When the XPTs are retired anytime between next year and 2050, I don’t want some small farewell with 1 train, a man who built them and a man who drove them and other people giving speeches. I want every XPT set lined up at central for 1 hopefully 2 days as a big celebration of what they did for this state, carried the torch of public transport through the dark ages and still remain some of the most capable passenger trains this country has ever seen.
Then a run that they can sell tickets on for outrageous prices to wherever the preserved XPT/s will be kept. One last hurrah before they are cut up into little pieces. What would you add? Also if anyone has any ability to control or have input on this please I beg you make it impressive.

Too often I see a carry built up and ready to unleash the hate…but then they miss every shot.
This isn’t Counter Strike or some other game where aim is a high skill cap mechanic. There’s no recoil, no hit probability buffer, no damage falloff, no projectile ballistics, no recoil patterns, no movement penalty…nothing.
The hit boxes are quite generously larger than the actual character models, and it’s all hit-scan…there is no way to miss without…you know…missing. It’s one step past a point and click adventure.
I suppose this is a consequence of having a third person shooter perspective in a MOBA, but god damn people. The bar is extremely low as far as aim goes. Onixian Quiver gives you a massive crutch, albeit with reduced damage for the side shots…and yet somehow people still miss shots regularly…including the side shots.
What I’m saying is that if you can’t aim, you have no business playing ADC.
MOBAs are extremely team based games. 4 pros and 1 newbie vs 5 average players will almost certainly result in a victory for the latter. Every position is that important. MOBAs are somewhat unique in this. There is too much ground to cover, too many variables to consider, too much strategy involved, for any team member to consistently drop the ball. It doesn’t matter how good everyone else is, a weak link will sink the ship.
This especially goes for the carry. By late game, the focus is on winning team fights. If all goes well, the whole team is setting up enemies to get melted by the carry and/or protecting the carry This only works if the carry can hit their target.
So I say again, if you can’t aim, you have no business playing ADC.

Heather just makes Bronwyn seem so uppity bc she uses a wider vocab. And none of these ladies are less uppity than the other 😂

i think the more i interact with people the more judgmental i become, and the more i realize how strange and inauthentic people are.
i speak to people at work or online and it feels like i have to constantly put up a mask, like in order to get by i have to be painfully fake and deceptive. people themselves do such strange things and say such strange things without a second thought, yet the moment i speak, i’m looked at like i’m the odd one.
i just don’t really feel connected to anyone at all. i can’t pinpoint what has caused this, what overarching thing, but i almost feel no reason to be close to others anymore.
most connection is filled with pain, and even more so filled with deceit. love is painfully vulnerable and drastically over idealized, none of it seems worth it. nothing seems worth it to me other than surviving another day for the hell of it.
maybe i’m bitter, maybe my mind is fried, maybe isolation is taking its toll on me — who knows.

This has been driving me crazy for months now.
I have a Prestige RG5121. Hardtail guitar, setup in E standard with 9-46 strings. Recently the G string will randomly go SUPER flat, like almost down a half step. I have tried many things to fix this: filling and recutting the nut slot, lubricating it, making sure my locking tuners are tightened, both the locking thumbscrew and nut attaching it to the headstock, i have even swapped the B and G string tuners with each other to see if the issue would move but it remains only on the G string.
My experience as a tech says this has to be a nut issue but I am not sure what else I could do to the slot. I have made it wide enough and not too low or high, so my only other option is replacing the nut. The string will go flat randomly sometimes when I am not even playing or bending it really. It is so bizarre and I have not had this issue with any other guitar like this. and I of course have tried a few new sets of strings, and stretched them for sure.
Any ideas?

Stuck between these for graphic design. Norwich has a good reviews, good course, really good and cheap accommodation, is somewhere I visit often which would make me comfortable but also not as exciting exploring a place I wouldn't be able to normally. Bournemouth has great student work examples and I want to learn moving imagery/character design/3D and elements of games art and design which I felt I would be able to explore better at Bournemouth and the student work showed exactly what I wanted to create. I'm not a huge fan of the accommodation and don't care for being near a beach or nightlife. Bournemouth would be a new place I can explore and experience something new.
Same offers for both.

Just a random curious thought. I don't know why but I feel like we'd be flutes if we were a musical instrument.
Maybe because it's often a solo instrument in orchestras, similar to how we are often alone (but not necessarily lonely)? It's also a wind instrument—wind can be associated with "freedom" or generally "feeling free" I guess—and we value freedom and authenticity?
What are your thoughts?

There has been a lot of conversation about a possible album delay again, DITF being removed, and the album cover… I just wanted to talk about what I think is actually realistically gonna happen.
No the album is not being delayed… It’s coming on the 31st everybody can calm down. Now what could happen and it’s been widely theorized that the album is split into two parts. We may get PART 1 on the 1/31 and PART 2 later in the year if the double album is true. I don’t actually think there will be 2 separate albums but one long album that has a very definite vibe change.
If there is in fact 2 separate albums then that could explain the description of the album cover on instagram being “first pressing”. I don’t know much about vinyl or the production that goes into but I really just think it’s there to define what the main album cover is because there has been so many variants of the album cover.
DITF being removed off his instagram is strange to say the least but isn’t strange enough to be worried. DITF has received a lot of criticism because of the differences between the live and studio version, but if anything he is removing the song because like Take my Breath it will be extended and modified for the album version. We know from files on, I believe, Mike Deans laptop that there was something labeled “DITF transition” so the song is probably being tweaked rn to meet expectations.

I switched to Resolve from Premiere because I was tired of Adobe's BS. I have one huge issue though. For whatever reason, audio waveform generation takes ages in Davinci Resolve compared to Premiere but only when my files are on an NAS. Premiere did not have this problem. Has anyone else had this issue?
I have a Synology DS220, updated to the latest firmware and software version if that helps at all. Been having this issue for over a year and just now decided to start looking into it, any advice would be greatly appreciated
