think, doesn’t rush me, and actually listens when I have issues. Perhaps this is because he’s a relatively new GP, I’m not sure, but I also want this continuity of care because it’s exhausting rehashing it out again and again.
But I don’t want to confide in it because I’m scared it’ll creep him out etc, even if they are taught how to deal with transference. I’m also feeling so much shame, too, as it’s a fairly taboo thing.

Hello. I'm a 44 year old woman. Diagnosed with hypothyroidism and on Synthroid for approximately twenty years. My dose has had to be adjusted up and down at various times. Been on 137mcg/day for about ten years now I'd say. However, I slacked off and didn't get my thyroid tested for approximately seven years. Bad, I know.
Anyway - finally trying to get myself together and I went to my PCP and got bloodwork done the other day.
based on my research, my results may be indicative of Hashimoto's, in addition to the hypothyroidism I already knew I had. I had elevated antibodies at least once before, but no one ever actually told me I had Hashimoto's.
I've had symptoms such as brain fog, anxiety, inability to lose weight, hands and feet feeling cold/etc. I've had worse symptoms before, in the past, before I was on medication, but when I'm thinking about it, I should have realized my thyroid was out of wack
Really just wondering what people think should be done here. I'm assuming an increase of thyroid meds....anything else I should be asking my doctor for?

2025.01.25 04:20 Trogmar Div2 Current Pc performance?
Last time I tried the game was about a year ago. and had a lot of issues of random crashing that made the game basically unplayable. I would happen completely random with no set intervals in between. I have since upgraded my computer , even though it was above the well minimum specs. How is the games current performance?

2025.01.25 04:20 FlagDroid I keep running into this error.
I think it's because I deleted the partitions in order to put Kubuntu but it's weird I keep running into this error and after rebooting a number of times it finally boots like normal.
Got any ideas? I've tried reinstalling chromeos firmware but it's not working.

I’ve recently been having daily panic attacks. It started from me taking a huge dose of vitamin b12. I’ve gotten a lot better but I still will have bursts of panic.
I’ve was prescribed Xanax .25mg and they have helped immensely.
I have read that Xanax is meant to be taken temporarily/not long term.
So my question is: how long is “temporarily”?
I want to be able to use it as long as I need it but I don’t want to become dependent. At most I plan on using it is a couple months, only twice a day as needed.
((I think this is a more appropriate question for my Dr but he can’t see me for another month.))
