Thinking of getting my first car and I’m keen on these models. It’s just for everyday use - going to the office or groceries etc. Occasional trips to and from Angeles to Laguna. What do you guys think?

2025.01.25 04:02 LowWork7128 Practical advice and tips that have really helped me on my recovery journey.

I wanted to share some practical advice and tips that have really helped me on my recovery journey. I know how tough it can be, and I hope these insights can offer some support and encouragement to those of you who are also navigating this path.
Coping Strategies

  1. Identify Your Triggers: One of the first things I did was to figure out what triggered my urge to drink. Whether it's certain people, places, or emotions, knowing your triggers can help you avoid or manage them better.
  2. Find Healthy Outlets: Instead of reaching for a drink, I started engaging in activities that helped me cope with stress and emotions. For me, exercise, meditation, and journaling have been incredibly beneficial.
  3. Stay Connected: Building a strong support network has been crucial. Regularly attending support group meetings, like AA, has provided me with a sense of community and accountability.
  4. Set Realistic Goals: Breaking down my recovery journey into manageable steps has kept me motivated. Celebrating small victories along the way has made a big difference.
  5. Practice Self-Care: Taking care of my physical and mental well-being has been a priority. Getting enough sleep, eating nutritious meals, and doing things that bring me joy have all been part of my self-care routine.
Healthy Habits
  1. Exercise Regularly: Physical activity has been a game-changer for me. It boosts my mood, reduces stress, and improves my overall health. Find an exercise routine that you enjoy and can stick to.
  2. Eat a Balanced Diet: Eating well has helped my body heal and given me the energy I need for recovery. I focus on whole foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.
  3. Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water is essential. I aim for at least eight glasses a day to keep my body hydrated and functioning well.
  4. Establish a Routine: Having a daily routine has provided structure and stability in my life. Planning my day with activities that promote well-being has kept me engaged and focused.
  5. Avoid High-Risk Situations: I steer clear of environments where I might be tempted to drink, like bars or parties. It's all about creating a safe space for myself.
Resources for Support
  1. Support Groups: Joining a support group like AA or SMART Recovery has been invaluable. It's a community of people who understand my struggles and offer guidance and encouragement.
  2. Therapy and Counseling: Working with a therapist has helped me address underlying issues related to my alcoholism and develop healthier coping strategies.
  3. Online Resources: There are so many helpful online resources out there. Websites like the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) andAlcohol.org offer valuable information and support.
  4. Hotlines: If you need immediate support, consider reaching out to a hotline. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) offers a national helpline that provides free, confidential support 24/7.
  5. Books and Literature: Reading about recovery has provided me with insights and inspiration. Some of my favorite reads include "The Big Book" by Alcoholics Anonymous and "This Naked Mind" by Annie Grace.
Remember, recovery is a personal journey, and what works for one person might not work for another. Be patient with yourself, stay committed, and don't hesitate to seek help when you need it. You're not alone in this journey, and with the right support and strategies, you can achieve lasting sobriety.
Stay strong, everyone!

2025.01.25 04:02 PuzzlingGames To be (graded) or not to be?

Greetings everyone, I got these cards from my late Aunt a few years ago. I know baseball a decent amount, but I know more current stuff than this era. I know these cards/names are good, but my main question is should I get these graded? I don't plan on selling them soon, but does it hurt to get them in the slabs? Then I went to an LCS and they said for this era to do SGC over PSA, and from the few threads I have read that is the go-to.
I don't know if it is true for SGC as it is for PSA, but you have to pay fees based on the grade of the card. Is there a way to know how much the fee would be? Do you look up databases and just assume most will be a 1/3 and go based on that price?
Thanks for your help, everyone! I have a few binders so I might have some others, but these are decent names I know personally. If you want any pictures closer up or anything I am working on finally making a spreadsheet with all the cards I have.

Inherited the meat slicer, still works well, but definitely could use a little love, especially the blade. Any recommendations on who would service something like this?

2025.01.25 04:02 sandfrayed Self-assist with more than one bag per person in Galveston, possible?

We each have a backpack plus a suitcase. Are they going to prevent us from taking the escalator if we do self-assist departure? We technically have a free hand, so I think that means they allow it?
I would also really like to know if the regular luggage claim process is easy or difficult. I haven't been able to find a clear description of what's involved with that. Does it take a long time to get your bags that way?

2025.01.25 04:02 Economy-Word-6124 Cramping / tenderness 24 hours after polyp removal?

👋🏽 hi, my ultrasound showed a polyp or what could have been an early pregnancy loss (we sent tissue to pathology) and she removed it during impromptu hysteroscopy yesterday— I was awake and it was really hard. I’m cramping more now than before. Feels tender and hurts to cough.
She said 3-5 days of cramping.
Is this normal? I have some PTSD from past stuff so hoping for words of affirmation.

Alright, my wife played ES as the base word and then makes "veto" and "is" as parallel words. I told her I don't think it's legal since ES isn't technically connected to the board to start with. Am I wrong?
