2025.01.30 08:10 Temporary-Cycle6224 Is anyone else really clear about what/how they’re supposed to BE for their union to unfold?
I am absolutely not at my highest potential. I have my highest potential reflected back at me pretty consistently by people I meet. It comes spontaneously in response to others but I can rarely get there on my own for example in front of a camera conveying what it is I offer.
Im getting so desperate not being able to get there being so scared I spend my days constantly crying like i can’t give birth to the thing I feel coming down or stuck in the birth canal.
She’s scared to move forward. Im scared to move forward. We both spend our days clinging and distracting and in addictions and crying about how we’re scared to move forward.
So it’s obvious to me why we’re not in union. I don’t really want to be in union when I’m this desperate and constipated and helpless. Im running from this part of myself that is so difficult to access I can’t even name it and yet half the time I am around people everyone’s reflecting it back to me they see it. And then I get home and I can’t be in it unless other people draw it out of me. I can’t hold the frequency I was intended to hold in this planet without leaning on other people to draw it out of me.
Can anyone relate? FYI I do NOT want any advice or reassurance on my situation.
I want to know if anyone else is experiencing something similar where they are CLEAR on at least the next phase of their true purpose and yet are more crippled and terrified than they have ever been ever in their life to take DIRECT steps toward it. Of course I take STEPs toward it but with subtle side stepping toward some adjacent frequency that is ultimately compensatory and evasive of hitting even a building block head on. Im so scared all I can do is pace like a restless caged animal altering between distractions addictions and crying and light physical activity.

There are people who seriously hate on a work just because it doesn’t have the feats they want. That makes no sense.
I’ll focus on Classroom of the Elite (COTE), but this applies to many works in general.
One of the most criticized aspects is off-screen feats. I also tend to lower a character’s ranking when their achievements aren’t shown directly, but hating them and dedicating entire posts just to trash them—when they’re just another character in the story—is an overreaction. Authors don’t create their characters with the intention that fans will rank their feats.
In Kiyotaka’s case, most of his achievements are on-screen, though there are exceptions, like the chess match. What did people expect? A fully narrated game? That would be ridiculous. Almost no anime, novel, or manga has done that—or at least I don’t remember any that have. Even worse are those who try to scale his chess level based purely on the anime.
Kiyotaka’s strategies and plans are shown on-screen, but many times they’re revealed afterward with the classic “I planned it all along,” just like 90% of stories with intelligent characters. Patrick Jane, for example, in The Mentalist, is one of the highest-ranked SCD characters and follows the same narrative style. Sometimes, authors only explain the basics of a plan, making it seem simple at first, but when analyzed, it turns out to be much more impressive.
Another point of criticism is the narrative and what some call “low-tier feats.” Some characters are labeled as “geniuses,” yet their achievements don’t seem all that impressive. But that’s absurd because those same feats would be extremely difficult in real life. They only seem less impressive when compared to other works.
In COTE, no character has ever been explicitly called a "genius," except for Sakayanagi (Kiyo is a different case). And she proved it: she figured out Kiyotaka’s objectives, quickly summed numbers in Volume 11 without tricks, led her team on the island with her high FSIQ, and despite having less experience, she is on par with Ayanokouji in chess—who, as a child, defeated his masters. Her achievements are solid; they only seem minor when compared to other stories. And yes, her feats in strategy, planning, and deception happen off-screen. I also rank her lower because I dislike off-screen feats, but that doesn’t change the fact that Sakayanagi is a genius. The reason her feats are off-screen is obvious: COTE is written in the first person, and the author only uses third-person narration in meetings between other characters. That’s just his style.
Now, going back to what I said before: authors don’t write characters to be compared.
Each story has its own narrative style, its own way of telling events, and the type of story it wants to convey. Different ranking methods can put certain works at a disadvantage.
The stories that have the biggest advantage in scaling are gambling-based ones. Why? Because this type of story allows the author to play more with strategies and expand the range of intellectual feats. At their core, these stories revolve around suspenseful confrontations between intelligent characters. They usually feature highly complex and sometimes dangerous challenges, even dedicating entire chapters just to explaining rules or strategies. In contrast, other stories have more narrative limitations.
The differences in situations are clear. It would feel extremely forced for Death Note to suddenly have a test like those in Usogui or Liar Game. Or for COTE to have an exam where the loser dies, LOL. It would also be ridiculous for Patrick Jane in The Mentalist to be forced into a life-or-death game instead of solving cases.
SCD doesn’t have a perfect scaling system, but it doesn’t matter—it works, and it’s entertaining. But hating a work just because you don’t find its feats impressive compared to others? That’s just dumb.
Sometimes, people hate a series because of its fanbase, which happens to me too—I hate a lot of COTE fans. But I try to stay calm.
