Hey everyone! I recently have been getting reimbursed less for the same services I regularly make claims for, and I'm looking for advice / understanding on if I am owed more money.
Background
I go to an out-of-network therapist with a rate of $250 / session. I pay my therapist directly, then submit receipts from her to Aetna to track my spending, and get reimbursed via checks in the mail when applicable. In 2024, I hit my out-of-network deductible and out-of-network out-of-pocket max in the first few months. When submitting claims since I hit those, I usually get a full reimbursement of the $250 / session.
Last week, I submitted a claim for my October 2024 sessions, but this time, I only got a partial reimbursement ($192.53 / session). The EOB wasn't illuminating on exactly why my reimbursement rate changed (it said "You may owe this amount. This provider isn't participating in our network. We considered this claim following our policies for non-physician provider types, such as nurse practitioners, physician assistants, audiologists and therapy assistants. [Z35]"), so I called for details.
When I called about the latest claim reimbursement amount, they said that $250 is above the Allowable Rate for this service ($192.53), so I do not get reimbursed for the difference. It still didn't explain why the reimbursement amounts were different, and my representative did not know if the Allowable Rate for therapy had changed recently.
I didn't push the subject further because now I'm worried that getting the full reimbursements before was an error in my favor, and didn't want to end up with more unexpected bills.
My Questions

Is there a way to check what Aetna's Allowable Rates are for services online in general, so that I don't make this same mistake again? I've tried searching for info on this but no luck so far.
I think maybe they decreased their allowable rate from 2024 to 2025 which may account for the change since I submitted the claim in 2025. Is there some way I can see if the rate changed recently? And if this is the case, since the services were in 2024, do I have a leg to stand on to argue for a full reimbursement at the 2024 allowable rate?

So unless you've been living under a rock, NVIDIA's stock just took a massive hit (-16%) after this Chinese company DeepSeek dropped what might be the biggest AI flex of 2025: They supposedly built a GPT-4 level model for just $6M. Not billion. Million. Using old NVIDIA hardware that China's not even supposed to have anymore.
I've been following the AI space for a while, and this is wild for a few reasons:
First off, this is basically like someone saying they built a Ferrari in their garage for the price of a used Civic. Everyone's freaking out because if these folks really pulled this off with older GPUs (H800s/A100s), what's even the point of dropping $30k+ on new H100s?
The Elon drama isn't helping either - my man's out here claiming DeepSeek's got 50k illegal H100s stashed under some boba shop in Shenzhen 💀
But here's where it gets interesting - there's this old economic concept called Jevons Paradox (bear with me). Basically, when something gets more efficient/cheaper, people end up using MORE of it, not less. Think about when coal got more efficient in the 1800s - instead of using less coal, suddenly everything and their mother was running on steam power.
So here's my spicy take: What if cheaper AI training is actually GOOD for NVIDIA? Follow me here:

If building AI models gets stupid cheap, every CS dropout with a dream is gonna try launching an AI startup
All those AIs need somewhere to actually run (inference)
And guess who makes the best chips for running AI? Our boys in green

I mean, Zuck just committed $65B to AI infrastructure. My man's buying GPUs like they're Taylor Swift tickets lmao
That said, I'm the same idiot who bought AMD at the top, so maybe take this with a grain of salt 🤡

2025.01.27 19:10 why_throwaway2222 I struggle to do basic personal hygiene every day. How do I break out of this ?

I’m a married woman (20s) and have a child. I have struggled with this issue all my life. I wasn’t from a neglectful household, my mom did stress personal hygiene. Maybe too much because I would get punished for not showering/washing up well enough. I just… always fought it and wouldn’t want to do any of it. It was a horrible chore for me.
Now here I am. I have to make myself shower, wash and style hair, shave, to brush teeth, put on deodorant, wash my face… it’s sad I know. I am not depressed, I have plenty of drive to do all sorts of things. I see friends, do home projects, go out, cook. Healthy sex drive. I just forget about cleaning myself. I can put my hair up in a bun and not think about it ever.
Asides from my hygiene I am not a slobby person. My apartment is clean and tidy. I hate clutter and dirt. I do laundry almost daily, change clothes and bed linens often. (TMI incoming, sorry ) . I can’t stand being filthy down there , I change my underwear 3-4x a day , I use bidet religiously. But other parts of me get neglected.
My husband has to constantly remind me to do those other hygiene tasks. I have been doing better recently though. Today I showered for the first time in a few weeks. I have been brushing more consistently too.
Why am I like this? What’s going on? How can I motivate myself to be clean? I feel like I have motivation for everything in my life but this.
