2025.01.30 23:21 PharmaCodeQuestions Will this telephone line I covered in 3M putty catch on fire or is it safe?

Will this telephone line I covered in 3M putty catch on fire or is it safe? Hi! I am putting a stick and peel backsplash in my apartment. Here was a telephone line outlet, and I wanted the backsplash to be flush against the wall and not protruding over that, or have it showing.
I got some “3M Fire Barrier Moldable Putty Stix” to put over the front of the line/outlet (it does not go into the outlet, just covering it) so no dust/debris can get into it, and the back so no wires are exposed. The outlet before will be pictured, and after the putty was placed as well. From what I read, the outlet itself is extremely unlikely to catch fire due to super low voltage, and putty is fire resistant and used on cables/wires/fills in gaps on electrical things.
A reference photo of about what it looked like on the back before I covered it will also be attached (i don’t know if the picture is the same type of outlet, but it looked like that will a bunch of colored wires and screws holding them).
I really appreciate any and all help! I am terrified of fires as I lived next to a house that caught on fire due to an inside only mini fridge being plugged into an outside outlet on a porch for several years. It had spread to 3 houses and it almost caught mine on too. I wish everybody the best :).

2025.01.30 23:21 Reddish_Leader How to find the line between Flare and pushing yourself too hard?

I have been feeling better lately (yay!), and as a result, I have been more active than I have been in a while (also yay!). But I’ve noticed that when I do things like socialize, the next day I feel like crap and /or I feel slightly less well than I did before that for a while afterwards. I am sure there was a point where I should have stopped what I was doing, gone home, said no to an activity etc. But I didn’t feel it in the moment and now it’s too late.
My question is how do you learn the line? What are the cues that you use to make these calls?

2025.01.30 23:21 Top-Theory2335 I reported my director to HR and I’m worried I might have tanked my career [VA]

I’m still pretty new (about 6 months) to the company I work for and I am currently going through my internal posting for a position that would be a promotion. Normally for this position in my department candidates have 1 interview, occasionally 2 interviews if there are scheduling conflicts. After my first interview (which my interviewer said went well) i received an invite for a 2nd interview and a 3rd interview. I reached out to the person who sent the interview meeting invites with questions to see if maybe I was just being offer time slot options? No, not the case.
I will do a brief summary here: (interview scheduler) confirmed 2 interviews is standard, I requested a change of interview date/time so that my posting process can be in the standard 2 interview format even offering a new date I believed may work, (interview scheduler) and (person my first interview was with) advised that is not possible and that there is no 1hour time slot in the next 30 days that could accommodate my request, (interview scheduler) claimed (director) had implemented a new process and my 1/23 interview was not an interview but a “pre-screening”. In the late afternoon of 1/28 (director) made a post in one of our department’s Teams groups outlining this new procedure.
I will also state here that I am aware that pre-screening are/can be a real step in the hiring process. I had a pre-screening while interviewing as an external hiring, it was over the hour and only lasted about 15 minutes.
All of this made me very uncomfortable and I couldn’t help but think to some interactions I’ve had with our director (I don’t interact with her in a day to day basis, she travels between our office and one a few hours away) on at least two occasions (one on 10/28/24 and a prior date I do not have an exact date for) has misgendered me (used she/hehers), I politely corrected (I used they/them/theirs), and have received a dismissive responses in return. These responses were along the lines of “sure, right” in a sarcastic tone. Both of these interactions were verbal, with no concrete way to document. Knowing that I am several times her subordinate, I chose at the time to let these interactions go wanting to avoid any “they said, she said” situation.
I called my company’s main HR number yesterday, they transferred me to HR compliance, who recommended I submit a workday case for possible discrimination. I did just that and I have a meeting set up with HR tomorrow. I am still going through the interview process, I’m worried I’ve committed career suicide and am now I’m having second thoughts about posting for the promotion, making the case to HR, everything. The country isn’t the kindest to trans ppl and I don’t want to be seen as a problem person.
Any advice?

2025.01.30 23:21 Key_Obligation_5534 Tax’s Picks

Tax’s Picks Ayo BigTax back with todays picks, managed to walk out of yesterday with a nice $180 profit on shai for 40+ pts which was beautiful.
Today’s picks are ranging, few scattered options. A few slips are aiming higher these are also for me to get a gauge how players are preforming sometimes so feel free to take it down a notch on a few of the picks available.
I have a high hit rate on most slips occasionally missing by a couple stats so feel free if your gut tells you otherwise to also change things up.
Lakers and Wolves ML are the only I would touch today. Cavs looks like easy hit but with 2 games past days I’m not taking that on the off chance Trae and the boys decide to wake up.
Props to look at:
Desmond Bane 20pts - 2x De Andre Ayton 10rb - 1.76x Lebron James 10rb - 2.8 (AD out this possible) Isaiah Collier 7ass - 2.45x Jonas Valanciunas 10rb - 1.76x Lebron James 10ass - 2.05x Carlton Carrington Ov7.5pt - 1.95x
Few more around but from a quick scan that’s what I picked out as possible props to watch.

2025.01.30 23:21 official_kikoff Resource Thursday: Master Guide to Hacking Travel with Credit Card Points

You've probably seen the ads for fancy credit cards. They come packed with perks that seem too good to be true: free flights, hotel stays, exclusive airport lounges.... But which one do you choose? How do you even get one?
Here’s what you need to know:
A primer on Credit Scores Credit scores range from 300 to 850 and reflect your creditworthiness. Basically, it shows lenders how likely you are to pay back your debts on time. Those debts could be anything from credit card bills to auto loan payments. From the lender’s point of view, the higher your credit, the more likely you are to pay back your debts on time. Generally speaking, the higher your credit, the more likely you are to be approved for loans and credit cards, and to receive favorable interest rates. That said, banks and lenders account for many different factors when approving people for a credit cards, and a credit score is just one of them.
Everyone calculates credit ranges a bit differently, but this is a general guide that shows how they typically get broken down:

Ideal Credit Score for Travel Credit Cards Most travel rewards credit cards – like those offered by Chase, American Express, or Citi – require credit of at least 700. However, there are travel rewards credit cards designed for those with fair credit, though they might not offer as many perks or may come with higher fees. If your credit is in the mid-600s, you might still find credit card options available, but it’s essential to manage expectations regarding rewards and terms.
How to Improve Your Credit If your credit isn’t quite where it needs to be, don’t worry. Here are a few things that can help boost it:
  1. Pay Bills on Time: Consistent on-time payments are the most significant factor in your credit score. Late payments can hurt your credit.
  2. Reduce Debt: Lowering your credit card balances can positively impact your credit utilization ratio, which is another crucial factor.
  3. Avoid New Credit Card Applications: Each new credit card application can slightly ding your score, so be selective about applying for new credit cards or other credit.
  4. Check for Errors: Regularly review your credit reports for any inaccuracies that might be dragging down your score.
  5. Keep Old Accounts Open: Length of credit history matters, so keep older accounts and credit cards open and active if possible.
Types of Credit Cards for Travel Points Travel Rewards Credit Card: These cards are versatile and allow you to earn points on a wide range of purchases, which can be redeemed for travel expenses like flights, hotels, and car rentals. Examples include the Chase Sapphire Preferred and American Express Gold Card.
Airline-Specific Card: These cards are co-branded with airlines and offer benefits tailored to that airline’s frequent flyers. Perks often include priority boarding, free checked bags, and discounts on in-flight purchases. Examples include the Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express Card and the United Explorer Card.
Flexible Points Card: These cards offer points that can be transferred to various airline and hotel loyalty programs, providing flexibility in how you use your rewards. Examples include the American Express Membership Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Credit Card Annual Fees: While some cards come with no annual fee, others might charge upwards of $450 per year. Consider whether the perks and rewards justify this cost.
Point Redemption Options: Ensure the card offers a variety of redemption options that align with your travel goals. Some cards offer higher point value when redeemed for travel through their portals.
Sign-Up Bonuses: Many cards offer large sign-up bonuses that can give you a hefty amount of points right away. Make sure to check the spending requirement to earn these bonuses.
Applying for a Travel Credit Card: Before applying, do your research. Compare various travel credit cards to find one that matches your needs and credit profile. Look at the rewards structure, annual fees, interest rates, balance transfer fees, foreign transaction fees, and additional benefits.
Use pre-qualification tools credit card issuers offer to see your chances of approval without it affecting your credit.
Promotional Offers Many travel credit cards offer promotional offers to attract new customers and reward their purchases in the first few months after account opening.
These promotions often include introductory 0% annual percentage rate (APR) on purchases for a set number of months from account opening, making it easier to pay off big purchases without incurring interest.
How Do I Max out my Travel Rewards credit cards? Points per dollar: “Points per dollar” is a key concept in travel rewards credit cards that determines how many reward points you earn for every dollar you spend.
Typically, credit cards offer different rates of points per dollar based on the type of purchase. For example, a card might offer 2 points per dollar spent on travel and dining and 1 point per dollar on all other purchases. This means if you spend $100 on a qualifying travel expense, you would earn 200 points.
Bonus points: Travel credit card rewards often include enticing bonus points as a key feature to attract new cardholders. These bonus points are typically awarded after meeting a minimum spending requirement within the first few months of account opening. For example, a card might offer 60,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 in the first three months after account opening.
These bonus points can significantly boost your rewards balance quickly, allowing you to redeem them for free flights, hotel stays, or other travel-related expenses much sooner.
Additionally, some cards offer elevated bonus points in specific spending categories, such as travel and dining, further enhancing the value you receive from your purchases.
The Importance of Good Credit Every travel credit card we talked about above has great perks and can help make travel purchases easier on your wallet. Here’s the catch, every one of those travel credit cards recommends a good credit score before applying.
A lot of things can impact your credit. Your FICO Score and VantageScore, the main two credit scores, look at several factors calculating credit scores, like your credit history, how much you use your credit card (credit utilization rate), and your credit limit.
Building good credit and credit health is essential for your financial health in general, and specifically, if you want to unlock the best travel credit cards.
Higher credit increases your chances of approval and gives you access to credit cards with superior rewards and benefits.
Conclusion Using credit card points for travel is not just a dream but an attainable reality for anyone willing to put in the effort. The benefits are tremendous, offering budget-friendly ways to explore the world. Start building your credit and dive in!
