I’ve been striving to master my language skills, not just in parts but as a wholea seamless process where speaking and reading become one. I know the methods; I’ve studied them, practiced them. But now, I want to condense it all into something sharper, more deliberate. Take English, for instance. Living alone, my days are filled with chores, and during those moments, I plug in my earphones and immerse myself in podcasts and audiobooks. Over time, this has familiarized me with the language, especially in American and British accents. I’ve learned to understand it effortlessly, even without subtitles.
But listening alone isn’t enough anymore. I want to speak with the fluency of a writer, with precision and flow. That’s where the challenge begins. I read novels occasionally, but time is not always on my side. To bridge the gap, I thought I’d start reading aloud, bringing the words to life through enunciation. Yet, as I go on, I catch myself merely going through the motions, realizing I’ve lost focus and can’t recall the last few lines. Strangely, when I read silently, comprehension comes naturally.
And so, I’m at a crossroads. Is there a way to bring it all together—a practice that hones my fluency while letting me absorb the depth of the text I’m reading? Should I continue with the read-aloud method, training both speech and focus, or is there a more effective path I haven’t yet considered?

Hey all. I’ve played metal guitar for close to 20 years, not really branching out, but always loving how blues guitar sounded. I have an orange Rockerverb and using the clean channel, but I want to get a good blues tone. Something to the tone I’d like is that of a band called brother hawk, for reference. I am slightly lost on where to start with pedals, or even how to set a tube screamer for this type of tone. Anybody got any advice on a good blues tone?

Context, I’m living paycheck to paycheck.
My last overdraft was over Thanksgiving holiday weekend where payroll took leave but the stupid overdraft bot didn’t and I was charged before I got paid the following day. They gave me back my money. What ever.
My account was flagged for fraud and they took 500. During the investigation an automated charge came in and they charged me an overdraft fee when they said I wouldn’t. They kept my account negative 500 for one 7 days. I didn’t have the means to cancel it out and they insisted it be fine.
I called and they sorry no money back. And they threatened to cancel the call when I was reasonably upset and “unprofessional” like fuck you!
I’m not payed a livable wage to be “nice” to you random cunt.
For anyone who sees this plea, I’m not finically stabled and I’m currently fighting that my S.Assaulter gets convicted. I’m getting paid 13/h. My SS card is stolen and I can’t apply for more work without letting any employers take a photo copy of the thing before some gimp tells me to get a “better paying job”

I know this is a bit of an off topic and very specific, so I'll sex it up with an open discussion of everyone's tabletop decor, but in season 3, episode 3, Yolanda has some lovely plates that have a wide grey rim that is a little textural, and I can't find out what it is. It was so nice for deserts because it showed off the food in the white center while giving it this beautiful frame. Rewatching the episode, I was so sad for the loss of that house. It was so beautiful and warm at the same time.

Im a 19m and have been an agnostic for over a year now. At 18 I stopped believing in Christianity and have always been open to the idea of it being true however, I can't find a piece of evidence that points to any being any more true than any other religion.
Let me explain a little further. From the way I see it, slavery, Calvinism, omniscience and free will, God sending people to hell, evolution, contradictions (ie Jesus being crucified before and after Passover, john says after while the Synoptics say before) and the old earth all could possibly be reconciled if Christianity was true (although a pretty radical view but a Christian one nonetheless). My problem is that I can't find a reason for Christianity to be more true than any other religion.
My question is, what do y'all think is a defining piece of evidence that Christianity is true and separates it with other religions?

So last week I went to see my new doctor for the first time (I had moved and needed to change) and told her I was taking compounded semaglutide. I felt weird telling her so I wasn’t going to until she asked about taking meds for weight loss.
She seems fine with it since my ins won’t cover the actual med.
She didn’t offer to write the prescription for me, but I have a follow up with her and figured I’d ask then.
These might be stupid questions but how does it work if your dr will write a prescription instead of going through the telehealth companies? Does it end up being cheaper? And do I have to have it filled at specific pharmacies?
