Roads take up a lot of space.
In order for one to provide roads, they must necessarily take up a significant amount of space from other road providers.
This makes competition, especially in areas where space to build roads is very scarce (such as an inner city), significantly restricted, as one provider can take up all the space available and be the only road provider providing access to some destination.
Consumers would only have one road to choose from to get to their destination.

I never really noticed how relatively few tabletop games use dice anymore.
I came to tabletop from RPG spaces, so I have more of a dice focus than most. I was in a weekly tabletop group for over a decade, and they hated dice-based mechanics, at least anything beyond Catan’s 2d6. I just figured that was a local preference rather than an overall trend.
Well, spending this last weekend at a tabletop convention has convinced me it is indeed a design trend.
Dice just aren’t popular in modern games. Cards are by far the randomization mechanic of choice. If a die is used at all, it’s often relegated to a minor role, like “running away” in Munchkin.
Most of the newer dice games that I saw were variations of worker placement game like Sky Team, or set making/matching like Roll for It. Both of those are fine, but they seem surface-level, somehow, and not deep at all. Like, Sky Team's depth comes from limiting information exchanges between players, rather than from the dice themselves.
Out of the hundreds of games that I played, watched someone else play, or just read the rules without playing, here are my shoutouts from the weekend:
- Tumblin Dice, for pure physicality (this was my personal highlight)
- Adventure Party, for using d20s in a narrative party game
- Dungeons Dice & Danger, for a roguelike experience
- Twenty Strong, for a solo game where you feel like a badass
- Groo: The Game, for comically oversized dice
- Dice Conquest, for using a full polyhedral set in a tabletop game

 | My Drop CTRL was a revelation when I bought it in 2018 with the hot swap board and the Halo True switches but at this point I wanted something thockier and nicer and my research led me to the Neo 80. All in all was a fun process putting it together and I did like messing around with the foams and the mounting methods and settled on no foam except inside my space bar and the brass standoffs. Using a POM plate, Gateron Green Apple tactile switches and KAM superuser key caps (PBT Dye sub) and very happy with the results. I've tried various projects so far in different industries and I failed every time, so let me share my experience
- Websites/apps (virtual product) - I'm developer by trade and I've been doing this for years. I've coded countless websites and apps. The biggest pain I've had is getting users. I realized that without big funding or having media/influencer pushing it, the future doesn't look bright. It was extremely hard to get users.
- Social media - by that I mean YT, TikTok and such. I've had some luck in early TikTok days, I gathered around 10k followers in a few months, but it took me 2-3 hours every day to record, edit and prepare videos. Maybe I gave up too soon, it looked promising since at that time TikTok didn't push you toward your geo position
- Physical product - That was the worst because it took time to produce, sell, ship, create and promote. It didn't pay off at all

Entirely hypothetical situation. A non-UK citizen, not resident in the UK owns property in Scotland. Is convicted of multiple crimes (for the sake of the question, let's say 34 felonies in the USA).
Under Home Office rules, a foreigner convicted of serious criminal acts will not be granted entry to the UK (we'll ignore whether the sentence was actually passed or not).
Are there any rules about what would happen to property they own in Scotland?

Hello, I’m trying to get better at utilizing chances and scoring more goals. I’ve got ample speed to get into the plays and carry the puck but been lacking in being able to get past defenders and mainly feel I can break out using the boards or chipping it past the defenders but when in the zone looking for a pass or being in front of the opposite teams net I’m not able to turn those chances into goals. Any advice on this? I am mainly a forward but have played Defence from time to time.
