2025.01.30 19:00 Jesperwr Wifi on my Macbook only stable when through connected through a hotspot
I am having this quite weird issue. My internet connection cuts out quite often - every 20-30 minutes but I stay connected to the wifi. If I connect to the same internet but through a hotspot with my (non-Apple) phone I experience 0 cutouts in internet connection. My phone is connected to the same wifi, and just acts as a medium between my router and computer in a way.
My setup is my Macbook Pro M1 and a Huawei B525 4G router that sits in my window (2 meters away with any interferring elements) in the direction of two the nearest masts that my ISP uses.
I am aware that the Huawei router isn't the best but I am not in a position to invest in a new one.
What I tried so far:
- Restarting both my computer and the router.
- Factory reseting the router.
- With a WiFi analyser app finding the best channels for 2.4 and 5 Ghz (still running with manually chosen channels)
- Switching to a lower Mhz on the router (still running with this setting currently)
- Doing a WiFi diagnostics report on my Macbook
- Renewing the DHCP lease
Any got know of a fix for this? It's quite annoying either having to deal with internet cut outs or having to go through a hotspot all the time

For context: I have a bachelor's and a master's. They are a bit unrelated, but I found a role that kind of merges them. It took me over 500 jobs applications to land it and it is technically an internship, part-time role.
I have been in this role for 1.5 years now. I was supposed to be converted to full-time with benefits and they told me I would be getting the PDF documents for 1-2 weeks from HR, but then they basically rescind it and it has been under review for 2-3 months.
Hiring is at a freeze at my company, but they maintain my part-time role would still be necessary and not at risk. They just might not have budget to convert me to full-time.
Because of this, I am loosely looking for jobs but the market is slow. Alternatively, if I can't get a new job within 2 months and continue to stay but they don't convert me to full-time, is it reasonable to ask for a raise? I am currently at $20/hour. Is it reasonable to ask for $21/hour? Where I live, $18/hour is minimum wage but where the job is the minimum wage is $17.25.
The other issue is--I am technically an "intern" but I am the only one that has this speciality skill and am treated as the "expert" in this discipline, but just a newbie in the specific industry. So in some ways I am severely underpaid and not an intern, but in some ways I am an intern.

Hello! I am in the market for a Miata and am in between a soft top or hardtop. I am in Florida and don’t have a garage to park it in so it would be outside all the time. I am leaning toward hardtop but am concerned the hardtop mechanisms fail more often. Is the hardtop reliable? Would that be a better option in a hot place where the sun would always be beating on my cat?

I was in a car accident last month with my boyfriend. He was driving, I was passenger, but it was my car and deemed a total loss. He decided to get checked out at the ER and I opted out. I, unfortunately, had to change my job status from full-time to PRN. He received a check for “pain and suffering” (something along the lines of that) and had all of his medical expenses paid. They’re being a haggle with me, taking forever to decide if I should receive anything. I was told by my insurance agent to contact collisions then told by them to contact claims. I’m not sure how to go about this. I feel I deserve at least $5k, the money I would have made full-time plus an extra something for “pain and suffering.” Is that too much? How much should I fight for? How should I go about this?
I have full-coverage through State Farm.
