Hi everyone,
I’m an Ivy League student-athlete, and I feel very fortunate to be in this position. However, I’ve been struggling lately with figuring out what I truly want to do. I’m currently a junior applying for finance roles and have had some promising leads, but for a long time, I envisioned myself pursuing a career in law. I was a history major initially but switched to economics, hoping it would better position me for opportunities in finance.
That said, I’ve faced quite a bit of rejection in the finance space, and to be honest, I’m not sure I love the idea of forgoing a more structured and rigorous education, like what law school provides. On the other hand, law school comes with significant debt, and it seems like success often depends on being in the top tier of your class at a top-tier school. And with this I honestly am a much better reader and writer but I enjoy many of the parts of finance as well.
For those with experience in finance or law, do you have any advice on how I might navigate this decision? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I wanted to share my wild post-op experience in case anyone else has gone through something similar. So, 6 days after my surgery (which went super smoothly, by the way), I decided to treat myself to some Raising Cane’s (fried chicken, bad idea). I ate around 10 AM, took a nap in the afternoon, and woke up with a gnawing pain—the kind I used to get before a gallbladder attack. Over the next hour, the pain escalated until it felt like a full-blown GB attack… except I no longer have a gallbladder.
My husband was at work, and my mom lives 5 minutes away, so I drove to her house in agony. By the time I got there, all I could do was scream. She rushed me to a nearby free-standing ER, where they did blood work (came back normal) and gave me morphine. The doctor chalked it up to my body “freaking out” from eating high-fat food. But deep down, I knew this pain wasn’t just that—it felt exactly like a GB attack.
I went home, but by 9–10 PM, the morphine wore off, and the pain came back with a vengeance. I suffered for hours, thinking it was just something I ate, until my husband insisted we go back to the ER. By the time we arrived (a 10-minute drive), I puked all over the parking lot. This time, the same ER doctor was much more concerned. Bloodwork showed a dramatic spike in my liver enzymes and bilirubin compared to earlier that day. They did a CT with contrast and an ultrasound, which revealed fluid buildup where my gallbladder had been. They immediately called my surgeon, and I was transferred to the hospital where they work.
At first, they suspected bile leakage, but a HIDA scan ruled that out. Then they thought it might be a leftover stone, so I had an MRI with contrast, which didn’t find anything either. By this point, I’d been in the hospital for two days without eating because I was on standby for an ERCP surgery (to remove any potential stones). Finally, the doctors concluded that I probably passed a stone that caused all the chaos but didn’t show up on imaging.
They kept me for another day to monitor my liver enzymes, which eventually returned to normal, and scheduled a follow-up.
TL;DR: 6 days post-op, I ate fried chicken, ended up with severe “phantom GB attack” pain, and spent 3 days in the hospital. Turns out I likely passed a leftover stone. Just wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is dealing with similar symptoms—trust your gut (literally)!

Hello! And welcome to my ted talk of ideas I would like to propose to Blizzard. Like many of you fellow players out there nervously awaiting things like player housing and the upcoming expansions. I had more than a few thoughts I wanted to put out there to emphasize them and see if maybe Blizzard bites at them.
One of the things I'm hearing alot in passing is how players housing is a mixed bag of most mythic+ players not really caring about it, and the RPers/casuals/ middle players getting interested but worried about execution. With a recent apartment that has now popped up on the ptr some people have gotten excited about the prospects, but in watching what they were I found them.. less than awe inspiring..which if done correctly player housing could be amazing! … or not if done poorly.
Things to keep in mind while figuring out the way that our housing will fit into the lore of the game. Previously the Garrisons were a phased realm of its own that you had to party with other people to see.
One of the biggest motivations for players is being able to show off your stuff! Much like the reasons people covet mounts and pets and tmogs, we see them on other people or in the collections and then go get them ourselves. To the arguments end point. I feel players housing should be visible for others to readily see. Either accessible in a similar fashion to FFs server based housing where a neighborhood is all together, or that players should build housing based on a guild hall system. This would mean guild neighborhoods where attached to a main guild hall, you're granted access to an area Where your housing would add to the neighborhood.
Fun features could even be added where when a player is offline you can find still find their toons sleeping in their house or doing chores like mowing their yard in a comical way.
In this idea guild halls would also get to decorate based on their achievements with the idea being that plaquards of previous bosses could hang on the wall. There could be a guild treasure room where players pull items out of the guild banks And deposit them with their own guild NPCs. A special instanced Officer room for role playing sensitive battle plans! So many possibilities! The more a guild does, the more they can upgrade their Guild hall to fill it with accomplishments… or!! Even allowing the guild to upload screenshot For epic moments into a frame on the wall! Memorialize your guildmates so past members can see those memories by traversing the stoic pathways. A portal room? Ahh soo exciting.
But also, if you leave a guild your home lot goes with you. Or! You can sell your house as is and start over!. Hehe.. I think we would see the start of wow real-estate agents.
Imagine looking through all the different Guild halls when it comes to recruiting. The pride the people feel when they can be posted on their hall for achievements. The guild neighborhoods to see what all your friends have built! ah Now this feels fun.
But let me know what your thoughts are? I would love if this got their attention.

It has been nearly 80 years since the arrival of the Neumen from beyond Kanthsis and with them brought new innovations, mainly the modern innovation of aircraft. The cultures upon Kanthsis became intertwine with aircraft as the Neumen spread far and wide, settling down, setting up factories. However, as sudden as they appear, they disappeared mysteriously, only leaving behind relics and the blueprints from their homeland. Various theories ranged from some disease that targeted Neumen specifically or a war that tore various units of Neumen apart and having them be scattered to the wind. No one fully knows the cause and anyone that does are likely dead.
Yet, for the people of Kanthsis, life continues on. People grew, towns were formed, life prosper. That is, if you are from the large city-states or large political unions that came about afterwards. For frontier towns, life was hard. It was rough. Not only would they have to deal if a city state came encroaching on their territory to try and make them submit, but also the drainage of natural resources that their towns were founded upon. When the towns dried up, the people scattered. In order to survive, the Neumen did leave behind various aircraft in their factories or they were bought on the black market. Perhaps it is no surprise that many became sky pirates in order to survive.
Of course, not everyone became a simple pirate. Various others became more akin to mercenaries than anything else. Yet, did a simple label really mattered in the end when everyone is trying to survive? And so that is how it's been for the next 70 years of Kanthsis with conflicts raging across the planet. Always a grander design than simply surviving. However, for a new mercenary pilot at one of these frontier towns, something would change around sooner or later.

Salutations readers. I hope you are having a good day/night. This prompt has been in the back of my mind for a while now so I thought I would go ahead and write it up here! So, for those curious, this is inspired by several different fandoms stitched together with the simple concept revolving together - aircraft. From monoplanes to bombers to zeppelins, I want this roleplay to take a direct link when it comes to military aircraft. Yes, this will be a bit of a technical roleplay and I do expect you to know your things but I do like to add some details right now. Firstly, in terms of what aircraft, I am envisioning using prop planes from WW2 / Early Cold War. From the most produced aircrafts of the war to the one-off prototypes. Not to say that we can't add in some jet age aircraft, but I like for that to come later in the actual story. If that's not up to your taste, we can certainly work with more original aircraft like from Sky Crawlers, the same rules still apply.
Now, onto the characters. For this, I envision our characters would be part of a mercenary unit of sorts. Following for whatever sort of reason that there would be, only that they are good pilots. If that's not up to your stuff, we can perhaps play as rivals of sorts. Or perhaps a sort of mechanic/pilot sort of relationship. This section is, by design, vague as we can certainly work in how our characters be. Of course, I think, for simplicity's sake, we both would be playing as GMs to each other while controlling our two main characters.
Lastly, some extra details I like to put out and expect from you. I do expect you to be literate and be able to write multiple paragraphs. I am not asking for you to write a novella with every message, but I do expect you to know what you want to play out and how to write it. During "downtime", we can write multiple paragraphs but when it comes to combat scenes, it can be shorter if that makes sense.

Doing DJ and I’ve lost four pounds in four weeks, not even trying. Check my post history, I’ve snacked on a lot of sweets to get through this. I can only imagine where I’d be if I had worked out and dieted on top of that. The last time I lost four pounds, it took about two months. I was actively calorie counting and running, but binge drinking on the weekends.
It isn’t just weight loss or physical health, it’s mental health too. I had a family medical event happen this past weekend, and all I could think was “thank fuck I’m not hungover right now. This would all be 10x worse if I was drinking.”
My goal this year is to lose 30 pounds and I feel mentally ready to eliminate booze to have that happen. I want to be “into” taking care of myself as a hobby, not drinking (because trust me, I’ve put in the hours). I’m going to take it day by day after January, but I’m in no rush to have that first drink. The desire is just gone right now.
