I never thought I'd be here and I can't thank my silly birb enough. What started as a way to stop using is now something I look forward to. I started by doing the bare minimum, using a naked bird to go on one adventure, seldomly and then return to an empty room. I started adding tasks that would benefit me in real life even small ones. It's been 100 days clean and sober, 100 days of taking my medication, 100 days of walking and 100 days of eating two meals a day.
There's so many 100 days.
I've cleaned up my house and now keep it in a state where anyone can come over at any time and I don't dread it. It's all thanks to my birb's silly enthusiasm I have never seen an app that promotes such positivity and the ability for self healing. My birb gets pets daily outfits, new pets and a nice and full house when she returns.
There's been slips and trips and falls, and she is always happy to get back up and keep flying.
I can't thank the team at Finch enough or my silly birb.

I have 3 recessed lights in my kitchenette. I changed 2 with led bulbs. The last one is cfl. Is this okay? They share a light switch so I guess that makes them a single fixture. Thanks.

I've been contemplating on writing an OC/reader fanfiction, however, there had been an uncertainty of deciding on surroundings where the characters would be introduced in. I've already established 3 fictional premises that'll be introduced in the fanfiction, the thought only recently introduced whilst procrastinating.
QUESTION: would it still be appropriate to set it in an already existing location in the world? EG; an fictional school situated in London, England.
I've seen others done it, but does it cause any perturbance to the reader themselves? I'm pensive if such circumstance would be complicatedly inconvenient or vice versa for the reader's comfort.

I was rejected from McGill University applying as an international student from the US. I'm just curious as to why McGill separates extracurriculars and personal writing from the initial application, involving it strictly within an "Entrance Scholarship" which is irrelevant in the admissions process (and doesn't even get reviewed until after you are accepted). My value as an applicant lies more heavily in my writing, and my ECs further reflect that value, so I find it odd that applicants like me would be outright rejected despite being strong candidates.

Am I missing something?
I'm left handed (mouse with left hand, keyboard with right). I just refunded the game after spending 30 minutes trying to figure out why I can't rebind the keys properly. First, I can't use the keypad entirely, some of the keys like Keypad Enter are not usable. Second, my backup control scheme is to use IJKL (as opposed to WASD). When I confirm these keybindings, even if I confirm after it tells me there are unassigned keys, it reverts to WASD.
At this point, this is unacceptable to me and I am done tolerating it from developers. Are there other left handed gamers that figured this out? I still refunded it because I just have had it with this in 2025.
Games I've had to refund because of hard-binds that made them unplayable as a lefty:
- Vermintide 2
- Stalker 2
- No Man's Sky
- Cyberpunk 2077
