It's wholesome how much you all love your Foresters and I like seeing all the pics from all you happy folks. You all see generally kind to each other. I'm coming from a modded hot hatch and the modded car subs are...different. lol I noticed a lot of ppl posting up pics here and wanted to share a tip I learned. If you're taking pic with your phone, try this:
Here are some examples using my new-to-me Fozzy that is never clean b/c this is my first time owning a black paint vehicle. Standard 1.0 zoom on old-ass iphone 2.0 zoom standing back a bit 1.0 zoom on quarter 2.0 zoom on quarter By zooming in rather than standing too close, you’ll get less bubble distortion and more representative lines from your Forester. bonus nerd stuff - why does zooming to 2.0x help this? Zooming into 1.8x - 2.0x is a close equivalent of a focal length of 50mm. AKA the Nifty Fifty Lens. This 50mm is important b/c it closely mimics the field of view similar to the human eye - rather than a fish eye - which results in less optical distortion. There are professional photographers who work exclusively with a dedicated 50mm lens b/c of this Nifty Fifty phenomenon. This 2.0x zoom trick and be used for any and all photos...just be aware of how far you are stepping back and what is behind you b/c this will feel new to you at first lol Thank you for reading! Sorry for a question that’s probably been asked a million times. I haven’t played gta in months and a friend asked me to play. He has the ps5 version but I never migrated. I’ve been trying to for a few days ive gotten myself to less then 7.5 billion which I’ve seen a few people saying you have to have less than that. I still have around 7 billion. I’m getting the message saying not eligible for migration and sometimes it says I’m signed in on a previous generation console but then goes back to saying not eligible for migration. I’m not to fused if I can’t do it but if there’s a way anyone knows I’d be grateful. Thanks.

Nebraska men's basketball has not won a conference game on the road in 341 days. Since the 2022-23 season, Nebraska has won five (5) total Big Ten road games. They are 5-20 (.200) in that span...
It's become clear that Fred Hoiberg and his coaching staff are having a difficult time preparing these players for road games. And with the western expansion of the Big Ten, figuring out that rhythm is more crucial than ever.
(Not so exciting side note: Nebraska has still never played a Big Ten road game west of Lincoln. They will get their first taste this Sunday against fellow Nebraskan Dana Altman's Ducks)
I know much has been made about Nebraska's road struggles, but seeing those numbers is staggering and concerning. It's a problem that spans multiple groups of players, and thus, very obviously a coaching issue.
If Nebraska basketball wants to get to the next level as a program, this is the key issue they have to figure out, and quickly.

My understanding of divine violence is that it is a violence where no blood is spilt. An example would be the holocaust where people didn’t bleed, they were horrifically liquidated. This requires a willing subordination to maintain the oppressive state apparatus, much like Gods annihilative ability is derived from the submission to total rule, here ‘gods will’.
where I am getting confused is Benjamin says divine violence may as much be called sovereign violence, which he set the stage with the strike. Would you be able to help me a bit more understanding that concept? I think I am following that (very simply) things like movies or news will normalize certain values in a culture. America terrorized Afghanistan for 20 years but what would we do without Saving Private Ryan, or Black Hawk Down, or American Sniper, or Lone Survivor? German Nazi campaigns did not begin with gas chambers, but the normalization of subordination and antisemitism through popular and political culture. this process generates willing subordination to an oppressive state apparatus. when they (the state) attempt to enact divine violence, only pure divine violence or a unified people can resist? Then, is only pure divine violence sovereign violence?

2025.01.27 19:42 tanj_redshirt Thoughts on dice, from a tabletop convention
I never really noticed how relatively few tabletop games use dice anymore.
I came to tabletop from RPG spaces, so I have more of a dice focus than most. I was in a weekly tabletop group for over a decade, and they hated dice-based mechanics, at least anything beyond Catan’s 2d6. I just figured that was a local preference rather than an overall trend.
Well, spending this last weekend at a tabletop convention has convinced me it is indeed a design trend.
Dice just aren’t popular in modern games. Cards are by far the randomization mechanic of choice. If a die is used at all, it’s often relegated to a minor role, like “running away” in Munchkin.
Most of the newer dice games that I saw were variations of worker placement game like Sky Team, or set making/matching like Roll for It. Both of those are fine, but they seem surface-level, somehow, and not deep at all. Like, Sky Team's depth comes from limiting information exchanges between players, rather than from the dice themselves.
Out of the hundreds of games that I played, watched someone else play, or just read the rules without playing, here are my shoutouts from the weekend:
- Tumblin Dice, for pure physicality (this was my personal highlight)
- Adventure Party, for using d20s in a narrative party game
- Dungeons Dice & Danger, for a roguelike experience
- Twenty Strong, for a solo game where you feel like a badass
- Groo: The Game, for comically oversized dice
- Dice Conquest, for using a full polyhedral set in a tabletop game
