So I was listening to Tommy today on The Bulwark (the Pod bros love The Bulwark). Tommy was complaining about trial lawyers and environmentalists and promoting a WSJ editorial piece about RFK Jr.
Favreau has been boosting a lot of Bulwark and Matt Yglesias and Jon Chait and Adam Jentleson content (ie ppl who blame “the groups” in 2019 for our problems). Lovett seemed visibly frustrated and uncomfortable around Hasan Piker when they talked after the election. Tommy has complained about how Biden spent too much and maybe Joe Manchin was right about federal spending…meanwhile both Jons are pretty hawkish around immigration and China policy. Favreau was giving Fetterman plaudits for being shitty about condemning Jan. 6 pardons (despite Michael Fanone calling Fetterman a sellout the other day). The Pod barely covered the awful Laken Riley bill.
I’m getting the feeling that the Pod is gonna grow frustrated and alienated from a large section of the base over the next couple years, who want populism and universal programs and fighters who tell the GOP to eat shit (as opposed to making nice and calling for “bipartisanship” and indulging MAGA, like Fetterman). From Favreau complaining about immigration and China stuff and how M4A is actually bad policy and very unpopular, to Tommy’s weird fiscal conservatism/budget hawkery, to Lovett being visibly uncomfortable around leftist streamers who often criticize the party. The only ppl I see at Crooked up to the task are Dan and Ben Rhodes.
Am I the only one noticing this? I think they’re taking away a lot of harmful lessons from this election, and assume most Americans think trans ppl are ick and mass deportation is good and are fiscally conservative and so forth (this is not at all clear based on the relevant polling). Thoughts?

I started listening to A Shot Below The Belt and I was like....weird. Then I moved over to Barbarians and I was like okay wtf is going on and I noticed the cover of the song said 20th Anniversary.
So I went back to the original album and it sounds 100 times better. I don't think I've ever encountered a remaster that sounds way shittier than the original. It seriously sounds like they recorded it over a tape recorder.

Hi everyone. I'm currently interested in out of body experiences and would like to have them. I'm a beginner but I'm doing my best to learn. I'm approaching this with a pen and paper (writing down everything I learn) so that I can analyze what I read and not get confused by too many perspectives. I looked in the search bar and Google before posting this to make sure that I'm not repeating an already written post, but found nothing.
Some things about me: I'm not religious and I don't believe in most spiritual stuff, and I've never done drugs or alcohol and never plan on doing them. I'm also really skeptical of most stories here, especially if the person also has posts about taking drugs and such. I think I will have to explore OBEs for myself and possibly find people to meet up with IRL to discuss this with though I'm not sure about that yet.
So my questions are: how do I get started, and what are some tips on exploring out of body experiences/astral projection without feeling crazy? Lately I've started opening up to things like OBEs and lucid dreams. I'm skeptical of all of this but also curious (except lucid dreams since I've had them in the past but only shortly, for a few seconds). Are there some must read books before beginning? I have read the instructions in "The Phase" book but had a semi-lucid dream where I knew that I wasn't ready yet. I'm studying OBEs like I'd study a college course and walking so that I can get out of the house and think about it carefully. As you can see I'm taking it really seriously because otherwise I'd feel like I'm crazy haha.
I'm also wondering, what exactly is what's called "the astral"? I had this idea that once I leave the body, I will be in the room I'm sleeping in and able to see my body, and also able to go around the world, go through walls or whatnot. Pretty much I believed that I'd still be on this Earth, just not in my body. However, in "The Phase" book I read some stories about people not quite being in >their< room, being on another planet, or in a completely different place than where their physical body is. So I'm just confused about this since it seems that we're not in the physical world while having an OBE (seems obvious but I'm wondering why in some experiences that I read people are not in the same place that they perceive when they're awake).

For context, I have a green named arctic staff that has a 220 next to its sword icon, meaning it should be superior (granted it’s effects are 92 fire, 80 burning 3 seconds, 30 ice, and 18 freezing 6 seconds).
