I've never posted on here not sure if I did this right.. But I had an experience that is unexplainable that nobody believes me happened.. I was driving for Dr.peppesnapple back in 2016. I worked nights and from 5 P.M to 5 A.M and I pulled two trailers to their warehouse from Chattanooga Tn to a suburb of Atlanta I can't remember the name of the town but it was right off of I285. I make two trips in 12 hour period and load 4 trailers. Obviously my first trip would take the longest because I'd hit Atlanta round 5:30-5:45 P.M worse traffic time. I loaded up and was on my way back to Chattanooga to drop first two trailers off it was around 6:30 P.M on 285 traffic was of course barely moving I seen the sighn Chattanooga exit this way all of a sudden I was driving on a skinny highway unaware of where I was.. I have a good sense of direction so when I seen a gas station turned around and drove about 10 miles and found the interstate again, I realized was maybe 25 miles north of 285 on I75.. and barely anytime had passed. It wasn't even 7 yet. I finished my night that night around 2:30 A.M maybe 3.. this isn't the only time I lost time but one that cause of time I know something happened. Has this happened to anyone else??

 | Bought this axe after almost a year of saving up. Ordered this baby from Thomann on December 7th last year and got it this week. Had a lot of help from this sub to finally decide whether to get it or not. Their customer service was really great. They were very patient with my questions. They even combined the orders which I had for this bass and a minotaur leather strap (which I forgot to place on the same order as the bass) in order to cut shipping costs. The reason for the long delivery time was mainly the customs in our country. Took almost three weeks before it was cleared. The bass is really great. However, I haven’t tried it personally as I am working out of the country. I just let my dad play on this beauty while I’m still out of the country. 2025.01.26 07:00 Detective-Limp Fermi Paradox, what if light is too slow? Or we simply havent been around long enough
As i understand it, people say "where are the aliens" and the fact that the universe isnt teeming with alien life is wild. But lets assume that the time it takes for intelligent life to form is a period of time, T. The universe is 13.8 billion years old and it took that long for intelligent life to form (humans have been around 200,000 and only been doing stuff that would have gotten us noticed for a few decades).
Therefore, what if the universe IS teeming with life, however, we just havent seen the light yet. If it takes time T for life to develop then shouldnt we only be concerned with the lack of aliens when we see no alien life after time 'T+light years between you and whatever system you are observing'
Using this, the andromeda galaxy isnt even old enough to have intelligent life and when it does in a few billion years, we'd only see the light from those civilizations after a it crossed that cosmic expanse. Therefore there could be life in andromeda right now, we just cant see it.
Perhaps, lets use the age of our solar system instead of the age of the universe. Now we have 4.6 billion years. Heres where there paradox makes more sense. Our solar system is new many other stars that are 4.6 billion years ahead of us. And light takes 100,000 years to cross the milky way, so we should be able to see people doing type 3 civilization stuff and we dont...however the galaxy is massive. What if the answer to the fermi paradox is that we simply havent been around long enough...also life on earth could have ended 3-5 times already and only recently was it intelligence...there could we worlds of dolphins/deeplants that just life out their lives until their star dies...therefore I think you cant assume the age of our solar system, as how long it should take life to evolve, but the age of our universe to this point. If you do that, i dont think there's a paradox at all...factor in mass extinctions events, the odds that the extinction events may occur too early for a young civilation to do anything about it, an extinction even breaking or completly resting the chain of life..all those things make it seem that just using the age of the earth for the fermi paradox is a bad assumption. Hell, if there was no mass extinction events, would intelligent life have ever evolved!?! All this life on this planet and only 1 billions of years of life is 'intelligent'.
What do you guys think? Whats an appropriate assumption for the amount of time it should take a galaxy to produce an intelligent species? If its 4.6 billion years and we think the kardashev scale is the trajectory of all intelligent life, then we have a problem. It may be that it takes 13.8 billion years and the next few 100,000 years will be the most telling in determining whether there is other intelligent life in our galaxy..

I began getting a neuroma in 2022 and experienced such searing pain that I pretty quickly went to a podiatrist - since then I’ve had steroid injections, taken steroid pills, and been bouncing around trying to find shoes that will not make it flare up when I exercise! So far, only alters lone peaks work - I’ve tried Altra road runners and Sauconies and some merels and they immediately numb my foot out I think due to the heel support putting more pressure on my ball. I just bought topos pursuits with the hope that they could last a bit longer than an altra.
Anyway. My neuroma is all calloused and hard now, like it wasn’t before. There used to be a small space of soft skin and now it’s swollen and seemingly a permanent bump. It is really obvious when compared to my right foot which is fine. I’m reading that it just gets worse with time. Is this true? I try not to freak it out but I’m a firefighter and am required to wear boots that are difficult to find with a wide toe box and to hike uphill, primarily using the ball of my foot.
I guess I’m also looking for advice for any hard hikers out there with neuromas…. What the hell do you do? I’m lucky mine only flares up with exercise, uphills, or excessively heel padded shoes (my favorite merrel hikers I used to love now just drive me nuts 🥜 I’m basically always in altars or oofos when not in my boots now), but sometimes I am required to hike uphill for days at a time and no chance for recovery.

I haven’t touched based with pcs in a while, so I am still in the 30-series life and I recently bought a pc with a 3090 ti and i9-12900k for 1200. I thought that was a great price, but after reading online, everyone seems to hate on it. Is a 3090ti setup for 1200 not worth it? It crazy to me that a 4070 is better than a 3090ti, it just doesn’t feel right to say. With the 50 series releasing soon, i now feel like I would’ve beeb better off finding a good deal for a 4070ti or 4080. Is this true?
TLDR: Did i waste money buying a setup with 3090ti for 1200 dollars?
