I've been wanting to write this type of post for a long time, and it appears that I've finally mustered the courage. I've been considering how to approach this. It's always awkward to start a new friendship, isn't it? So I'll address you directly. I know you're out there, among the bots, the inconsiderate, the one-liners, you know who I'm talking about.
So, hi!? I am so glad you scrolled just long enough to stumble across my post! Please bear with me as I clumsily try to reveal a thing or two about myself. By the way, when you get to know me, you'll realize that this description doesn't fit me that well, but hey, this is all I know about myself.
Personality-wise, I've been told numerous times by people that I'm a shy and reserved person who is really agreeable. I consider myself a hopeless romantic. The only way to combat reality for me is escapism, which I find in good art. You name it: books, movies, music. I am quite an emotional being. I have very little social skills. I am a good listener. I love old movies, new-age music, and poetry.
I am looking for a platonic friendship, a friend with whom I would feel comfortable talking about deep and intimate things. Honestly, I am tired of the banality of everyday life, and I am tired of repeating that same reassuring story that I am okay. There's a lot more to talk about and reveal, I just have no one. Please answer my post if you would confide in me your world, dreams, and fears, freely and wholeheartedly, and would listen to mine with the same passion and interest.
I live in the south of Europe, GMT+1, so I would like to meet people near me, time-wise, and 23+ years of age.

My favorite thing about living in Colorado definitely has to be going the flow of traffic (predicting and anticipating the choke points and slow points as we flow down the mountain) while Audi SUV and other rich transplant douchebags fly up behind you at +30mph of the flow to slam on their brakes, to then weave right lane to left lane literally getting nowhere faster than the backup. Do they really have to poop? Are they just way more important than the 5000 other peasants sharing the highway with them? Maybe they don't understand the concept of engine breaking? Just plain ol’ blissfully ignorant entitled pricks?

Das ekelhafte Framing von Migranten macht es unmöglich wichtige politische Themen anzusprechen. Selbst bei dem Versuch gleiten Diskussionen schnell in dIE mIgrAnTen!!! ab. Die gesellschaftliche Atmosphäre ist durch die ständige Hetze der afd so dermaßen vergiftet, dass sie konstruktiven Diskussionen keinen Raum mehr lässt, wodurch die sozialen Missstände zunehmen, was wiederum der afd mehr Wählerstimmen bringt.
In vier Jahren wird es noch weniger bezahlbaren Wohnraum gegen. Die Schere zwischen Arm und Reich wird noch weiter auseinander klaffen. Das Gesundheitssystem wird sich weiter verschlechtern. Die Arbeitsbedingen werden sich weiter verschlechtern. Die Behörden werden noch schlechter arbeiten. Die Infrastruktur wird noch schlechter sein usw. Trotzdem wird Wahlkampfthema Nr. 1 wieder der Phantomschmerz des hässlichen Deutschen sein: dIE mIgrAnTen!!!
Hass ist ein Lebenselexier aus Deutschland. Der hässliche Deutsche hasst alle anderen und sich selbst. Der hässliche Deutsche gehört wieder an den Pranger gestellt, bis er seine Hassklappe hält. Wir sind aber längst in einem Deutschland angekommen, in dem Unsägliches wieder salonfähig ist und sogar von Politikern und Medien aufgegriffen/weiterverbreitet wird. Es braucht jetzt möglichst viele Menschen, die sich querstellen, die diesem Land den Spiegel vorhalten, die laut und deutlich auf die sofortige Einleitung des Parteiverbotsverfahrens gegen die afd bestehen.
Dafür braucht es maximalen Druck auf die Politik. Das Thema gehört sofort ins Zentrum des Wahlkampfs gerückt. Es sollte Thema jeder Demonstration gegen Rechts sein. Stellt diese Forderung an alle demokratischen PolitikeParteien, indem ihr sie anschreibt und sämtliche Kommentarspalten mit der Forderung flutet. Macht ihnen klar, dass sie eure Stimme verlieren, sollte ihre Partei sich nicht jetzt sofort für die Einleitung des Parteiverbotsverfahrens stark machen oder es gar ablehnen. Denn, bis zur Wahl gibt es nur noch drei Bundestagssitzungen und danach sind die Chancen schlecht.
Leitet das Parteiverbotsverfahren ein - schaltet die AfD aus!

 | I'm 43 years old and these are my bloods from the docs 18 months ago. I have been placed on TRT but only with testogel and one action daily. So. 20.25 mg a day. The most recent was November last year with what appears to be an ok increase. I think. All the other results are a little lost on me. Prolactin seems high but I'm unable to fully Interpret the results. I started working out few years ago and it's been hard work in terms energy, motivation. etc. Diet is 95% on task. Lost weight etc but gaining muscle as one can imagine is difficult. I train 4-5 times a week before work. So in the gym at 0545 ish. Some advice on what I could do going forward would be beneficial.  | Ich habe mir den Vemond Honig (flüssige Form) gekauft und wollte mal was austesten. Hab früher immer gerne gebacknen Feta gegessen und wollte das mal wieder so halbwegs haben. Hab dafür Tofu genommen, halbiert und Rote Zwiebeln dazu gegeben. Hab das ganze dann mit Öl, Honig (circa zwei Teelöffel) und Gewürzen (salz/pfeffeKnoblauch) gemixt und bei 180° gebacken. Ich denke man könnte das auch mit Veganem Feta der fest bleibt machen oder den Tofu in Würfel schneiden. Dann gibts mehr Knusprige Oberfläche:D Der Honig schmeckt wirklich so gut! Also man hat da wirklich nichts vermisst! Hatte mir dazu noch Nudeln gemacht und ich denke man hätte auch noch mehr Zwiebel, eine kleinere Form und etwas mehr Öl und Honig nehmen können XD es war tatsächlich ein schönes Experiment, dass ich mit euch teilen wollte :)) submitted by Yggdrafenrir20 to VeganDE [link] [comments] |

I’ve been a fan of the original movie since it came out. I recently rewatched it, so I decided to read the book for the first time. I’m halfway through it, and so far I don’t find anything scary about it. The wasps, the animal hedges, the woman in the tub…nothing is making me feel creeped out. Is it because perhaps subconsciously I’m comparing it to the movie, or is the book just not very scary?

Political discussions can be incredibly frustrating. People are much too rigid in their beliefs and often refuse to even attempt to understand why others believe the things they do. Anyone who has observed or partaken in a political debate knows what I am talking about. I think these problems ultimately boil down to most people having bad epistemology.
Epistemology refers to the means through which a person acquires and maintains belief. Good epistemology draws your beliefs closer to the truth while bad epistemology keeps them further away from it. Thus, anything that has the effect of standing in the way of updating your beliefs in the direction of truth is a cause of bad epistemology. A cursory look into how people acquire and maintain their political beliefs can reveal a couple of these truth-obstructing processes at play:
- The first of these is the practice of adopting beliefs for reasons other than a genuine conviction in their truths. One of these alternative reasons is signaling and it is one that you see quite often in politics. Certain beliefs can become fashionable within a political community and that might compel members of the community to adopt those beliefs simply to fit in. Other such reasons include usefulness, interestingness, and emotional attachment. The problem with letting any factor other than a conviction in truth guide you towards adopting a belief is that it may cause you to stray away from the truth whenever there is a conflict.
- The second of these is rationalizing. Rationalizing is the process of interpreting evidence in a way that aligns with one's preexisting beliefs. The problem with this is that there is an arbitrary number of ways evidence can be interpreted so being able to interpret evidence in a way that aligns with any particular belief should not give you confidence in the truth of that belief. In politics, people holding contradictory beliefs can look at the same evidence and think to themselves that it checks out. Of course, both of them can not be right since their beliefs are contradictory.
- One of the absent signals is intellectual humility. Intellectual humility is basically just acknowledging that you can be wrong and staying open to changing your mind. Many people hold onto their political beliefs too rigidly to be considered intellectually humble about them. This is why logical reasoning and empirical evidence often do not suffice to change minds.
- Another absent signal is evidence anticipation. Evidence anticipation is one of the best ways to avoid rationalizing. It refers to the process of conceiving in advance observations that might serve to verify or falsify a theory. Verifying observations are those that are more likely under the theory than independently. Falsifying observations are those that are less likely under the theory than independently. Theories can then be given more or less credence as these observations come up. Importantly, the anticipated observations should not already be implied by the existing evidence or by any other anticipated observation, lest you double count evidence. This is how the scientific method works, the tool that gave us the highly accurate scientific theories we have today. Unfortunately, most people do not make use of this process for their political beliefs.
- The final absent signal I want to mention is the use of Occam's razor. Some anticipated observations might be impractical or in rare cases, impossible, to verify, so there needs to be some means of choosing between alternative explanations that cannot be verified. In cases like this, you should choose the simplest of the explanations as simpler explanations are more likely to be correct because they contain fewer moving parts and therefore fewer interfaces for error. The best way to determine which explanation is the simplest is to use a formalization of Occam's razor called Solomonoff induction, which concerns the length of the algorithm encapsulated by differing explanations for observed evidence. The shortest algorithm is the one that is preferred.
