2025.01.30 15:12 Bu11ett00th How do I play this game?!
Bit of a misleading title, I've been playing since 1999. Always casually though, medium difficulty (where we have equal resources and AI plays at its best).
I've gotten relatively good at combat, but I feel I don't know something about the strategic layer that gives me devastating losses on bigger maps SOMETIMES.
Like this time playing Barren Lands I've managed to secure a good army from the get-go and do exploration without much losses. Then I encounter one AI that somehow gets 55 titans to join him despite having good but not outstanding army, and another AI that I crush in combat with some losses but he just comes back a week later and - again - loses against me but leaves me with nothing but half of my Tier6&7 stacks (I'm Cove).
Now you'd say that this isn't bad, but both of these battles happened within the span of 1.5 weeks and after I united my whole roaming army with my whole home army, that's 5 months worth of almost no losses just gone. I simply can't afford continuing this way but AI seems fine just throwing meat at me and somehow hiring as much again. Even if I weakened them in a major way, other AI players are now too powerful for me to compete against and the run is pretty much done.
What do you do in these cases? Or it just do be this way sometimes?

Hello,
I am completely new to Home Assistant.
So far I've been using the Bosch Ecosystem, just running window sensors and thermostats. But I am quite unhappy with their algorithm, which always overshoots the temperature, even though the measured temperature is correct.
Now, I am planning to go smarter, and want to go Home Assistant on the Pi5 4GB.
Since it is quite capable, I don't want to commit the whole device just to HA. Looking up possibilities, I could use Docker to run HA in a container, but wouldn't be able to easily use plugins or update.
Others state how great running HA on a virtual machine is, also regarding easy backup capabilities.
Can HA be run on VM on a Pi5? And if so, is there a step-by-step tutorial?

From one day to the next, the cost of generating images as drafts has gone up drastically. It used to be 5 buzz for a draft, and around 12 for a standard 4 image generation for me, but as of today, the draft and the standard cost the same. This does not depend on the models etc. as I tried remixing an old image that cost 5 buzz to generate as a draft yesterday, but today costs 11-12, 0% tip. What's the deal? I'm fairly new, was there a lower cost for new users?

I have few questions regarding the July intake application. I am an international student intending to major in mechanical engineering. Currently taking International GCE A Levels.
- If I understood it right, BSc is not available to apply for 2025 July intake?? Is there some kind of bug with the application form or is it actually unavailable for this year? I was really hoping to apply for July intake application.
- If I am taking international A levels, is it mandatory to have taken English lang. at an A level? Where I study, taking english as an A level is not that common but can I still apply?
- Do I put in Year 11 on the highest school level completed question? because I have not completed year 12 yet? Should I say 2025 as the year I graduated year 12 even though I actually havent?

2025.01.30 15:12 Ok-Independence4094 my kitten doesn’t tolerate wet food (tw: vomit)
my kitten (about 8m old) has vomited with every single wet food we’ve given him. his brother has never gotten sick!! When it first started, I noticed little particle of white specs in his sickness which matched our cat tower so we removed it. all diff types of cat food we’ve tried: pate, chunks, diff flavors, diff brands, nothing seems to make it stop. Note: he is still very playful, his litter hasn’t changed, not having loose stools or changes in stool.
His dry food hasn’t made him sick. I recently called the vet to get an appointment but I have rent coming up and idk how much it will be for him to be examined. I want to prioritize my little babies but I have bills to pay.
I have him on his dry food now and they have a water fountain on and filled all day. The vet told my mom’s cats (who are adults) if they have free range to water and they drink a lot, then dry food is fine. But my little ones are young, so I would hate for smth to happen. Should I cancel the appointment and reschedule? TIA
