They're a lot more useful than just squawking in your ear.
If you notice a crow flying back on something, that means a Survivor was recently there. (Specifically, 15 seconds ago.) And if you pay close attention and notice a nearby crow doing the same thing, you should have a good idea as to where that Survivor is going. Additionally, try to occasionally look up at the sky to see if any of them fly up. It's very easy to see a disturbed crow from afar.
Remember this: the crows knows.

a few weeks ago i had a flashback for a traumatic experience i never remembered happening. i have never had a flashback before and although ive had panic attacks it was nothing like this. i saw everything so vividly, it was like it was all happening in front of me. i could hear so distinctly and although i knew logically where i really was i felt so trapped in that moment. my body just completely froze, i couldn't move my mouth or even look to the side or blink, just entirely immobilized. when it ended i went into full fight or flight and it took me hours to come out of it. i know repressed memories are highly debated and there is no real, hard evidence for it. i also know the brain will fabricate memories. i'm just afraid of saying something happened when my brain just made it up, yet the way my body reacted i feel was just definitive of something else. i have never ever suspected anything like this before and know i just don't know what to do. i also got high the night before it happened, and when the high worn off i became super anxious and couldn't sleep but i didn't know why, when i got up to get ready i just started crying and couldn't get myself to stop, then a few hours later the flashback hit. so i think maybe it was psychosis induced from weed, but i also know that's pretty rare and ive never had any sort of reaction like that before, and it was the same stuff i had smoked before. i wasn't even that high, so it's hard to completely belive that. idk i just don't know what to think anymore

When I was about fifteen, I discovered I had an impacted canine in the middle of my hard palette. After consulting with an orthodontist and an oral surgeon, I found out that they would need to make an exposure to pull the tooth down, and I would wear braces to pull the new tooth in. My parents were unwilling to pay for this and never brought it up again. Flash forward to when I was 34 in June of 2023 and could afford to pay for things like this. I asked my dentist about removing this stray canine and baby tooth that never left and replacing it all with an implant so that I would never have to think about this ever again. Trust me when I say my parents REALLY should have taken care of this way back when. My dentist was persistent and told me the braces/exposure route was the best, it would cost roughly the same, and it is generally better to have your real teeth, if possible, over an implant. I was skeptical because of my age (your tooth can fuse to your bone), but he was confident it would come in. I saw his orthodontist, and he was skeptical it would come, andI was told I am rolling the dice. I decided to pursue this route because it did sound better to have my actual tooth even if I had to have braces for what he said would be 1 year. The price was $3200 which I paid in full.
The orthodontist put braces on my top row of teeth only, saying there was no point in putting them on the bottom row until the new canine had moved into place. I got the surgery to expose the canine, and the tooth was able to move, and the tooth began moving slowly at first but really started to move a lot once it got halfway to its destination. I was approaching the 1 year anniversary of having braces, and the tooth was getting close to being in place in April of 2024. When I went in for another tightening of the cord, my orthodontist checked it and said, “Yep, looks good, only one more year to go!” I was shocked and recounted to him that he said originally, that this would only take one year. I had put off leaving where I was living one whole year to take care of this. The orthodontist kind of shrugged it off and left. I was a little angry with this but did also reason, well thats the way it can go sometimes. You can’t really predict how fast your teeth will move.
I did have to leave where I was living, I had lived with my ex-girlfriend for about one year after we had broken up as we had owned a house together, and it would take some time to resolve this, not unlike a divorce. My orthdontist informed me that this will be fine, gave me a refund of $1500, told me these services are available everywhere, and he will send the records wherever they need to go. A few months later I landed in London, England for what will be a five-month stay. I figured that it would be easy to find an orthodontist who would continue pulling this canine, given that London is so large. Much to my surprise, pretty much every orthodontist would either not respond to my emails, would be 3-4 months out in appointment times, or would NEVER pick up where someone left off in orthodontic care. 2 months into my search I did find an office that would see me that same week.
Immediately, the new orthodontist talked about how my jaw was not a masculine jaw. This was confusing, I had no idea where she was going with this. I never got braces for aesthetic purposes, my teeth were relatively straight and I never had braces in childhood, so I was not prepared for the crazy sales pitch I was about to hear. She tried to convince me I have sleep apnea, which trust me folks, I am roughly 150 pounds and have struggled with sleeplessness my whole life, I can’t fall asleep anywhere unless its dark and completely silent. She ran me through a sleep apnea quiz and the results said I had no likelihood of sleep apnea. She still suggested I do a sleep study at a sleep center to make 100% sure. She also suggested that I get surgery where they will break my mandible to pull my chin forward more. After two consultations with this back and forth, she quoted me a price of 20,000 pounds, and never did anything to pull my canine more into place. I thought all of this was absolutely crazy. I said I would think about it, but asked if she could take care of the present task of bringing this one fucking tooth into place. She did good to pull on it three more times, but after that it was time to return to the United States, this time in a new town I had never been to. This brings me to the current day.
I will only be here for the next 3-4 months. I have tried to find an orthodontist to continue this work, but I have ran into more of these silly shenanigans. The first orthodontist I contacted went back and forth for three weeks with my first ortho trying to get records and would not see me at all until they got some pictures of me before I even had braces in. I gave up on them eventually. The second orthodontist I found didn’t seem to care at all about getting records and would see me in a week. I sent the records to them just in case, so there would be absolutely no whammies. They gave me a consultation telling me that they will put their own set of braces in, that it would cost $5000, and that it would take 24 months. I was in shock at both the amount of time and now the huge change in price. It was almost as if they were proposing we completely start over. I told them that I will not be here for 24 months but at most 5 months. They said that I probably should not use their services because they charge a substantial fee if you leave in the middle of treatment. This all seemed very unusual to me.
I obviously will not be here in my current location for 2 years and I understand that orthodontists do not like to jump into someone else’s work and end it before being completed. So I ask the community here, what you would do? Do you have any insights into anything I have explained here? I don’t understand why I can’t find an orthodontist to just focus on pulling the canine in. They always want to look at the bigger picture (understandably), but not everyone who has braces can stay in the same place. Is there anything I can do to finish this up competently that won’t cost an arm and a leg while I am in a nomadic state of living?

I have been putting Imiquimod Cream, 5% on it for about a year with no resolution. A couple of months ago, I started taking Zinc (one 50mg tablet every night) after about a month I started taking two tablets per night (zinc brand posted in photos). Can someone please help me? I’m tired of my hand looking like this or constantly having a band aid wrapped around my finger. I’m not sure if I am not taking the right type of zinc or if I have not waited long enough. I’m so overwhelmed by all the specs and different styles. I’ve gone to jewellery stores and feel awkward to ask them to try on any of their diamond rings. So how did you start browsing for styles and find the one you like?
Also - my bf and I decided to not shop together. I told him I’d tell my sister the details of the ring and he’d to go her when he plans to propose. We decided on a proposal window but it’s still pretty wide for it to be a surprise. And none of my friends are engaged yet.
