I work in a museum/aquarium in learning and development and wanted to connect with other folks in the space. I’m tasked with building out an entire L&D department where one hasn’t existed before and while I’m excited about the opportunity and challenge, it’s quite the undertaking. We don’t have a competency model, there’s no existing infrastructure, and budgets are nebulous. Essentially, I am dealing with a very exciting blank slate.
We have a huge diversity of roles - everything from normal business functions to biologists to floor staff to water quality managers to exhibits folks - and everything in between.
If you’re an L&D leader, how have you thought about building your offerings to cover such a wide range of skills? If you’re a museum pro, what’s working well for you at your organization?
I’m hoping to gain some perspective and resources as I develop an L&D strategy that works for my organization.

Not sure if this is the sub for this question but, I've been an avid pixel user since the 4, now have a 6 and my 9 comes tomorrow.
I have some free credits on my google account I'd like to burn. I currently have some ok $60 Sony earbuds, and am heavily interested in the pixel buds pro 2.
But I also think smart watches are pretty neat. I've never had one, don't know if I'd like it, but the idea is cool.
I know this is a dumb opinionated matter but, if you could pick one, would you rather have a smart watch or earbuds?

I want to enter LD by WILD which requires hypnagogia images. The only way I know is before sleep or right after you wake up, lay still and focus on your eyelids until images appear. So far, all I've got is some light gradually expanding, covering all of my sight. Nothing happens after that, even I lay for 30 mins.
To the people who have LD with WILD, what is your way to induce hypnagogia? Do you have any tip to raise the chance to have it?

My dad has been having these types of sensations, and I want to find out what the cause is since the symptoms are so hard to describe it's difficult to look them up and find anything. He feels the sensation of being on a roller coaster or going down a hill without actually doing so. We went to the heart specialist and she performed a test on him, and found out that his artery was clogged. He went through a procedure to get his artery unclogged, but the sensation persists, and he says it's unbearable. He was prescribed 5 different medications for blood pressure, and his heart. I looked up his symptoms which are difficult to look up since his best description is what one feels when they go down a hill something like a rise, and what I found is that the cause is likely anxiety. He doesn't always feel this way, it's like something random. Like you're doing something, and then suddenly you feel a rising sensation, and it goes away. This happens to him constantly. He says it happens to him while he's standing up, sitting down, and laying on his bed, but he told me it happens most often when he's laying on his bed. What should he do? Any recommendations on what doctor he should visit? Has anyone else felt these symptoms, and found anything that helps?

First I would like to say I have never watched sister wives before not even casually as a kid and I was a TLC kid! I started watching sister wives for the first time time in December. I am now on season 8 Yes I need to get a life hahah but with watching I do know a little bit of the lore. For starters I could just feel that with the move to Vegas it was the beginning of the end. But really I think even agreeing to the show it was the beginning of the end. My lingering question I’ve had so far is if Meri has had such a hard time accepting each new wife that had come along why did she initiate Robyn coming into the family? It really makes no sense to me because Kody as well as Janelle and Christine have stated they were not in the market for a 4th wife. Knowing how hard of a time Meri had had with adjusting to the first two wife’s as is why proposition Robyn to Kody?? That makes no sense to me. Secondly when does Kody ever spend concrete alone and bonding time with each individual kid? Yes it’s a tv show so we don’t see everything but how can you be a present parent if you don’t even know the kids?
I really would like a perspective from OG viewers so feel free to drop spoilers and true insight. I’m also aware that Christine does leave in the later season but in the moment I don’t know about the other wives and if they end up staying or anything. Like I stated earlier I’m on season 8 and so far I feel like Meri has one foot in and one foot out. She’s been very quiet this season so I feel like she won’t be within the marriage long. Perhaps she leaves before Christine idk I haven’t gotten that far just yet 😭. I also really like each child’s individuality which I feel would be hard to establish within such a big family.
