Hello lovely people!
I'm making a mage and I want to guarantee that he uses a specific spell at least once every few seconds in the fight with the player.
To this avail, I made a Package using the Use Magic template, selected the spell and target. I made a GlobalVariable, let's call it "CanCast" and set it to 1, later adding it as a condition for the package to be able to be run. Then I added a script on the On End section of the package making the condition 0 and after 5 seconds bumping it to 1 again. Lastly, on a script on the mage's alias, I added LW.EvaluatePackage() on both an OnHit and an OnPackageEnd event to make sure he wouldn't get stuck at any point.
So what happens now is that the fight starts, he casts his spell, then goes into normal combat mode but at one point he just stops and looks at me menancingly. It seems like the package only runs once and then it can't happen again. What am I doing wrong?

Iām trying to understand - Christianity says we have free will to make our own decisions. But the same priests and pastors tell us we have original sin that we are automatically guilty for. Doesnāt seem fair to me? Didnāt Jesus die for our sins; which should eliminate original sin since this was after Adam and Eve? If we still have original sin despite Jesus dying for our sins why do we say this was the reason he died?
Additionally the stories throughout the Bible from Onan to Noah, God killed humans for not listening to him or in the case of Noah, to start over with 2 of every animal? Maybe Iām missing something but how can we have free will and still be killed by god for making our own choice? Seems hypocritical in my opinion.
Finally, Iām told temptation and sinful actions can be influenced by the devil. So it really isnāt our choice or our free will if the devil is forcing us to commit sins? Please correct me if any of this is inaccurate but between god making the rules of life to end up in heaven and the devil trying to push us away from being moral and not committing sins so we end up in hell, shouldnāt god punish the devil and not the humans who are far more weak compared to the ruler of heaven and hell?
Personally I believe free will can only exist if no knowledge of god or the devil are known, as you wouldnāt be influenced by outside factors such as knowing some choices will send you to hell and others send you to heaven as we all know choices are diminished when constraints or incentives/penalties are known.

2025.01.27 19:45 Nearby_History_9222 AITA for not reconnecting with my toxic estranged family, for the sake of getting a marriage proposal? My boyfriend insists on meeting my parents, but Iām estranged from my entire family.
I originally posted this in a different subreddit, but it was removed and I was advised to repost it here.
We've been together for almost 3 years, and we've been living together for half a year. For the past....maybe 1.5 years, whenever the topic of marriage comes up, my boyfriend mentions how he would want to meet my parents and let them know his plans to marry me, before he proposes.
The problem is, I'm 100% estranged from my family. And he knows this. So I can't really be like "hey family who I don't talk to at all, here's my boyfriend. We're here to get your blessing!" It wouldn't even mean anything to me anyway. I don't talk to them, they're not an active part of my life, and haven't been for several years. So why should their opinions matter to him? He may as well ask the next door neighbors for my hand in marriage. I've seen/talked to them more than my own family over the past several years.
I'm beginning to feel resentful towards my boyfriend. Because at this point, I don't know if he's just using meeting my family as an excuse to drag out proposing. He already knows that I have zero contact with my family, so it seems unfair to put that kind of condition on proposing. Also, the idea of opening my life back up to all the chaos and drama and stress that came from my family, gives me more than a little anxiety, and I've explained this to him as well. My mental health skyrocketed once I took a step back from them. I hate saying that, but it's the truth.
I feel that it should be MY choice if and when I want to reconnect with my family. And not something I'm doing just because I feel like it's a hoop I have to jump through to get a proposal. He hasn't flat out said that this is the reason he hasn't proposed. But as I said, the topic has come up casually in prior conversations. And we've discussed a general timeline of when we would be engaged by, and that timeline has come and gone. And I can't think of/haven't been given any other reasons why he hasn't proposed. To me, he shouldn't be allowing people he's never met, and that I have no contact/relationship with, to dictate when/if he's going to propose to ME.
As the 3 year mark gets closer, I'm realizing more and more that I'm not willing to stay in this relationship for another year (or even 6 months) if he still hasn't proposed. But I also can't guarantee that I'm going to magically reconcile with my family, just so he can meet them and check it off his list. It wouldn't be fair of me to just reconnect with my family to introduce my boyfriend, so he can get what he wants. And then I ultimately go back to not talking to my family again, to protect my peace. Why reopen the wound for everyone?
So where does that leave us? He's extremely close with his family, so I feel like he has a hard time understanding what it's like to NOT be close to your family, no matter how many times/ways I've explained it.
