Okay I may be crazy or it may be only me but I’ve been on slynd for a year now. I swear if I miss slynd by 30 minutes I have breakthrough bleeding? Am I really that sensitive? I had an internal ultrasound last April and I was fine.

Hi, throwaway account
I have 3-4 years of experience as a consultant after my PhD. I am considering making a switch to freelancing. I have an ok network (mostly friends from college and ex-colleagues) but have only seen 2 companies. I have started discussing the matter with my consultancy firm.
I have always been very positive about them, never anything indicating I cannot trust them and honestly never really anything to complain about. I did a good job as a consultant and in return, I got recognition for it and they always helped me develop and determine my best next steps for my career, based on what I wanted.
Now with the freelancing, they told me it's too soon. Firstly, because I don't have enough experience (distinguish myself from the crowd), secondly my limited network, especially in places that matter as freelancer and finally my lack in experience on the business side of freelancing (discussing contracts, dayrates,...). While I acknowledge all these points, my main thinking was, since most companies in my sector require you to work with intermediates anyway why hld off the freelancing if I am almost obligated to work with an intermediary which fixes most of those issues? Worst case, they take some advantage of lack of experience in negotiations (even though I have good views on day rates in several companies for the jobs I'm looking at).
Now I am a bit torn on what to do next. My current employer has proposed to keep my on for a while but involve me in contract and dayrate negotiations, let me do some prospecting etc so I can build on their experience. While I have no reason not to trust their intent (to help me), I am not naive and know their margin is just much larger on an employee than on a consultant, so this might just be a way for them to keep me longer.
I do want to add, in all humility, my performance was always above average, both my clients and company have always (formally) confirmed this. I also don't see any major hurdles for me to start freelancing as right now, I have always landed the jobs I wanted and can't remember ever not being selected after an interview (I turned some opportunities down).
So, long story short: do I make the jump, learn the things I'm lacking along the way in maybe not the most efficient way, or do I take advantage of my employers proposal to learn the ropes under their guidance, delaying my start as freelancer (missing out on maybe some practical experience figuring it out and a more beneficial financial outcome)
There is an in-between option, where I freelance but under them, they just take a (to my opinion) large cut from my dayrate (liekly 20-25% while I know I could get 10-15% somewhere else). Interested to hear your opinions (on my situation and whether I maybe just trying to rush things).

ive had moderate to severe headache without aura on the right side of my head that has been ongoing for 3 days, it lasts around an hour then goes away then comes back some hours later. the pain is sharp and feels like its behind my right eye (the left eye has the strange spot). makes me want to remove my own eye.

2025.01.27 16:51 worthy_usable RTX 4070 Super. Power Consumption question.
Does anyone have an RTX 4070 Super and could give some insight as to the power consumption as opposed to the RTX 3060 Ti? I managed to snag one at a very very good price, and was curious as to if I need to consider my PSU in the equation. I have a 700W Corsair something, and a Ryzen 5 7600X that is woefully underutilized at the moment.
