Last night, I attended a play titled Grenade, which was marketed as "a comedy about a comedian." As a fan of stand-up comedy, I was intrigued by the premise and hoped the play would offer a peek into the inner workings of a comedian's mind. Unfortunately, what unfolded on stage bore little resemblance to the promised concept.
The story centered around a brother concealing a marriage prospect from his sister, with the titular "Grenade" being a comedian in name only—a detail that was entirely irrelevant to the plot. In fact, the character's profession seemed so disconnected from the narrative that the play occasionally resorted to clunky, forced reminders about it. The writing lacked focus, and the dialogues felt sloppy. The humor, especially the jokes delivered by the comedian character, was disappointingly basic, leaving me questioning the creative direction.
The performances, however, were a saving grace to some extent. The two actresses brought authenticity to their roles, but the male performers often felt exaggerated, reminiscent of caricatures from SAB TV's FIR. While their efforts were evident, the overall execution lacked cohesion and polish.
Another misstep was the advertising integration within the play. References to brands like C7 and a boutique felt awkwardly shoehorned into the dialogue, coming across as low-effort and jarring in an already disjointed production.
What stood out positively was the turnout. It was heartwarming to see a supportive crowd championing local theater, even though I later discovered that many in attendance were friends or family of the cast and crew. This underscores the need for honest feedback, which I hope will drive improvement in future productions.
In conclusion, Grenade failed to deliver on its premise, leaving me disappointed with what felt like a missed opportunity. The play’s marketing promised a deep, comedic exploration of a comedian's world, but what was delivered was an unfocused story devoid of depth and cohesion. While local theater deserves support, it also deserves a higher standard of storytelling.

Hi there!! I write Lit/Novella (4 paragraphs at my lowest and 2x the discord character limit at my peak lol), and I write in 3rd person. I'm in PST but am active throughout the day, and I try to reply at least once a day. I prefer MxM pairings but am open to anything and I love talking out of character :).
Alright, now that's out of the way, lemme tell you what I'm looking for!! I am a huge fan of the otherworld trope/portal fantasy. Characters from one world get transported to another that's much different from theirs, and have to go on a long adventure to get home. Think Amphibia, Owl House, Over the Garden Wall, that sorta trope.
I have two characters I would like to do with this idea; A human and a dragon.
Dylan and Toshiko grew up with each other. The two live in a modern world where humans and monsters live alongside each other, and though a pairing like theirs is a bit odd, it's not questioned very much. Dylan is loud and bubbly, a blonde wannabe rockstar that practically bounces off the wall with all his energy. Meanwhile, Toshiko is a bit more reclusive and doesn't care for Dylan's crazy lifestyle, she runs a small arcade and enjoys a quiet life with her wife. The two have been best friends forever and are constantly getting into some kind of trouble, so why not throw them into a new world?
I'd prefer some sort of medieval fantasy setting, maybe a world where humans and monsters being friends is unheard of. Or if you have a world of your own you wanna throw my two dum-dums through, I'm totally open to your ideas!!
I guess I'm just sort of looking for someone to basically DM for me, show me their world and their characters and go on a fun adventure with me :D. So if that sounds like fun or if you have any questions, shoot me a message!!

I’m on stuck on Oaths and Debts, and don’t know if I’m missing something, or if it’s bugged. My current objective is to see what witchcraft powers are for sale at the altar. Well, I’ve done that, multiple times, and I’ve bought all the available powers. It persists after I restart the game.

I know it is disappointing to see yet another post criticizing issues in Algeria, but I can’t help it when it comes to the state of therapy here. It often feels like many therapists lack proper training and are more focused on making money than providing real help.
From my own experiences with therapists and psychiatrists in Algeria, most of them weren’t great. The therapists I visited acted as if they could magically understand what I was going through without asking meaningful questions or genuinely listening to me. Sessions lasted anywhere from 3 to 10 minutes, and I still had to pay 2000 DA—honestly, it felt like a scam. (No wonder people would prefer to go to drugs instead of seeking professional help)
That said, I did have one positive experience with a therapist who eventually referred me to a skilled psychiatrist. During one of the darkest periods of my life, when I was seriously considering ending it all, this therapist’s guidance and support made a significant difference.
Good professionals do exist, but unfortunately, they seem to be rare.

I’m looking to start my first fursuit sometime in the near future, so I have a few questions I’m hoping someone can answer. 1. What is the estimated amount money needed for a fursuit? I’m currently saving up money for supplies (mainly so I don’t spend it on something stupid) but I’m not sure how much I’ll need. 2. What are the best stores / businesses to buy foam and fur from? I have a Joannes fabric near me and I already know about Howls fabric, so those are accounted for. 3. What supplies will I need to start working on it? I already own a sewing machine, along with many needles and string for hand sewing. I already have brushes and sharpies. I know I’m missing a lot of materials but either I’m not sure what they are or I’m planning to get them soon. 4. What is the best part of the fursuit to start on? I’m guessing the head would be the best place to start, but I’m not entirely sure. 5. What are the best materials to use for insulation / cooling? I know how hot it gets in fursuits so I’m wondering what the best methods of staying cool are. I know people install fans in the head, but are there alternatives?
