Do ya’ll have trouble maintaining respect for the people in your life who “know better” but maintain their Prime accounts and shop fast fashion?
I try to separate my general anticonsumerism beliefs from my everyday social interactions because I don’t want to be isolated and believe it can be helpful when people like us “appear normal” 😅
I’ve been vegan for well over a decade (for the animals, environment, and poor labor practices around animal ag) and have always tried to be very chill about it around omnivores because of the stigma that vegans are “insufferable.” I always felt like the “chill vegan” thing really helped a lot of people’s perceptions about it, but watching the world burn up (literally for those of us in SoCal) and watching people go about their consumeristic ways is starting to wear on me.
I want to show people you can live a full, balanced life while turning away from the capitalism treadmill, but, idk, I’m just feeling worn out and a bit despondent.
Not looking for advice or anything, just don’t know where else to shout into the void.

I (f) have been seeing a boy for just over a month and for the first 2/3 weeks everything seemed perfect, both equally into eachother and had so much in common. There was a lot of flirty chat and we promised to both be open and honest with each other. We met quite quickly and saw eachother fairly often. Nothing really happened when we have met other than long talks and just generally getting to know each other and the odd kiss. It all of a sudden seems like he has completely lost interest and when I have asked if he would like to stop talking and seeing each other he has apologised for the lack of communication and said no. But communication has completely dropped and there is no more flirty conversation it’s gone from flowing and natural to feeling slightly false. I don’t want to keep asking him the same questions and coming across as crazy. I have tried playing it cool and backing off and that still doesn’t seem to work… Am I wasting my time or do I persevere for a short while more and see what happens? Or do I just cut ties and accept it was not as going as well as I thought it was?

This one annoyed me until I figured it out. It happens primarily on Stage 4, but if you die when using your jetpack in Power Armor, the game thinks you are still alive (via spectating) and will continue to deplete your fusion cores.
Replicated this numerous times - so be careful, lest you see all your fusion cores drained.

Decided to add the leather strop but it looks like this afternoon sharpening maybe 7 knives. Is this normal? All the green compound is gone from the middle and it's much rougher than when new. I’ve never read any of the works by Jin Yong or Gu along (my Chinese reading/writing is atrocious) but I’ve watched a bunch of the live action adaptions of the Condor trilogy, Xiao Ao Jiang Hu and Tian Long Ba Bu. One thing I never quite wrapped my head around though is how the ‘orthodox’ sects actually make any money to provide funding for themselves; they’re always either studying or practicing martial arts/sword skills. Where do they get money for food, clothes or any other basic necessities?

2025.01.27 19:36 akiyamnya how to keep bread or baked goods from drying out?
specifically in regards to stocking them in a cafe, or let's say for a bake sale. will dough conditioner / bread enhancer prolong it's shelf life by a noticeable margin? how to prevent it from going stale and keep it soft for a maximum amount of time?
btw i am aware of the tangzhong method but don't seem to have much success with it the last time i tried 🥲 i only have access to mediocre all purpose flour and with the tangzhong method, my cinnamon rolls turned out weird (i've made them before differently with good results)
(and when i talk about breads, i mean buns, donuts, cinnamon rolls, loaves, etc)
