Hello, I’m trying to understand how mixups can happen when microchips and what the implications of this situation might be:
I adopted a cat for my folks 4 years ago from a “rescue” that is now closed due to being a horribly ran scam and the woman who owned it is now in jail. So this cat’s origins are sketchy to say the least. I have a receipt and photo from this rescue, so hopefully our bases are covered in terms of how we got him.
When we initially took him to the vet (he’s been a medical mess since day 1) they told us he was microchipped, but that he was incorrectly marked as a dog and we needed to get it fixed. My dad called the microchip company and they said “no, your vet probably just read the numbers wrong.” My dad dropped it bc he didn’t want to deal with the back/forth, the cat is an indoor cat with no interest in the outside world.
Cat went in for a dental, the vet brought up the microchip again. They confirmed that no, they didn’t read the numbers wrong, the microchip is registered as a dog and there is an owner’s name attached to it, and we need to call the microchip company again to have them correct it to our information.
Our questions/concerns are: 1. What’s more likely - that this cat was accidentally marked as a dog, or that someone else accidentally registered their dog to our microchip number? 2. If this cat was accidentally marked as a dog, and did actually belong to this couple on the microchip and was lost/stolen - does that mean my parents have to give him back?

I keep seeing it recommended to split night duty so each partner gets a longer stretch of sleep, is this possible with EBF? I didn’t pump with my first so maybe I have it all wrong but I thought if I did pump then I’d still need to pump again when they have a bottle, so I’d still be awake but with extra steps. What I mean is they could re-release Forza Horizon 1, 2, 3, 4 - 1 and 2 can probably be played fine on the switch successor and all of them can run on PS5. But also could bring them back to xbox after being delisted. A lot of people would probbaly like to buy forza horizon 1 digitally because they didn't realize it would be perma de-listed.
This is a rare opportunity for a heavily licensed game(s) to get a re-release that is actually profitable enough to make it worthwhile for all parties involved.
The switch could also maybe get Forza Motorsport 4 and 5 and Playstation could get all of them. PC as well.

Evercore hit the ball out of the park with their analysis of Deepseek. There is no "simple" answer, but a discussion of long term trends and how to think about the market. Why I can't post their note, I think that under fair use, I can post some top level stuff. Then encourage you to get them in your feed.

They then do a nice job of laying out tech cycles, and explaining their POV on where we are in the current trend.
The net-net: The market isn't over, and generally things like Deepseek will support the market. They do have a hypothesis that Deepseek type results may enable more local type LLMs or AI on the edge. I don't think I agree with this, but I do think that their viewpoint is worth debating.
