I graduated from my LLM last summer (2024), and I’ve been hopeless at finding a permanent job. I’ve managed to find full time work via an agency, but the pay is truly dreadful and I’m not a fan of the work at all. I find the job soul destroying, but I just can’t seem to find a position elsewhere…
Since graduating last summer, I’ve probably done 10 job interviews. In my defence, a few were truly dreadful and I knew from the first question that it was not the job for me, but a good few of them were ‘dream jobs’. I went to an interview coach, who gave me the same basic advice (prepare, read the job description, research the company etc), but I’ve yet to have any success. I feel as though I was sold a lie- get a degree, and you’ll get a good job. Then I was told- get 6 months of full time work under your belt, and anyone will hire you. I’m so heartbroken that it hasn’t worked out like this, and I’m so exhausted of applying for jobs and being constantly disappointed.
Does anyone have any tips of how to get out of this rut? I decided not to do the legal diploma, because I didn’t want to commit to another year of studying, and then a poorly paid traineeship. However, I think I would’ve been in a better position career wise if I just went down another route…..

Hi, I’m an immigrant living in Calgary, and I’m about to buy my first car. The problem is that I lost my driver’s license from my home country, and I’m currently waiting for it to be reissued—it should arrive next month in February. Until then, I don’t have a valid license.
I’ve found a great car deal right now, and I really want to buy it. But since I don’t have my license yet, I’m unsure if it’s even possible to go ahead with the purchase. Ideally, I’d like to buy the car and park it somewhere for a month until my license is ready.
I’m feeling a bit lost about what to do. Is there any way to make this work?

Hello! My laptop is a MacBook Pro from 2019. Often just having Chrome open, or charging while using Chrome will cause my laptop to sound like a jet engine. I'm not sure if this is due to having too many downloads or excess dust accumulation. Just now, for instance, after using my laptop for about an hour or two it started overheating for five minutes, with the fan being super loud. It has cooled down a bit and the fan has turned off (or quieted), but I'm worried about how often this happens. Occasionally if I forget to shut down Chrome and just close my laptop for a bit, it will shut off or die even if the battery is fully charged.
Is this something I can try and fix at home? Or should I go to an Apple Store?
