2025.01.30 15:15 Gronda Help wiring my first Shelly
Hi all, I've picked up a Shelly Plus 1 PM which I intend to use in place of an existing timeswitch for a heated towel rail. Before I wire it in, I've been trying to get the circuit worked out. Can someone who knows more about this sort of thing confirm whether the setup in the picture is correct?

Essentially I will have the mains power coming in as live (brown) and neutral (blue) as per the two lengths of flex on the right. The neutral from the towel rail will then run into the other N terminal on the Shelly and the live into the 0 on the Shelly. For my test setup I was running a 24v supply into the device and as per the multimeter was seeing a steady 23.55v out when the Shelly was set to on.

Hallo Schwarmintelligenz. Mein Elternhaus mit riesen Grundstück, 8 Zimmer auf 3 Etagen, grob 150 qm kann nur noch schwer bewirtschaftet werden. Makrolage Pampa, Mikrolage in Ordnung. Nun können wir ein kleines Häuschen in meiner Nachbarschaft kaufen, meine Eltern würden einziehen. Erster Gedanke = Altes Haus verkaufen. Aber gibt es aus eurer Sicht Alternativen? Ist sowas vermietbar? Riesen-WG im Dorf unvorstellbar eigentlich und Vermietung an Sozialträger vermutlich aufgrund der Nähe zur Hauptverkehrsstraße nicht möglich. Was würdet ihr tun, wenn ihr eiiiiiiiiigentlich nicht verkaufen müsstet, es aber nicht leerstehen soll?

2025.01.30 15:15 HuumanScientist ACCA Annual Subscription Fee after becoming member
I had the annual subscription fee due in my account before the Jan results. It was my qualifying attempt and I got an email saying I’ve become a member last week. My students portal is now non accessible and I’ve access to the members portal now on which the annual subscription fee which was due is not being reflected. Only the invoice of £311 for membership admission fee is due.
Did anyone else face the same? I’m only concerned about it because I don’t want them removing me from the register because I didn’t pay the annual subscription fee (which was already due) and it’s my understanding that you’ve to pay it to get your certificate along with with membership admission fee.

I'm walking 3 hours a day on my walking pad doing 18km per day.
I do it between 9am and 2pm daily when I'm usually stuck in meetings.

I was planning to this weekend but then got this anonymous ridiculous letter from a neighbor and now may keep it up forever. Bear in mind there are several houses in the area that have crap in their yards, on their porch, other such “blights”. Trying to think of some method of retaliation but so far I got nothing. I've always been tangentially interested in home networking. I'll be looking at something tech related and it's been in the back of my mind to set up a more robust network. Finally bought a house and can start doing bigger scale things to make it fit to my needs, but I feel very lost. I just read the FAQ pinned at the top of this sub and didn't understand over half of it. I need something more tailored to complete beginners like myself.
What I've always assumed about a home network is that it's a system to provide internet access throughout your home and could also provide local needs such as storage or gadget management, etc. I also have a small interest in setting up a server, although I'm completely ignorant of how that would work or how useful it would be for me as well. I play a lot of games and I'm familiar with home servers insofar as I know they can be used to host gaming servers (my mother has one for her Ultima Online shard), but as I understand it they could be useful for things like media storage and playback, file management, etc.
Can anyone point me in the direction I need to start? I feel like I don't have a basic level understanding to find many of the posts or resources of this sub useful. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you! :D
