People who believe in determinism (and thus absence of free will) - when they are trying to convince others of determinism - aren't they violating their belief?
As in what's their rationate? If they truly believe in determinism, why are they putting in the effort to write about it or do podcasts or make videos about it? Whether someone will be convinced or not is already determined!
Is it that, while they are going through the motions of doing something ... they are thinking "I am doing this as I was predetermined to?".
I don't have a hard time wrapping my head around determinism, but around how people who agree with it live ... unless of course they suspend that belief in their day to day life.

As someone living with ME, ADHD, fibromyalgia, migraines, IBS, POTS, and more, I know how overwhelming it can feel to juggle so many symptoms all at once. Then why is it no Native American tribes ever had any pelts, wearings or body parts of bigfoots if it were a flesh and blood animal?
The answer is obvious. Bigfoot and the majority of cryptids don't exist. We would've found them by now. Especially with Environmental DNA at helm.
Ex. platypus was once considered a hoax but even then that took at most a year to prove its existence. Nessie has been in the public eye for nine decades and bigfoot for six.
Yet we haven't found actual proof of large megafauna that is bigfoot or lake monsters? Especially when whales are commonly seen in the oceans all the time yet we can't find large creatures in lakes that are a lot smaller.
The only explanation for such existence of creatures is if they were supernatural in nature like interdimensional beings that come into our world and out.

Hello. I am a Drukhari player and I read the Lelith Hesperax book and I'm interested in starting a Ynnari army, but the new codex makes me question if it will exist into 11th edition. Yvrain, the Yncarne, and the Visarch are already online only, and it seems that the lore for the Ynnari is kinda cooked lol. Would it still be ok for me to get into Ynnari or should I focus on Harlequins to play Ghosts of the webway or Reapers wager detachments?

Heya, thanks for choosing this sausage's post in the sausage-fest that is r4r.
I'm posting because I feel like I'm missing something in my life. From the outside looking in it wouldn't seem I'm lonely. I have a lot of online friends, hell, I'm even married. (Although that has it's issues, and I totally expect a lot of judgemental messages regarding this. I'll just say it feels bad not feeling "loved" in your marriage.)
I feel like I'm missing a strong connection in my life. Like a best friend, or even a lover. Someone who I can look at and say "Yeah, that person is special amongst everyone else to me." someone I can rely on, and who can rely on me. Someone who makes me laugh and smile and I can do the same.
I'm not going to do what most people do here, and pretend I'm some super interesting person that plays the piano and reads 8 books a month. I'm a pretty simple person. I'm a nerdy guy (Although I'm pretty tall and strong looking), I always try to make people laugh and I have the hobbies you'd expect a nerdy guy to have. I love videogames (PC gaming), TCG, LEGO, and I'm looking into incorporating even more hobbies too!
I want to do some outdoor activities, but I'm in Florida and it just...sucks. The nature here is basically fake to appease tourists, there's no really lush forests, it's always hot and there's no mountains or anything beautiful to look at. It stinks! I really want to move out of Florida.
My humor is super crass and dumb, penis jokes, edgy humor (as long as I'm with someone I'm familiar with). Things like that. I can be really goofy, but I can also speak to people about deep topics and while sometimes I miss the mark, I'm a pretty emotionally intelligent person. I mean, I'm thinking about studying to become a therapist, so that has to mean something, right?

So are OPEN PARTIES still thing today especially with the Gen Z?
So a little background: When I was a High School in one of them exclusive all boys schools during the late 2000s there were these events called "Open Parties" organized by orgs or group of individuals from whatever exclusive boys/girl schools. So open parties were basically an introduction for teenagers of that time to like clubbing or partying in general. They were mostly held inside clubhouses/events halls of whatever high end exclusive village in Metro Manila and there were an entrance fees for these events (IIRC it was around PHP200) and yes, there was music, drinks and partying as well as also negative things associated to it like underage drinking, smoking, drugs, sex and occasional violence as well. There was even an incident were an Atenean boy was beaten up by a juvenile gang called the "The Good Frat" ("TGF" for short) because the boy allegedly molested the cousin of a guy who was a member of TGF. There were also stories that it was just their M.O to have a female accomplice to call "cry wolf" so they have the "justification" to prey on their victims.
