2025.01.31 01:40 RiverRat2440 Severe job application fatigue after the presidential hiring freeze
I’m a 1L who had my dream summer internship offer at the DOJ revoked by the presidential hiring freeze, and honestly I’m just here to rant about having to go back to work on applying to other places (all of which I’m less passionate about than the offer I had).
I’m not even that mad about the situation itself. The legal community has honestly been really supportive. I know I’m not alone. My school has been giving special attention to students in this situation, local employers are extending their deadlines and expanding their cohorts to accommodate us, and the office I was supposed to be in is even personally trying to help each of us find opportunities with judges or legal organizations that match our interests. I truly am grateful for all of it and feel fine about what happened. That’s life, you roll with the punches.
But goddamn it’s tough to go back to filling out these monotonous applications when you thought you didn’t have to worry about it anymore. Applying to state government equivalents of a job I was already accepted to is extremely frustrating and frankly disappointing.
The worst part is I think I had a pretty low GPA for the program I got offered. I’m a median, B+ student through and through, but I think my resume really caught their eye and I hit the interview out of the park. Now I feel like I need lightning to strike a second time, which we all know it never does.
Like I said, I know I’m not alone. I also know thousands of 3Ls were affected much worse than I was, and I’m praying for those folks every day. But man it still sucks.

I had to start using the web Office365 version of Outlook for emails for school, and now every time i get an email I get a sound notification on my desktop even though I have notifications turned off in outlook. I don't have the outlook app installed, nor do I have microsoft mail installed, and this doesn't happen with gmail. What is giving me these notification sounds?

Hi guys! I typically buy moonstone rings (pinky) but recently purchased this aquamarine ring (pointer). They’re both platinum and i feel like i need to wear them because of that, otherwise i would just retire one and wear a different ring lol.
I honestly prefer the look of moonstone rings (the cabochon feels more casual/less feminine/more my style), but i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of other rings i could wear that would make these two go together?
Right now I’m thinking of maybe buying a thicker band with filigree or leaves or some other style to stack with the aquamarine ring on my pointer finger, but open to ideas! Thanks

2025.01.31 01:40 NoFood126 Burn out already?
I’ve been a be safe for a few months now and I feel like I am losing my mind. I work at a clinic that is in desperate need of a revamp which I have been trying to do since day one. I’ve made positive changes but there still needs to be a lot of work done. But with that being said, I also am just trying to meet the needs of my clients And my families, but I am being pulled in 20 different directions. I was supposed to leave today at 5:30 had to stay an extra hour because there was no other BCBA in the clinic to support and support was needed. I am trying to set harder boundaries for myself, but I’m clearly struggling and I don’t feel like anybody is listening to me. I don’t feel that I will stay at this clinic long. I wanna say at least a year before I go somewhere else so if I could get any suggestions on how to set better boundaries and stop feeling like I’m being pulled in all these different directions. I greatly appreciate that.

I’m 62 and still working full time. I get home around 6pm. I like to veg and surf on my iPad with a glass of wine. I often graze on whatever is in the fridge for dinner. Sometimes I’ll be in the mood to make a full meal.
My problem is by the time it gets done it’s 9 o’clock. Then I will get into a TV show and be up until 11 which is way past my bedtime lol. My housemate works nights so I don’t have to worry about feeding him. Just wondering if there’s anyone else out there that goes through the same thing.

There are no cracks, personalization, scratches, or dings, just light wear consistent with age. It is designed to take Platinum cartridges.
