tho(ugh) When though is the last word in the sentence, it is a marker that the speaker has just added and may be adding some new information which qualifies or limits what he said a second ago, so the listener does not get the wrong idea. or when the person is nonbinary and prefers "they". Nonbinary people vary in which pronoun they prefer. Some use he or she, some use e, some use they; there are other possibilities to. Many prefer to use their names whenever possible, and eschew pronouns as much as possible. Generally though, with less important events it is best to use 'Good' ( e.g. Good night ), but for more important events like a holiday or birthday it is best to use happy ( e.g. Happy birthday, happy holidays ). Happy and good are used almost exclusively in greetings, and most people only use merry as a greeting in 'Merry Christmas'. Using "negro" (especially if pronounced NEE-grow or NIG-row) can reasonably suggest that the person using it would like to go back to the status quo that prevailed before Civil Rights Days, when Black people "knew their place", lynching was still a real possibility for any imagined transgression, and, with vanishingly-few exceptions, all the wealth and power of the nation was in White hands. All those in the second list sound good to me and I have used and heard similar usages. In the first list, I have heard and used them all, but I would use "That song sounds familiar as hell" rather than "That song sure as hell sounds familiar" (again, the latter is fine and I have heard the usage plenty of times). Actually, I think you are looking for the difference between people and peoples. People means indeed a group of humans, as in: The people of Germany speak German. It can also be used as a plural of person: Many people like apple pie. The plural of people is peoples and is used when you talk about several groups of humans, usually several ethnic ... For most emails where I add a name to the list of recipients, I let the “CC:” line among the addressees stand for that fact, and don't mention it specially. [1] means people think/believe the plant/company will employ 500 people in the factory. [2] is not natural. On the other hand, if we say [2a] It intends to employ 500 people in the factory. then it means the plant/company plans/hopes/targets to employ 500 people in the factory. Back to your interpretation of [1], is expected is different from ... The third-person (that is, neither the speaker nor the person spoken to, but some “third” person) singular pronoun is, unusually for English, broken up into three forms based on the gender of whatever the pronoun refers to. It is people who cannot understand me! "It" is a dummy pronoun, as "people who can't understand me" (*) would be ungrammatical with the "who". Alternative ways of phrasing this idea are: The/My problem is that other people can't understand me! It's other people's fault that they don't understand me! or just: It's other people who can't ...

2025.01.27 19:25 grifrocks123 Thermaltake Vista

Thermaltake Vista Is this a good deal? And is this company good? I haven't really heard anyone talk about it. Also need an opinion on it being a compact PC. Is that usually not preferred? A little worried about airflow/overheating/high fan noises.. also, I'm wondering if the motherboard being cheaper will have any impact on the performance.

2025.01.27 19:25 Designer_Avocado8963 TSU “In Process”

How long has your “TSU” been “In Process” for? It’s been about 2 weeks for me. I’m prepared for it to take its time though, since I know it’s different for everyone.
I’ve yet to see any new academy dates… most current one I’ve seen is for EOD Feb 12.
Curious if anyone has recently gotten any FJO with an EOD after Feb 12?

2025.01.27 19:25 Longjumping_Sir2656 Staying at The Waldorf. How’s the neighbourhood?

I’m staying at The Waldorf for a couple of nights in March. I am fully aware that it’s not a ‘nice’ hotel. I’m okay with that. What I’m trying to get a handle on is just how bad is the neighbourhood that it’s located in? I visit Vancouver a few times a year and stay on Granville St downtown, so I can deal with a gritty scene. I just don’t want to stay in the middle of the East Hastings reality. Is The Waldorf far enough along that it’s not right in the thick of things???

Hello,
Recently moved into our new house and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to remove this fixture to change the lightbulb. It’s so stuck and pulling it out seems to be ruining the drywall. Any advice is welcomed!
Thanks in advance. ☺️

2025.01.27 19:25 Emotional-Wasabi3333 chickens vs. eggs

tldr : how do I get chickens to stop “eating” eggs? & lay where they’re supposed to?
we recently inherited about 15 new birds. due to their flash bang arrival & a bad spell of weather & general chaos - there are 2 seperate “flocks” that free range together & get shut seperately at night. everyone is laying EVERYWHERE/nowhere.
when i find clutches - some have been eaten. some are old. etc etc etc.
can I combine these two flocks? do I keep them shut together for a while? how much space is needed for 30 ish birds? how do I keep them from egg foraging? am I screwed?
sorry for the crazy post! google isn’t coming through (or maybe im not wording searches quite right).
TIA for any insight!

2025.01.27 19:25 Hungry_Yak633 Maokai, anyone playing?

Really interested to know what you do with the Maokai in terms of items and skill order. Maokai is currently my first pick, to me hes so much better than Leona or even Nautilus as engage/disengage tank. Whats your opinion? Good points for me: ult has a huge area, saplings give visions and poke. has a dash, can use Q to get closer or disengage (his Q is in area so you can disengage more than one enemy). Downsides: not too good against long range and high cc like Xerath, Velkoz, etc.

2025.01.27 19:25 SaltyVeterinarian422 Bridging the gap between fluent speech and mindful reading.

I’ve been striving to master my language skills, not just in parts but as a wholea seamless process where speaking and reading become one. I know the methods; I’ve studied them, practiced them. But now, I want to condense it all into something sharper, more deliberate. Take English, for instance. Living alone, my days are filled with chores, and during those moments, I plug in my earphones and immerse myself in podcasts and audiobooks. Over time, this has familiarized me with the language, especially in American and British accents. I’ve learned to understand it effortlessly, even without subtitles.
But listening alone isn’t enough anymore. I want to speak with the fluency of a writer, with precision and flow. That’s where the challenge begins. I read novels occasionally, but time is not always on my side. To bridge the gap, I thought I’d start reading aloud, bringing the words to life through enunciation. Yet, as I go on, I catch myself merely going through the motions, realizing I’ve lost focus and can’t recall the last few lines. Strangely, when I read silently, comprehension comes naturally.
And so, I’m at a crossroads. Is there a way to bring it all together—a practice that hones my fluency while letting me absorb the depth of the text I’m reading? Should I continue with the read-aloud method, training both speech and focus, or is there a more effective path I haven’t yet considered?
