2025.01.30 19:00 Fish-The-Fish How do you amplify a passive PA through a sound board?

Hey! So my band bought a used fender passport for $100, it was a really good deal! It worked really well, but then we tried to use it with a power generator to do a set in the park, and it blew. It now no longer will turn on (if anyone knows how expensive it would be to repair we'd appreciate that too!), but yeah, so now we bought a soundboard thinking that it would be able to amplify it, but barely any sound comes out of the pa now. It just takes a quarter inch in, and that's all. Any clue on how to amplify them? We've used headphone amplifiers and a chain of 3 headphone amplifers works to power the speakers, but besides that, we haven't figured out an alternative. Please help!! We probably will invest in a powered pa soon, but would love to use these as wedges as they are good speakers and still have use!

2025.01.30 19:00 MyHonestViews Can someone help clarify what PCI-E 3.0 chipset is on motherboard that I'm thinking is a PCI-E 4.0 motherboard?

I am looking at putting together a new build that will take advantage of PCI-E 4.0 support. Right now, I have the CPU, GPU, and storage devices. Those were easy to find as they are clearly indicated that they support PCI-E 4.0
But I am super confused on picking the right motherboard. After researching I though I had found motherboard that support PCI-E 4.0 but I don't understand when these boards indicate PCI-E 3.0 on the chipsets as show below.
Is there something that I should be looking at in the specs that will tell me that the motherboard is PCI-E 4.0 compliant?

Hi everyone!
I've a rog strix g15ce, bought on february 2022 (warranty expired) and I have a problem with my GPU fan (broken) that is not even detected by the bios. So, while i wait for the fan replacement (it comes from china), i've decided to buy 3 more fans to improve the airflow of the case and keep my RTX 3060 away from overheating.
The fans that i've bought are:

  1. 1x Be Quiet! Silent Wings 4 Pro PWM (120 mm)
  2. 2x Be quiet! Pure Wings 2 (80 mm)
Now, for the 120 mm I want to put it at the front so the air can enter directly on the GPU with broke fan, and the other 1 or 2 I've decided to use them as exausters so the more air can exit from the case.
From the PSU to the GPU i have around 9 cm of space and that could be a solution for one of the two 80mm as exauster.
Where I should put the other 1 or 2 exausters for more efficiency?

I know my opinion isn't going to be a popular one, but the fact that there has been no mention of limiting tells me everyone involved is only in it for the money. They don't care if someone buys $1k worth of boxes then drops them on ebay for double once the "first editions" are sold out. 1 box = 280 cards(28 packs, 10cards/pack) If the game play is even similar to pokemon you need 60 cards for a deck if you can't build a deck off of a 2 box limit(560 cards). You're only in it for the collecting and the scalp job. Anyway, I've said my piece and i'll let ya'll flame away.

Pretty much title. I’ve had the bump for two months. It got progressively larger. I went in twice for him to remove it (he put a needle in the hole) and clean it and then put it back. I’ve been cleaning it daily with the provided soap. I’ve also been ensuring the inside is clean since he said it could be build up pulling the piercing in.
The bump showed up a month after I had trauma to it, my dog smacked me with his fat head. But idk if it’s related since it showed up so much later?
It looks worse in person than in the picture. It looks like it would pop if you poked it. But at least it’s pink now and not red like before.
Labret, never downsized. It’s titanium. I don’t know what the soap he gave me is made out of. The piercing is 4 months old, so it was normal for 2 months then had the bump for 2 months. Idk much about threading, but the post is hollow and the pin goes in the top.
I loved the piercing before it got so huge and don’t want to lose it. Is it possible that if I remove it, it won’t be possible to reopen it?
And yes, I did LITHA besides washing it and wiping the boogers on the inside off. When I washed it I used cotton rounds to dry it, but have switched to gauze after browsing this sub. For the inside, I used q-tips, except one time when I was sick and there was a big wet booger wrapped around the post (gross) and it wouldn’t come off, so I carefully used tweezers to pull it off. I did my best not to touch the post at all. And I don’t clean the inside every day. I check it with a mirror every day but don’t clean it unless I see something.

2025.01.30 19:00 Due-Driver55 My cat ate a rat.

I have had this amazing cat tor a couple of years now and since he is an indoors cat we have never been subject to the witness of seeing a cat eat a rat.
I was going about my day and was about to give him some food and was washing his plate when all of a sudden I see my cat in the dining room with something in its mouth that has fur sticking out of it aswell as a whisper like the ones cats have on their face.
And I wasn’t a 100% sure weather or not it was a rat but I definitely knew it was a animal at this point so I then tried to get the cat to come to me so I could get a closer look but It ran away upstairs with the thing still in its mouth and it hid under our bed and when I tried to get it to come out from under the bed it growled at me which he rarely does.
And then I left it and thought he would just come downstairs by himself because he likes to eat his food downstairs (this time his pray) and doesn’t like to eat it upstairs and within a minute he was back downstairs after I had left him and I grabbed one of his blankets and put it over him and grabbed him from his back two legs because I’m terrified of rats didn’t want see and I brought it into the living room and closed the door behind were my partner was and he used his blanket to retrieve the dead rat and basically conformed that it was a rat and there the rat and the blanket in the bin outside because the blanket was old and ripped to bits anyway and we were planning on throwing it away as the cat has other better blankets already.
And my question while I sit here absolutely terrified of a rat coming up to me as their very well could be more of them and their army should I take my cat to the vet to get him checked out just in case or should I leave it as cats do eat rats as the book of cat lore says but it’s our cats first time eating a rat so idk what the measures I should be doing are because the rat could have a disease that it very well have passed on to my cat idk. Maybe I’m freaking out for nothing and my cat’s fine but I also don’t know if I should just take it in.
