I can’t do anything in this stupid apartment complex. I want a goddamn house in college so that’s not attainable. I don’t think I’ve ever been in an apartment complex that wasn’t so poorly fucking maintained that living there wasn’t a job in and of itself. I don’t understand how anyone is able to live a normal life living in a goddamn apartment. I can’t get any of my fucking homework done without the fire alarm going off. It does this multiple times a day and it’s a false alarm most of the time but they make us evacuate anyway. All of the units are in one building. It seems like the alarms in the main building go off for no fucking reason but maintenance won’t do shit about it. I am fed up with this place. I was doing better when I went on vacation because I was away from this shit hole. I could actually sleep through the night without getting woken up at 3 am having to rush outside in my fucking pajamas. I behind on my coursework already because of this shit I keep getting interrupted. I know it cost more but there’s a reason I always study at the fucking cafés instead of being in my goddamn apartment. I can’t even take a fucking shower! The alarm went off when I was the middle one, and of course we were expected to get the fuck out, even though it turned out to be nothing as usual. I didn’t even have time to get dressed. They wanted us out of there immediately. All I had time to do was put on a fleece bathrobe and some house shoes. i’m probably going to get arrested for indecent exposure or put in the psych ward for this shit. Yes I had it tied closed as tightly as it would go but people could probably tell I didn’t have anything on under it and I’m a trans guy so thats even more reason for them to accuse me of public indecency. clearly there is something wrong with the fucking alarms because it is not normal for them to go off this often, but even though the resident put in loads of complaints. They won’t fucking do anything about it.

Hey all, I'm looking for a good e-scooter than can handle the steep hills in my area but that also has a basket and seat for me to use. I have some joint issues that make it hard to walk to the store so I want to be able to use this scooter to pick up groceries. It's my understanding I need a dual motor and at LEAST 1000W to get up the hills in my area but I can't find any with a seat and basket. Am I out of luck? I know I can get a basket separately to attach but I'm worried about weight limit with that like if I want to buy milk at the store.

The way these types of article are written - it sounds like these second home buyers are getting away with avoiding taxes.
Regardless of resident or not - anyone with a second home over $1M is going to be paying A LOT in additional taxes.
For Maui - these homes they are talking about would be taxed at $8.50 per $1000 if valued $1-3m and $14 per $1000 if valued above $3m.
So a $3 million dollar vacation home in Wailea (building 900 not affordable) would be taxed $42,000 per year $3,500 per month. They dont have kids in public schools. They are no economic drain really other than land. 900 units at an average of $42,000 is $37,800,000 in just property taxes a year. None of them send their kids to public schools.
A $2 million dollar apartment/townhouse would be $17,000 year or $1416 a month.
Hardly getting away with not paying taxes. Free ride using our State and Local Services???
They also spend more than most - higher standards - supporting local businesses.
