2025.01.30 19:01 Anthro_Doing_Stuff Has anybody ever had a business where payment was intentionally delayed for several months?
I know this sounds super weird but I am on Medicaid in the US and am hoping to move to another country soon. I have health issues and do not want to deal with the stress of the US healthcare system anymore. That being said, there is a specific country I want to move to and they do not have a digital nomad visa. I basically need to work and save up money, but I don’t want to lose Medicaid before I go. I also don’t want to deal with an ACA plan. I’ve already gotten some clients for the business I’m starting now, but I’ve put it on hold for income reasons. I’m guessing maybe I can delay the billing, but anybody else had some kind of a business model where the payments were intentionally delayed for 3-6 months?

2025.01.30 19:01 Deeb4905 Do deaf people who newly got implants need to learn words pronunciation?
Like, if someone who's been deaf since birth just got implants and I start to talk to them, would they understand me? Because they've only been in contact with language through reading, they've never heard the sounds. So how would they know how to associate the sounds that I'm making to words? To me it's similar to a child learning how to read, at first they don't recognize the words at all even though they know it while speaking, because it's a different way to represent them.
I've seen videos of people getting cochlear implants and being able to reply when asked questions. How did they understand the questions? Maybe they became deaf later in life and still remember sounds, maybe at first they read lips and that's what allows them to build the connections between words/sounds over time, finally being able to understand someone without seeing them?
What is wrong, what is right? If that's how it works, how long does it take to learn that?

2025.01.30 19:01 Former-Promise-7479 Army Aviation leadership killed 67 people
I am an active duty United States Army instructor pilot, CW3, in a Combat Aviation Brigade. The Army as a whole is most likely entirely responsible for the crash in Washington DC that killed 64 civilians, plus the crew of the H60 and it will happen again.
For decades, Army pilots have complained about our poor training and being pulled in several directions to do every other job but flying, all while our friends died for lack of training and experience.
That pilot flying near your United flight? He has flown fewer than 80 hours in the last year because he doesn’t even make his minimums. He rarely studied because he is too busy working on things entirely unrelated to flying for 50 hours per work week.
When we were only killing each other via our mistakes, no one really cared, including us. Army leadership is fine with air crews dying and attempts to solve the issue by asking more out of us (longer obligations) while taking away pay and education benefits.
You better care now, after our poor skill has resulted in a downed airliner and 64 deaths. This will not be the last time. We will cause more accidents and kill more innocent people.
For those careerist CW4, CW5, and O6+ about to angrily type out that I am a Russian or Chinese troll, you’re a fool. I want you to be mad about the state of Army aviation and call for it to be fixed. We are an amateur flying force. We are incompetent and dangerous, we know it, and we will not fix it on our own. We need to be better to fight and win our nation’s wars, not kill our own citizens.
If you don’t want your loved ones to be in the next plane we take down, you need to contact your Congressman and demand better training and more focus on flying for our pilots. Lives depend on it and you can be sure the Army isn’t going to fix itself.

Hiya all, a few minutes ago I was playing Piggy as titled, I was trying to get the Mrs P. Skin but failed multiple times with my cousins. We got to the final stage, We did it all but when I gave the final heart to Mrs. P, Badgey came up to me and killed me even though the screen already went black (I knew it was him because of the hitting sound). I went back to check and I didn't get it which I'm upset about and wondered why I didn't get it even though the screen went black already?

2025.01.30 19:01 Chesire-Koshka A Cancellation Warning for Items that Never Arrived?
I'm totally confused, because outside of maybe three or four cancellations, - two items were taken off the order list at a vendor's request, maybe?
Then, VINE removed a number of items I never received, and they were pretty apologetic about it.
I had a number of orders that were supposed to arrive on the 18th of January, but my mailroom said it never reached them, and they're very good at setting all my things aside for me. Just seems odd that I got all my mail/packages the day before and the day after, but that one day - nothing!
So, I contacted UPS, filed an escalation report, and told Amazon of the steps I took. The response I got was very nice and understanding.
The only other time I had an issue was when there were two items I requested coming from the same vendor, and for some reason it was addressed my name, but going to a totally different city. UPS said it was returned to the vendor.
I made a point of telling VINE each time it happened, and even offered to show them proof, but all I got was this pop up about cancellations.
Confused here.
