Bueno ayer se cumplió un año de la muerte de la niña de 6 años llamada Hind Rajab en Palestina.
Sigo sin poder explicarme por qué esa historia me afecto tanto. No suelo conmoverme fácilmente con este tipo de casos; muchas veces veo, leo, y simplemente sigo adelante. No sé si generalmente mi mente bloquea esas historias como una forma de protección contra tanta crueldad. Pero con el caso de la niña Hind Rajab es distinto. No se si fue su voz en el teléfono, el miedo que se escucha, el dolor, la soledad que se siente o saber cual fue el desenlace.
Pocas cosas me han perturbado tanto como su historia. No logro entender por qué esta en particular me atraviesa de una forma que otras no. No soy padre, pero tengo sobrinos de edad y tal vez es por eso, solo imaginar el terror que sintió esa criatura de seis años, atrapada en el horror, pidiendo ayuda, pidiendo perdón a su madre por manchar su vestido con sangre, no se.

I am 20yo,female, very slim at 152cm and 42kg. I am of south Asian descent. I have had two blood tests to test my hba1c. One was a year ago, and was 33, one was 5 months ago and I was 34. My most recent blood test showed a massive unexpected spike to 48!l am skinny and young so I am so confused. I know that lack of sleep can cause insulin problems and to be honest, l've been sleeping 3-4am alot as im a uni student. I eat a high carb diet and snack on crisps chocolate, milkshakes. I am just so confused and can't stop worrying and crying about my massive spike in hba1c that I never suspected. also my mum had gestational diabetes, my dad used to have pre diabetes but got rid of It I think, and 3/4 of my grandparents had diabtes, so I think genetics has sumthing to do with it. the rest of my blood results: FBC, thyroid, liver kidney, cholesterol etc. are good. I am feeling so worried and can't stop crying. I need to have a repeat hba1c in 2 weeks as well the urine albumin to creatine ratio pee test. My fasting glucose was 4.7 tho so l am so confused ugh. Also I used to have pretty bad iron deficiency ( 3 ferritin, 5% iron sat etc.) but now I don't.

2025.01.30 18:59 A_Spiritual_Artist Am I too deferential to people's trust boundaries around talking politics?
When I was in a previous University, during year 2018, I started talking to a faculty member who did not know me well about issues that were brought up by the Parkland shooting and subsequent activism. The discussion seemed very honest, civil, productive, and enjoyable in the moment.
... And then, the next day I see an email box in my email from my therapist (also part of the University system) summoning me to the office, and I find out there that he had "reported" me apparently because somehow it made him uncomfortable to be talking those heavy political matters with a stranger even if they , and the therapist proceeded to explain to me and chew me on that you "only talk that politics with close/intimate friends who have lots of trust" - kinds of friends I do not have, though I do now also have some at least slight acquaintances who I know from groups explicitly political and so of course talking politics with them is fair game, but I also won't be "winning new people over" with that kind of thing because they already agree with me. The logic of inhibition within me is "it's wrong to violate others' boundaries around who they do and don't trust with certain things". But then I also have a thought going that I am "making excuses for inaction" and so blameworthy. But also I then hear another thought sneaking in that "maybe I should just blow off their boundaries as 'the end justifies the means' and these times are really serious and the price of inaction and apathy extraordinarily grave". And this thought seems to feel like it assuages that inhibitory worry, but the moment I try to actually act on it I get this sense of guilt or recrimination creeping in like "I am choosing to wrong people and that is morally unacceptable". Which then leads me back to inaction - ironically, also morally unacceptable. Thus causing a ping-pong with nothing getting done.
Indeed, this inhibition and conflict is and has been so strong those past 7 years that seeing the calls to "organize" steadily grow and even moreso now that Trump is back with a vengeance, the tension and dissonance is causing a horrific toll on my mental health to the point I am feeling really worried about what I might do if this continues further without a resolution to it that I can place great trust and confidence in the truth and moral authority of.

Problem/Goal: I've tried dieting pero sobrang inconsistent ko dahil sa cravings at pag lumalabas with workmates at friends. Before i knew it, 53kg na ko which I really hate. I always used to get praised for being slim. 44-47kg yung weight na namamaintain ko before.
Context: I'm so tired of dieting and diet culture. I'm tired na nagugutom, hilo at pagod palagi. I want to go back to 45kg atleast pero nawawalan na ko pag asa because body image and dieting has always been a stressful point in my life.
Previous attempts: I used to workout and go to the gym pero nilamon nalang talaga ng depression at anxiety (I'm diagnosed) Ever since taking antidepressants nawalan nalang din talaga ako gana.
Maybe the corporate life overall isn't for me and I just need a major lifestyle change. I can't live this way anymore.

2025.01.30 18:59 jmjm1 Using the Viofo tool for formatting the SD card?
I downloaded the guiformat tool but I am getting this error message when selecting Start:
"Failed to open device.....The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process"
(If I Eject the SD Card via "Safely Remove Hardware...." then the guiformat tool doesnt show the drive letter (E) of the drive. I know I am missing something way easy so thanks in advance)
