Hi everyone. I'm currently interested in out of body experiences and would like to have them. I'm a beginner but I'm doing my best to learn. I'm approaching this with a pen and paper (writing down everything I learn) so that I can analyze what I read and not get confused by too many perspectives. I looked in the search bar and Google before posting this to make sure that I'm not repeating an already written post, but found nothing.
Some things about me: I'm not religious and I don't believe in most spiritual stuff, and I've never done drugs or alcohol and never plan on doing them. I'm also really skeptical of most stories here, especially if the person also has posts about taking drugs and such. I think I will have to explore OBEs for myself and possibly find people to meet up with IRL to discuss this with though I'm not sure about that yet.
So my questions are: how do I get started, and what are some tips on exploring out of body experiences/astral projection without feeling crazy? Lately I've started opening up to things like OBEs and lucid dreams. I'm skeptical of all of this but also curious (except lucid dreams since I've had them in the past but only shortly, for a few seconds). Are there some must read books before beginning? I have read the instructions in "The Phase" book but had a semi-lucid dream where I knew that I wasn't ready yet. I'm studying OBEs like I'd study a college course and walking so that I can get out of the house and think about it carefully. As you can see I'm taking it really seriously because otherwise I'd feel like I'm crazy haha.
I'm also wondering, what exactly is what's called "the astral"? I had this idea that once I leave the body, I will be in the room I'm sleeping in and able to see my body, and also able to go around the world, go through walls or whatnot. Pretty much I believed that I'd still be on this Earth, just not in my body. However, in "The Phase" book I read some stories about people not quite being in >their< room, being on another planet, or in a completely different place than where their physical body is. So I'm just confused about this since it seems that we're not in the physical world while having an OBE (seems obvious but I'm wondering why in some experiences that I read people are not in the same place that they perceive when they're awake).

For context, I have a green named arctic staff that has a 220 next to its sword icon, meaning it should be superior (granted it’s effects are 92 fire, 80 burning 3 seconds, 30 ice, and 18 freezing 6 seconds).
I just wanna know if I wasted my few flawless mats on this thing and if I should reload to make it use as little mats as possible depending on if it’s inferior at its best to said arctic staff or not.

2025.01.31 02:51 VividSalary3151 Just starting Eldar Army. Have Custodes and Necrons. Eldar seem to be lacking ap2d2 and a few other arc types?
With so much in this game having 4+invuls I love the ap2d2 profile of the custodes spears. Theyre just boring to play... 3squads of wardens, 3blade champs, 2 tanks.. etc etc etc... every time. So I play Necrons and theyre a blast and Aeldari look sweet so I wanna give em a try!!
Wraith look fun! Also wraithlords StarCannons look good but low vollume I feel... Maybe Im looking at building an Aeldari army wrong? Is the trick to just have lots of units with a couple big shots each to take down squads? Everything does seem cheaper per model.
Like, is there a Doomsday Ark equivilent, d6+1+blast attacks ap4d4 for 190 points? I might not be looking at the aeldari right, also coming from custodes everything looks totally different... lol. Help plz.
I love the lore behind Eldar and the models are dope, gona give it a go! Thanks in advance.

I've been fun speculation about how the Reboot will end with it's final instalment. Will the final movie conclude with Humans and Apes co-existing with each other in peace, similar to what was shown in the ending of "Battle for the Planet of the Apes." Or, will it take a twist and it's the opposite of that, where Humanity actually becomes extinct, and the world truly becomes a Planet of the Apes by the end of it all.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love my mother. She was a single mom who raised me by herself while serving in the Army. That being said, she is the most narcissistic person I know.
She’s a disabled veteran, but over time, she has become her disability. Every conversation she has—whether it’s with me, family, or friends—inevitably turns into a discussion about her struggles. Even if someone shares something about themselves, she somehow redirects the conversation back to her.
She also constantly lives in the past. One day, I asked her why, and she looked me in the eye and said, "I have nothing to look forward to." That statement crushed me. I have two children (23 and 10), and my brother has 33-year-old twins. You’d think she’d find joy in what her grandchildren are doing, but instead, she insists that all of her happiest times are behind her.
I asked, "So you don’t have any happy times with me, my brother, or our kids?" And the way she dismissed it just broke me. I have literally sacrificed so much to be her caregiver—I dropped out of college, and I even lost my job because of it—yet her words made me feel completely disregarded.
Maybe I’m overreacting, but I can’t shake the way this makes me feel. Am I wrong for feeling this way?
TL;DR: I love my mom, but she’s incredibly self-centered and constantly lives in the past. She told me she has nothing to look forward to, despite having children and grandchildren who love her. I’ve sacrificed a lot to be her caregiver, yet I feel completely disregarded. Am I overreacting for feeling hurt?

As a Christian in the Reformed tradition, Donald Trump’s election as 47th President is making me doubt God’s Sovereignty and the faith more broadly.
Do forgive me if this is treading too political, but it forms the crux of my concerns:
Trump is a convicted felon.
Not only has he been convicted and sentenced for crimes committed, but he was indicted for serious offences against the United States (the Classified Documents case under the Espionage Act).
This case was later dropped for seemingly-partisan reasons, it never even made it to trial.
This in particular is shaking my faith in God and his sovereignty; as it would appear to me that God is (almost) not in control, though I know he remains sovereign.
If I were a dispensationalist, I’d chalk it up to Trump’s election serving as judgement for the United States, though I do not subscribe to dispensationalism.
I don’t have any satisfactory answers as to how or why things are happening the way they are, and it frustrates me greatly.
Any feedback from my fellow brothers and sisters is welcome.
