So I recently purchased the Spearhead (Vanguard) box as well as the Praetorian Spearhead battle force because a few of my friends convinced me to join their AoS games. Two of them have already played quite a few 2000 pts games but the rest of us has only played a few rounds of Spearhead up to now.
One of the experienced players suggested as a next step to try Path to Glory and start with a 1000 pts list which can then grow into 2000 pts over time.
So with that in mind my question would be how would you build with the pieces available to me for the 1000 pts and how would you upgrade your army later on?
I don't know the full extend of the Path to Glory rules, but I know that the General needs to be non-unique and bellow 300 pts, which rules out Arch-Kavalos Zandtos.
As a result I am thinking to run Liege-Kavalos as the general and the Soulreaper in a different regiment to have acces to a wizard. Or maybe the other way around so that I can use Arch-Kavalos Zandtos.
Lastly, what would you recommend me as my next buys in future that support those two boxes the most? I am thinking a better wizard and the endless spells

2025.01.30 07:54 workaccountandshit Why am I able to screenshot dead pixels / artefacts on my monitor?
I'm working on an old monitor from 2017 and a lot of blue dots appeared in the bottom right corner. I thought 'welp, finally died!' but then I noticed they only appear within Slack. Not on any other screen or app.
I then sent a screenshot to my colleague, in which the dots were visible (I know this wouldn't be possible with an actual broken screen) and the screenshot clearly shows the blue dots. He doesn't see them.
He then sent me a screenshot of my screenshot, which on my side still show the blue dots. When opening the screenshot on my phone, they don't appear.
I've been in IT for 8 years and have no idea how that's possible haha. How is that? I can move the screenshot around and the blue dots follow.

2025.01.30 07:54 the_purpose_is_you I barely remember anything I've studied
I've taken 2 years now to study an 18 month EN course due to severe depression and fear. I want to be a nurse, however. I really struggle to retain information as memory loss and apathy is common with depression. I've done 3 out of 4 placements and recently cancelled my placement which was due to start in a few days. I cancelled as I have intense fear around not knowing what to do and fucking up once I'm actually a nurse. I've had some tough times on placements where I was told I have a lot to improve on before I step into the field even though I have tried my best. It's really hard not to compare myself to my classmates as they seem to have done really well. I've very fortunantly been able to defer for 9 months to sort my mental health out and I can come back as soon as I feel up to it. I don't know wether to try a different career or stick it out. I've got vol 1 and 2 of the tabbners theory and practice to refresh but it's much harder to get that to sink in. I believe I have the compassion to be a nurse but worried I don't have the mental strength. I'm just wondering if anyone can relate and if there is anything to help me refresh my memory in the mean time. Thanks

It’s been 6 days and I have been through all the emotions. I’ve played through all the scenarios in my head trying to imagine how long I will continue to suffer from anxiety and depression. I am the type to let things worry me and this is pushing me to my limit mentally/psychologically.
Something that I feel that I would like to know is stories of victims who have survived having their personal content leaked. (Specifically to your followers on instagram). I feel it would help me to visualize and mentally prepare for a “worst case scenario” in the event that I do get leaked. My questions would be how many followers actually saw it. How long after no contact was it leaked? Has it been detrimental to you professionally and personally? I don’t think I’ve read many stories of people having their “lives ruined” like the scammers threat but would like to know if those stories are out there.
I realize it is traumatic to share and I understand people are uncomfortable sharing.

 | Last summer was my first attempt at a real garden. I grew a good amount of stuff, but had a lot of trouble with my large tomato varieties, squash, and onions. I did a lot of research beforehand and couldn’t figure out why things went badly, so I thought I’d take to here to get some advice. I’ll get into specifics below For my soil I bought some organic soil bags and compost bags from Lowe’s. I mixed it up in the beds with a roughly 70% soil and 30% compost mix. Grow bags were all soil, but the beds had logs on the bottom, dead leaves on top, and then the top 12 inches of the bed was the soil mix that I made. All beds and grow bags were topped off with chicken manure also bought from Lowe’s for fertilizer I grew both of my squash varieties in 25 gallon grow bags. They were well watered and had a lot of sunlight. I think they never produced fruit because I never self pollinated them, but I did have a lot of bees around the garden so I figured it was taken care of. My issue that I can’t figure out was that they never got to a decent size, they sprawled out just enough to reach the ground and then essentially wilted up and died. My tomatoes were growing in a 6x3 18in deep steel garden bed. I used the Florida Weave Method to keep them supported, and had 7 tomato varieties. 3 of them cherry tomatoes, 1 heirloom tomato, 1 San Marzano, 1 Willamette Valley, and 1 Pineapple. All the cherry tomatoes did fine, I didn’t manage to get a single tomato out of the Pineapple, San Marzano, or Heirloom varieties. I got maybe 5 small tomatoes off of the Willamette Valley variety. I had all of these tomatoes together in this bed, along with red onions planted between the rows (onions that never grew larger than my pinky), and basil planted on the edges of the bed. I’m thinking the tomatoes were planted too close? But the cherry tomatoes did fine? I hear that in Oregon we have trouble with having enough nitrogen in the soil? The San Marzano didn’t produce any viable fruit but did attempt to grow several small tomatoes which all ended up getting blossom end rot, so maybe it was the nitrogen? I got blossom end rot on most of the viable fruit from my Willamette Valley plant as well. I ended up buying some rot-stop as per my bosses advice and gave them a spray but it didn’t seem to help at all. Lastly, does the same go for my onions? Did they not grow because they were planted in such a close proximity to other plants? Or was it an issue with the soil? PICTURES: I thought it would be helpful to include some pictures. The close up soil photos are from when I disassembled the bed due to a move. That’s what the base of the tomato plant looked like in September, and the soil looked almost moldy? But was hard and brittle. The close up of the tomato is my San Marzano when it was producing fruit but all fruit was getting blossom end rot, not growing in size, and not ripening. The next 2 photos include pictures of the bed the tomatoes were growing in, I thought a reference for spacing would be helpful. In the last picture you can see the squash at about their peak. As a new gardner I’m unsure on so many things, and I know growing in the PNW comes with its own set of rules! i used to have a crush on someone and when he found out i liked him, he said sorry because he thought we were joking around when we were being flirty and after 1-2 years of not talking to eachother (because he said he didnt want rumors to be spread around), he's trying to get close to me and is including me in his conversations or approaching me and because of that I kinda got attached again to the attention he is giving me — I dont know what to do with it. I dont know if he is trying to give hints or if he just wants to be friends. I dont want to tell anyone else that I like him again because it feels pathetic. And im a guy, I dont want to have a boyfriend, i want to have my own family someday...
Also i think hes genuinely a nice person its just that we were both just 13 and he was really flirty, we didnt really have any deep or meaningful conversations until he found out i liked him and we had a heart to heart talk and that was pretty much it.
If he did have a crush on me now would it be messed up or like bad that he is trying to approach me because this time he likes me??

Recently everytime he tries to talk to me I mostly just answer straight to the point, not really prolonging the conversation... but I feel snobbish so now I ask him questions back. To just yknow, reciprocate the effort. back when i first talked to him I used to be that person who always approached everyone, admittedly because I wanted to fit in. Now I dont do that, I talk to the people who approach me, but its really weird for me that now he is the one approaching me.
There is only 4 months left of 10th grade and my only hope for me of moving on is that he is going to a different school by the time were in the 11th grade.

Hey yall. Been again after a while. I just had to ask if any of us out there are following a carnivore, keto, or low carb diet? Iv just got rock bottom as I lay here listening to my sick child I'll have to take to the doctor cough up a lungin his room as I lay in bed. Called out from another night of work. Doing nothing. From numerous lab work and er and doctors visits in dealing with inflammation. All through my body from crohns. My arthritis is full force in every joint it occupies. My stoma is prolapsed from the pressure of just standing up and all the internal swelling. Plus coughing nonstop from being sick also. In to much pain to work and provide but such in that purgatory of "not sick enough to stay here". Iv always thought the carnivore diet was my end so be all. I know it's a fad and not considered a long term thing in some circles but honestly I'm just looking for a break. It's been raining for well over a year and I'm soaked. I'm just looking for the clouds to part just once. After surgury they told me to stay away from sugar like many of us. Now I'm being told carbohydrates are also my enemy and contributing. This information by the way is from multiple different doctors and forms of practice and two different university health systems in two different states. In my small corner in west virginia USA that's about the same treatment the president could expect around here so that's that. Obviously diet is specific to every person. It's a myriad of thousands of different things that differ even more based on individual. I'm just wondering if a mainly fat and protein diet is even possible having an ileostomy. Long term im leaning whole food no processed dairy or sugar. Coming from an island culture i can't really see a life with NO carbs. Plus im a nutrition major and my thoughts on all of dieting for anybody is balance. You can live without animal products and you can live with just them but iv always felt truth health an wellness is found from the perfect balance of both. Thanks for reading and sorry for format!
